Since you’re interested in historical aus aren’t you considering maybe a greek mythology au with some sort of reincarnation thing where? JK (he’s my bias) and the male reader’s bond was preordained thousands of years ago and they should meet and stuff like that of a prophecy that the gods made or something? You know seems interesting…
That does seem interesting!
Unfortunately, I’m not taking requests at the moment and I don’t really know that much about Greek mythology. My inspirations usually come from historical-fantasy asian dramas that I watch (like the untamed, handsome siblings, word of honor, and the princess weiyoung).
So when I say that I like historical au’s, I didn’t mean real/accurate history, but more like fantasy-fiction type of history.
Thank you for the suggestion though, I’ll definitely do some research on Greek mythology and maybe release something like that in the future.

Each bump they came across on the stone path sent Ji-ah slamming into the opposite side of the carriage, causing her to push the thin, transparent curtains aside to glare at her lover who sat upon the short wooden platform, commanding the two horses leading them. “Honey, do you have to be so rough on the road?”
“Forgive me, my love.” Jungkook glanced back at his beautiful fiancé, smiling at the sight of her adorable, annoyed expression. “I just want to get out of the Jangsan Mountain Valley as soon as possible. We should be safe the moment we are out of the Park Family’s territory.”
Ji-ah nodded understandingly, closing the curtains and retreating back into the carriage. She knew her fiancé had the right to be cautious. They were on the run. Not just from probably the most dangerous person in the world—but from the most dangerous clan known. The Park Clan. But even though they were on the run, Ji-ah still worried for her love’s health. They been running for more than twelve hours straight, from night to day, since they left the Winter Palace—the Park clan’s residence—last night.
Ji-ah tried suggest to take a brief rest two hours ago, if not for him at least for the horses, but he turned it down almost instantly, using the same reason as to why they couldn’t stop. They could not risk him finding them.
“How much farther until we get to Muan?” She found herself asking after a few minutes passed. Muan was the closest village that wasn’t part of the Park Clan, and if they got there they would be safe because the clan can’t do anything without causing any conflicts between them and the Jung Clan.
“We should reach Muan in about an hour,” Jungkook answers, briefly glancing back at Ji-ah as he spoke. “There we can rent a room at an inn and finally get some much needed rest.”
“That sounds amazing,” Ji-ah smiles. “After Muan, where will be our next destination? Or are we just going to be always on the run?”
Jungkook sighed, noticing the hints of sadness that were laced in his lover’s voice. “I don’t know, my love. Maybe we can—”
Suddenly, a loud, thunderous roar was heard, causing Jungkook to stop the carriage abruptly, both his and Ji-ah’s hearts stopping at the very familiar sound. “Jungkook, is that—” she didn’t have to finish her question because he was already nodding, fear clear in both of their eyes as they both were staring up at the bright, clear sky.
It wasn’t just any normal animalistic roar. It was a dragon’s roar. “Blossom is searching for us...”
“What should we do?”
“We have to hide,” Jungkook was beginning to panic, knowing that they couldn’t continue down the path if the Park Clan’s dragon was flying high above, looking for them. “We might be able to find a cave to hide in until Blossom passes over.”
Ji-ah nods in agreement, head poking out of the small window of the carriage and staring up at the sky, sharing the same anxious expression as him.
Because they both knew that if Blossom was here, he wasn’t far.
“Jeon Jeongguk.....Choi Ji-ah.” You seethed, crumbling the small scroll that was in your hand that one of your disciples gave you, which had the information about the two running off together. “Leave,” you glared at the disciple who delivered the message, watching them bow their head at you before leaving you alone in your throne room.
“You think you can humiliate me like this?” You spoke to yourself, eyes building up with tears and hands clenching into a fist out of complete anger. “How could you treat me so horribly? What does that whore have that I don’t?”
The moment you felt a tear slip form your eyes, rage flowed through you, making you unsheathed your sword and swipe the sharp blade through the air. The elegant candle stick that once stood untouched was now sliced in half, the two pieces of the decorative and burnt out candles scattered across the ground a couple feet away from you. “I gave you nothing but love, and yet you chose her over me...”
You’ve never felt these type of emotions before. The pain, the humiliation, the heartache—it was all new to you and you didn’t know what to do. So you did the only thing you could thing of.
You screamed.
Your scream made the ground shake violently, making the disciples that stood right outside the throne room shake in fear.
“Master, the—” you swung your sword again instantly at the sound of a man’s voice, the sound of a body coming into contact with ground right after. Turning around, with your back now facing your throne your eyes fell upon a disciple laying on the ground, lifeless with blood flowing from his throat.
“I told you all that I wanted to be alone.” You glared at the three disciples that stood beside the dead body, heads bowed. “Why are you here?”
The three disciples all shared a look of hesitation, silently deciding with one another on who should be the one to speak up. But when hearing your feet begin to tap impatiently on the hard, smooth stone floor, one of them finally stepped forward while the other two dragged the dead body out. “Master, the traitors have been found.”
Your eyes instantly widened, “what—where?!”
“A scout spotted them in a carriage traveling down the Jangsan Mountain Valley path. Second Master Jimin took Blossom to intercept them.”
“My brother is going to intercept them?” That made you laugh. “Did he say what he was going to do to them exactly when he...intercepts them?” When the disciple shook their head, you chuckled bitterly. “He must think I’m a fool.”
The disciple raised a brow at your words but chose to remain to silent. They knew you and the Second Master—your brother never got along, even when you were kids. Nobody dared to ask the reason behind the falling out between you two because they knew that if they did, they were just asking for their death. The only people that knew why their master dislikes the second master so much were the elders—disciples, scholars, physicians that were around when the previous clan leader, your father was still in charge.
Whenever a disciple asked about the history of the two masters, some of the elders would punish that disciple—and there were some that would actually share. Of course, after that disciple swore not to ever speak about it because if either you or Jimin found out, they would soon find their days limited.
You were youngest and the most favored one. Even though traditions say that the oldest child would become clan leader, your parents chose you, breaking those known traditions. Many people at first thought that that’s the reason why you two drifted apart. But that didn’t make any sense because nobody ever witnessed or even noticed their Second Master—your brother treat you poorly. It was always you that acted harshly towards him.
Till this day, three years into your role of clan leader, from the ages of eighteen to twenty-one still nobody knew the real reason as to why you completely despised your older brother.
“What shall you have me do, Master?” The disciple slightly bowed their head. “Shall I gather some more disciples and pursue the traitors?”
“Don’t bother,” sheathing your sword, your jaw clenched. “Stay here. I’ll go after them myself.”
The disciple bowed and kept their head low while you left the throne room. Just from hearing the tone of your voice and the sight of the scowl on your face, they knew that when you return, the Park Clan will change forever.
“Jungkook,” trembling in the arms of her lover, Ji-ah glanced up, the both of them jumping and feeling him tighten his grasp around her when hearing another thunderous roar. “How long do you think Blossom will keep flying over us?”
For the past hour, Jungkook and Ji-ah have been hiding inside a cave they found along the Jangsan Mountain, waiting for Park Clan’s dragon to past. “I’m not sure,” Jungkook said, glancing down and meeting her eyes. “She must’ve caught our scent or something.”
“I-I’m scared...”
Jungkook’s heart sunk at her frightened voice. He felt utterly useless. When they thought of the idea of running away and starting a life of their own, he swore that he would always protect her, that there wouldn’t be a day where she would feel unsafe, in danger. It hasn’t even been a full day since they escaped and they were already being chased down by the entire Park Clan, labeled as traitors and would most likely be executed the moment they are capture.
“I’m sorry,” his voice was low when he spoke, hands rubbing soothingly up and down her arms. “When we left, I promised you a life full of nothing but love and happiness. But thanks to me, we are now in this position. Loving me was a mistake—”
“Stop.” Ji-ah cupped Jungkook’s chin, forcing him to meet her gaze, wiping the few stray tears that escaped. “Loving you was not a mistake. Everything that we have went through is worth it if it means I get to be with you.” Leaning up, she pecked his cheek before continuing, “I’ve been a servant to the Park Family ever since I was a child. I always believed that because of my low status I’ll never have a future—I’ll never find a man and get married, have a family. I gave up on life.”
Silence overcame them briefly. “Until I met you.” Ji-ah smiled, running her finger delicately along Jungkook’s jawline, heart warming at the feeling of him nuzzling into her touch. “I finally felt loved, cherished. You gave me hope again, so don’t you dare say loving you was a mistake because you’re wrong, Jeon Jeongguk.”
Cupping her chin gently into the palm of his hand, Jungkook ran thumb over her soft, plump lips before leaning down and capturing them with his. Ji-ah kisses back without any hesitation. It was filled with nothing but love and passion, showing how much they care for one another. “I love you so much, Choi Ji-ah, with all my heart.”
“I love you, Jeon Jeongguk, with all my heart.”
“Such a sweet moment...”
The sound of a very familiar voice made the couple freeze and tremble out of fear. Turning towards the entrance of the cave, their eyes widened when seeing the second master of the Park Clan standing a couple feet in front of them, dressed in the prominent clan’s signature pristine white robes with a white rose insignia stitched on both arm sleeves. Park Jimin.
Park Jimin was the literal definition of beauty—as well as the first master of the Park Clan. Even under the darkness of the cave, his long, smooth blonde hair held up with a white jade hairpin and light gray eyes still shined brightly and beautifully. But the stunning features didn’t fool him. Jungkook knew exactly what the second master was capable of. He may be beautiful, but he is also very deadly and cannot be trusted—nobody from the Park Clan can be.
But Jungkook was confused. Knowing how powerful Park Jimin is, he was unsure as to why he hasn’t done anything to them yet.
“Second Master Jimin—” Ji-ah rushed forward, slipping herself from Jungkook’s arms and falling onto her knees and bowing her head for the cultivator standing before her, Jungkook copying right after. “Please forgive us, have mercy—”
He took slow, intimidating footsteps towards them until he stood directly in front of Jungkook, bending slightly down to grip his chin and forcing his head up so that his eyes could meet his gaze. “Jeon Jeongguk, you must have a death wish...”
“Second Master, please—” Ji-ah spoke up but was once again cut off, this time from the contact of Jimin’s hand to her cheek, sending her head whipping to the side from the powerful swing.
“Did I give you permission to speak?” Jimin asked rhetorically, briefly glancing at her before returning his back to Jungkook, who still kept his eyes trained on him. “Jeon Jeongguk, you truly are a despicable person. How could you treat my brother so terribly, after everything he has done for you.”
Jungkook hung his head low but stayed silent. “He saved you, took you in while you were injured. He sacrificed tens years of his cultivation—ten years of his own life to heal you. ____ was always by your side, feeding you, caring for you and this is how you repay him? By breaking his heart.”
“I-I didn’t mean to lead on Master ____...”
His response made Jimin chuckle sarcastically, shaking his head. “Didn’t mean to lead him on? So what did those private dinners you two had with one another so many times, or the late night walks through the palace gardens together mean to you?” Jungkook opened his mouth to speak but Jimin continued before he had the chance to. “You’re the first person my brother has ever cared for. After you recovered and told him that you were going to stay longer at the Winter Palace, he thought you were staying for of him. But he didn’t realize you were staying because of her...,” his eyes moved towards Ji-ah, who was still on her knees and head bowed. “His own personal servant.”
“Forgive me, Second Master...,” Jungkook mumbled out. “I never intended to hurt the First Master in anyway, but I can’t control my feelings. I don’t feel that way for him. My heart belongs to Ji-ah. I want to spend the rest of my life with her—please help us, I beg you.”
Jimin closed his eyes and sighed. “Help you? What makes you think I would in anyway help you and betray my brother?”
“Because I know deep down you’re a good person.” The words came out of Jungkook faster than his mind could comprehend it. “And also knowing the Park Clan’s punishment for traitors, me and Ji-ah are wanted dead, and yet you did not killed us on sight. That means you don’t really want to do this.”
Jimin didn’t say anything. “You aren’t like your brother. You aren’t completely heartless like him. You don’t have to do this... Please help us get out Jangsan.”
After a brief silence, Jimin spoke up. “Even if I wanted to help you, there’s no chance that you two would escape. He will find you because you didn’t just break his heart, you humiliated him and nobody dares to hurt the first master of the Park Clan.”
“Can’t you do anything?” Ji-ah speaks up, wincing, expecting another harsh slap from her second master but was shocked to see him stare down at her with hesitation.
Jimin shakes his head. “Father chose him to be clan leader for a reason. He’s much stronger and smarter than me. I won’t stand a chance against him if it comes down to fight.”
“Please, Second Master!” Ji-ah cries out, eyes glistening with tears. “I’ve been a faithful servant to the Park Clan for many years. I beg you, please save us. You’re are only hope...”
Jungkook bends down and wraps his arms around Ji-ah, pulling her close to him and pecking her forehead soothingly. “Please Jimin,” he says softly, staring up at him with his eyes also shining with tears and filled with complete desperation.
Jimin just stares down at the distressed couple, his heart beating uncontrollably inside his chest. He didn’t know what to do. A part of him was screaming at him to help them while the other part was telling him not to betray the Park Clan—not to betray you.
Should he follow his heart and do what’s right, or follow his brain and remain loyal to you?
Before Jimin could give them a real answer, a voice was suddenly heard from behind—a voice that sent chills down all of their spines.
“What makes you think he can save you?”
Jimin’s head whipped around to see you standing at the entrance of the cave, eyes and face without any emotion. His heart sunk in his chest as you slowly made your way towards them, his eyes briefly glancing down at Jungkook and Ji-ah, who were trembling out of fear. Any chance of them escaping was gone.
“Brother, I—” Jimin stepped forward but was instantly cut off by your stern voice, eyes flaring with pure anger.
“Silence! I’ll deal with you later,” you snapped, rolling your eyes at the submissive reply you got from your elder brother, watching as he nodded his head and kept his gaze low and focused on the ground.
The steps you took towards the kneeled couple made their hearts beat uncontrollably. They were slow, intimidating.
Jungkook’s eyes remained on the ground, until they fell upon your feet stopping right in front of him specifically, that’s when he raised his head up to finally meet your stern, emotionless gaze. He was expecting you to immediately start to hit him or scream at him, just anything but you just stood there, doing absolutely nothing and that was so much worse.
The silence was excruciatingly frightening, and Ji-ah could sense the uneasiness radiating from her fiancé. So she decided to speak up first, crawling to you on her hands and knees, fingers reaching over and grasping your white robes. “Please, Master, have mercy on him. I’m the one to blame for everything. I seduced him, I was the one that made the decision to betray you and run away.”
“Ji-ah,” Jungkook stared at her with wide eyes, shaking his head and saying, “What are you doing—” he was suddenly silenced by an invisible force tightening around his neck, his nearly bulging eyes shifting towards you to see your once closed palm now open and aimed right at him. You were choking him.
With barely enough air in him, Jungkook could only watch as you turned your feet towards Ji-ah and took a step towards, bending slightly down so that your face was now inches away from hers. “After everything you’ve done, you still have the audacity to speak to me?” Ji-ah’s head dropped in reply.
Straightening yourself back up, you turned around so that your back was facing towards her, and you spoke with such calmness and cruelty, your next words made not only the couple’s heart to stop, but Jimin’s as well. “You may die now...”
Ji-ah gasped at your order, her entire body freezing briefly before nodding her head slowly. “Y-Yes, Master ____.”
“Ji-ah...,” Jungkook grasped out, eyes shining with tears as he attempted to fight against the invisible restraints on him but failing miserably. He shook his head, feeling the force around his neck tightening in return. “D-Don’t...,” he tried to say but the only thing came out were small gasps for air. He couldn’t do anything—not that it would change the result.
With Jimin, there was a chance of him and Ji-ah escaping. But with you, he knew that no matter what he did, the ending would not change.
“I-I love you,” Ji-ah says through her small cries. There was nothing that Jungkook do. He could only watch as Ji-ah reached for the small dagger strapped to her waist, pulling the weapon from its leather sheathe and holding the wooden hilt into her hand, aiming the sharp blade right at herself.
“P-Please,” Jungkook tried to say again, attempting to reach out for her but it was too late. Through his teary eyes, he watched as Ji-ah, the love his life, force the blade right into the center of her chest, and at the same time Jungkook felt himself get pierced in the heart. The tears that were threatening to spill finally escaping from the sight in front of him. The blood seeping through her robes, the life leaving from eyes and her body collapsing onto the hard ground.
The moment Ji-ah’s body hit the cold ground, Jungkook felt the invisible force around his neck disappear, that’s when he felt himself burst. His cries of pure agony echoing throughout the cave. He crawled towards his fiancée’s lifeless body, taking her into his arms and running his hands through her long, soft brown hair as tears poured out of his eyes and slid down his face. “I’m sorry, my love. I-I failed you. I failed to protect you...”
Jimin watched the scene in front of him silently, his own eyes tearing up from it. He turned to you, feeling chills form along his spine when seeing you smiling.
Jimin always believed there was redemption for you—there have to be. He wanted the brother he grew up with. He thought that there was way for him to have that again. But after seeing this, how you forced someone to their death and were literally laughing at the sight that’s when he knew. You were too far gone.
You took a step towards them, the sound of the pebbles of the cave crunching underneath your feet causing Jungkook to lift his head up and stare at you through his teary eyes. You were unbothered by his expression, bending down and running your finger along his now dead fiancée’s pale cheek, the action making Jungkook instantly grab your wrist and tightening his grip on you. “You shouldn’t hate me. She did this to herself.”
“I shouldn’t hate you?” Jungkook repeats your words with disbelief, releasing a sarcastic laugh. “You’re the one that killed her!”
“Because she betrayed me,” immediately firing back, you yanked your wrist out of his grasp and stood back up onto your feet. “You act like I’m the only clan leader that kills traitors. Anyone else would’ve done the same thing if they were in my position.”
“She didn’t hurt anyone though,” Jungkook cries quietly, resting his forehead against Ji-ah’s.
Your jaw clenched, hand placed over your slow beating heart. “That’s where you’re wrong...”
Silence filled the cave for a brief moment, the only sound being heard was Jungkook’s soft cries as he held his love in his arms. “Why haven’t you killed me yet,” he asks, raising his head up to see you still standing in front of him but with your back now facing him. “I am the one that hurt you, more than her.”
You chuckled, sending chills down his spine. “That’s because I have other plans for you.”
That was the last thing Jungkook heard before darkness soon suddenly began to surround him, taking him completely.
Jimin watched with wide eyes as you forced the rogue cultivator into unconsciousness. “Brother, what are you doing to do to him—”
“You have no right to speak to me without permission,” you snapped at him, head dropping in submission at your loud, sharp tone. “Tell me, Park Jimin, what were you doing out here alone?”
“I-I came here to capture the traitors and deliver them to you, brother.”
Your eyes flared with anger, but before you had the chance to speak, two voices were heard from outside of the cave. You and Jimin both turned to see two of your disciples standing there, the same ones that came to you with the information about your brother and the two traitors. They both ran up to you, bowing their heads in greeting and with respect.
“Master, we found you!”
“I thought I told you to stay at the palace,” you reminded them, eyes slightly squinting them. “How dare you ignore my order!”
“Forgive us, Master!” The two disciples instantly fell down onto your knees and bowed their bodies completely forward, their foreheads resting against the cold, rough rocky ground of the cave. “You’ve been gone for quite some time and we got worried.”
You sighed, “Very well.” You then nodded your head at Jungkook, who was laid out unconscious on the ground. “Take the rogue cultivator back to the Winter Palace and keep him in my chambers.”
“Yes, Master.” The two disciples rose from the ground and bowed their heads, walking over and retrieving the body. “Are you coming, Master?”
“No,” you slowly shook your head, eyes never leaving Jimin who had his gaze trained anxiously on the ground. “Second Master Jimin and I have something to discuss—and leave Blossom,” you quickly added, noticing one of the disciples reaching for the chain lead around the dragon’s throat.
Jimin’s heart sunk at your words.
Once you two were alone, you approached Jimin in slow, intimidating steps until you were standing only a few inches in front of him. Suddenly, his face was met with the rough impact of your hand connecting with his cheek. He could already feel his face swelling from the contact. “Enough with the lies. I know why you were really out here? You were planning to let them get away from me.”
Jimin’s eyes widened, hand over his cheek. “That’s not true, brother, I-I swear—” he was met with another harsh slap.
“Then why did you leave the palace in secret?” You questioned him, reaching over and grasping his robes. “Why didn’t you inform any of the disciples about the location of the traitors—and more importantly, why didn’t you tell me?”
Jimin was speechless. He opened his mouth but no words came out. He had no excuses for this.
“You’re weak,” you seethed, releasing your grip on him and pushing back, causing him to stumble slightly. “You have always been against me since the very start...”
“That’s not true...,” Jimin cries out, eyes stinging with tears.
“Every command I would give out, you always had something to comment about it.” You continued to speak, your own eyes beginning to tear up, but you quickly blink them away before he could notice. “You never listen to my orders, instead you go off and do your own thing. You don’t respect me.”
Jimin lowered his head in complete shame and fear. “I dealt with it for so many years—but this, this was the last straw. You chose a traitor and a whore over your own family.”
“Brother, I—” Jimin tried to say but you shook your head, silencing him, eyes closed and sighing. “We are not brothers anymore. Not after this.” Jimin’s head dropped.
“So you remember what I said about traitors?” Jimin gasped, eyes widening as he raised his head to stare at you with disbelief and shock. “Brother—I mean, ____, you wouldn’t…”
You didn’t say anything, only pushed passed him and made your way out of the cave. Jimin was about to chase after you but stopped when he saw you approach the dragon that remained on guard at the entrance of the cave like the obedient pet it is. “Blossom.”
Just from the tone of your voice, the beast understood what you meant. Jimin’s heart sunk into the pit of his stomach when he watched the large, ferocious monster turn its head away from you and focused on him, teeth baring at him and eyes flaring with intense hunger. “____—please! Have mercy on your only family member left!”
You ignored his cries, no matter how loud they were, and continued your way back to the palace. Soon after, it fell silent.
Blossom rushed her meal.
The second master of the Park Clan, Park Jimin, didn’t even have the opportunity to scream when the savage beast broke through the entrance of the cave and was charging straight towards him.
Jangsan Valley was always beautiful at night.
Standing outside on your balcony, you took in the stunning view, admiring the moonlight reflecting off the valley. The sight was calming.
Whenever you needed to cool off, this was the place where people could find you—every time. And you definitely needed this after what happened today.
After the betrayal—from that traitorous whore, your own blood, and him, you deserved to have time by yourself.
But that sadly your time of peace didn’t last long when you suddenly felt a pair of strong arms wrap around your waist from behind. Normally you’d punish anyone who dare interrupt your alone time but just from the touch this person—this man, you knew exactly who it was.
“What are you doing out here, love?” Just from the sound of his voice, you could feel chills start to form along your skin.
“Just admiring the view,” replying back, you turned around to face him and wrapped your arms around his neck, a wide, genuine smile on both of your faces. “Why aren’t you in bed? It’s late.”
“Was waiting for you,” he mumbled out, leaning down and nuzzling his face into the crook of your neck, placing delicate kisses along your skin, over the red-purplish marks that were starting to fade. “Missed you…”
Your smile only grew in size from his words. “Well, I’m here…so how about you take me to bed then, my love?”
You could feel him smirk against your neck before hearing him say, “as you say, darling.”
Suddenly, you were lifted up from the ground by his large hands that were gripping the back of your thighs, your legs wrapping around his waist instantly. He didn’t waste anytime before crashing his lips against yours while carrying you to your chamber bed. The kiss was messy, filled with nothing but passion and absolute lust.
As he laid you gently on the bed, you ran your fingers over the smooth, crimson sheets as he stripped himself from his inner robes, revealing his strong, muscular scarred body. Your mouth watered at the sight of every vein, every flex of his bulging muscles.
“See something you like, darling?”
You hummed in reply, licking your lips seductively. He crawled onto top of the bed, hovering himself over you and began to place open mouth kisses along your neck and exposed collarbone, leaving fresh new marks on your skin, all while his hands impatiently played with the strap of your robes, untying them and slipping the nearly transparent material from your body, revealing your smooth, unscarred skin. When his eyes fell upon your body, completely bare and laid out for him, he could not stop the groan from spilling out of his mouth.
You were truly breathtaking, and you were all his—at least, that’s what he thought. But in reality, he was yours.
Jeon Jeongguk was finally yours.
Your chambers were almost silent, the only sounds being heard were Jungkook’s soft snores. He was sound asleep, arms wrapped tight around you, holding you close to him.
While he was sleeping quietly right next to you, you were unable to even get a wink of sleep yourself. Your mind was filled with all kinds of various thoughts that just wouldn’t leave your head no matter how hard you tried. More specifically, your mind was too engrossed on a certain book laying untouched on your desk across from your bed.
You couldn’t stop yourself from slightly sitting up, careful not wake your sleeping lover beside you. Your eyes were trained on the manual that was barely tucked underneath other laid out scrolls, the title of the worn out book burning into the center of your brain.

Your first few days at the Kim palace has been quite challenging for you to get accustomed to—but you didn’t regret choosing this. This was your new home, your new life and you wouldn’t give it up for anything in the world.
After a long time of feeling mentally drained by everyone and their actions towards you, you were finally happy.
“Physician ____,” a feminine voice suddenly startled you, making you turn around to see one of the nurses that works alongside you entering your office with a small grin on her face. “On my way here, I happened to run into his Highness and he asked me if I could give this to you,” taking her hand out from behind her back, a smile grew on your lips when your eyes landed on the single rose she held.
“Thank you,” you bowed your head softly at her, taking the single flower from her hand placing it in the vase on your desk that already had around six other roses inside. You weren’t shocked to see a flower, in fact you were actually expecting it. Ever since your first day in the palace, you’ve been receiving gifts from a certain royal, the gifts ranging beautiful florals to delicious pastries. And even though you wouldn’t considered these as surprises anymore, the thought behind them made your heart swelled. You never received gifts from him before, whether that be during or before you two even got together.
“His Highness is quite smitten for you,” your aid teased you with a smile, making small hints of blush to form on your cheeks. “Seriously, in all my years of working for him, I’ve never seen him so infatuated over someone before.” That only made the heat on your face grow and spread even more. “He has never stopped speaking about you ever since Prince Jimin’s wedding—I think he is even starting to annoy his own advisors.”
When hearing that you couldn’t help but chuckle. He’s been thinking about you ever since that day? That was almost more than three months ago. “I’m curious as to why you haven’t accepted his confession by now, he is practically courting you.”
“It’s inappropriate,” you lied right through your teeth. Even though it was true, that it would be inappropriate for you to have a relationship with him—despite you being in one previously, you just didn’t want her to know the truth. You didn’t want her to know that you were utterly terrified to let another person in, afraid that if you did that you’ll just end up with your heart broken all over again. “It’s wrong for someone of my class to be in any sort of relationship with a royal. Don’t you know that any kind of romance with one would be considered as treason for people like us?”
“His Highness is different,” the nurse continued to pester you about it. You were quickly growing annoyed but hid it really well with a kind smile. “He has rejected countless proposals from many other kingdoms. He has never shown any interest towards anyone—until you.” She began to assist you with unpacking the products you purchased from the traveling merchants that visited the palace today, which consisted of new medicinal herbs, medicines, and bandages, along with some rare minerals that were perfect ingredients for energy boosters. And all while she was helping you, she was still speaking about a certain royal’s feelings towards you. “Me and the other servants have noticed the change in him. He seems much more happy now that you’re around—less lonely. You’re good for him.”
Her words pierced through your mind like knives. You’ve never been talked about so—positively. You were always hidden in the shadows when you were with him, never complimented, never been in the spotlight or even admired and appreciated. This was all new to you. But you still refused to be with anyone of higher class because you knew that if you did accept Seokjin’s advancements it would only be a matter of time before you’re once again left behind because of a surprised union between him and another royal—just like what happened with him.
“That’s enough, Cho-Hee,” you glared at her, silently scolding her. “I made my decision on this matter already and I’m not changing my mind.” You attempted to dismiss the topic. “Now, if you excuse me, I have to go check on the gardener who injured himself yesterday. Can I trust you to finish unpacking the rest of the medicinal herbs we purchased?”
With a simple nod of confirmation, you left.
“How was your day—was everything alright?”
When hearing his voice, you couldn’t stop the smile forming on your lips as you raised your head up from your desk and your eyes landing on none other than Kim Seokjin standing in your doorway and leaning against the doorframe with his arms crossed over his chest.
“Yes, your Highness, everything is fine.” You stood up from your seat at your desk and bowed your head respectfully him. “You know, you don’t have to keep asking me that question. My stay here has been nothing less than perfect and I’m not going anywhere.”
“I know,” Seokjin lowered his head, attempting to hide the blush forming on his cheeks and failing. “But it’s my duty as King to check on my people and see how they are doing—especially new ones. I have to make sure everything is alright for them, and if they are feeling welcomed and comfortable here, both physically and mentally.”
“So, does that mean you give roses to everyone that is new here?” Seokjin’s felt his eyes instantly widen at your question, lips parted and his words stuck in his throat. Before he had the chance to speak you beat him to it, immediately noticing the panicked expression on his face. “Your Highness, I’m just teasing with you,” the sight of your playful grin making him release a breath of relief. “I know you’re not like that...”
Seokjin could feel his cheeks heat up. “Oh good,” he laughed softly, “because you’re the last person I would want to think of me like that.”
The smile on your face instantly fell at his words. You knew where this going, and despite you not wanting this to happen you couldn’t stop yourself from asking, “and why do you say that?”
“Because m-maybe,” Seokjin’s face was flushed and couldn’t get his words out without stuttering. “...well maybe you would like to go out with me, like a date. We could have a picnic in the palace gardens or possibly eat at some restaurant in the village?—”
“Your Highness,” Seokjin’s face instantly fell at the sound of your soft voice, already knowing the answer. “I’m flattered, but it would be highly inappropriate for us to be involved romantically. And plus, us being together romantically could be very damaging to your reputation. How would other kingdoms think of you—a King, having relations with a mere servant?”
Just as you were thinking this conversation was over, Seokjin continued it, even managing to take a step towards you. “I don’t care what they think of us being together.” When you remained silent, he took another step towards you until he stood right by your side, his chest brushing against your shoulder. “I know the real reason why you won’t give me a chance—I’m not him, you know.”
You froze. “I-I have no idea what you’re talking about, your Highness—” you paused when turning towards him and seeing the sympathetic frown on his face. That’s when you realized that there was no point in trying to cover it up because he already knew the truth. “How do you know?”
“It doesn’t take a genius to figure it out,” he started, making you turn and fully face him and lean against your desk. “Before I went to see you, Prince Jimin treated me with absolute kindness and was very respectful towards me. But after I came back, he did nothing but send glares at me for the rest of the night—plus I saw him following closely behind me on my way back to the banquet hall after leaving your office.”
“I’m not like him,” Seokjin continued to speak, “I won’t leave you for anyone else like he did—”
“That’s what he said too.” You interrupted him, already feeling your eyes sting with tears. “When we first started, he told me that he loved me, that he would never leave me or hurt me—and that is exactly what he did. What makes you any different than him? You royals are all the same. You only care about your throne and future bloodline. Jimin—his Highness abandoned me the moment his eyes fell upon the Princess. How do I know you won’t do the same thing?”
Seokjin just stared at you. Even with your face filled with barely any emotion, the tears shining in your eyes told him otherwise. You’re tired, both physically and mentally. He knew that it was not him that you didn’t trust—you just don’t trust anyone anymore. Park Jimin did not just break your trust, but also your idea of love. Seokjin was willing to change that.
Suddenly, the sound of his fist connecting with his chest caught your attention, making you stare at him confusingly. “I, Kim Seokjin, swear to the Heavens that I’ll never harm ____ ____ in any way—” your eyes instantly widened at his words, “—and if I end up breaking this oath, may the Gods strike me down and may my soul be damned for the rest of my current and future lives.”
“Kim Seokjin, have you lost your mind?” You stared at the young King with wide eyes who was now on his knees in front of you and head bowed before you. You instantly bent down to help him back up onto his feet, resisting the urge to smack him on the side of his head. “You can’t just make those type of promises blindly! Are you insane?”
As Seokjin stood back up, he couldn’t help but chuckle at your panicked yet flustered expression. “Just one chance,” he begged. “Have dinner with me just this once and if you don’t feel anything for me afterwards then I’ll end my pursue for you.”
You released a small sigh, knowing that he was not going to relent until you agree with him. Only being here for a week, you learned from the other servants that Seokjin was known to be a stubborn man—apparently inheriting that from his mother. “Fine,” you finally answered. “You have one chance, and I hope your Highness will respect my decisions afterwards.”
Seokjin couldn’t contain the large grin from forming on his face. “Really?!—I mean, yes, and thank you for giving me this chance...” Seokjin bowed his head gratefully, causing you to gasp slightly.
“You shouldn’t be bowing to me, your Highness.” You told him, which made him shake his head. His next words though, shook you to your core.
“If our night goes well, ____, everyone will be bowing to you.”
You knew dinner the next day was going to be extravagant the moment two servants greeted you outside your chambers. You learned that they were ordered to escort you to the palace gardens where Seokjin was currently waiting for you.
It was strange though, you have to admit, having everyone, both guards and servants bow to you as you passed them on the way to the gardens. But you also had to admit that it felt also nice. You’ve never been treated so nicely and with such respect before. Even when you were with Jimin, you were still treated disrespect by his family and even by the other servants who shared the same status as you.
Just from your short stay in the Kim Palace, you finally realized that you were never appreciated in your former home.
The journey to the palace gardens wasn’t long, thankfully, and when arriving there you were left speechless at the sight. The garden was decorated with many lit candles and blooming flowers, all surrounding a single table where Seokjin stood beside, waiting for you. And when your eyes met his, you froze in place, heart stammering from the gaze he was giving you. He was staring at you with such affection and you didn’t know how to react to it.
You never really received this much attention. Back in the Park Palace, Jimin only ever paid attention to you whenever he wanted something in return. Other than that, you were just another servant in his eyes.
“Physician ____,” one of the servant girls spoke up, breaking you out of your thoughts. “Are you alright?”
You quickly nodded your head, humming, “Y-Yes, I’m fine.”
The servants then slowly guided you to the table, and once you were beside Seokjin, they were then dismissed right after, leaving you two alone.
“You didn’t have to do all of this, your Highness,” you commented, feeling your cheeks start to heat up when seeing Seokjin pull out one of the chairs for you. “A simple meal in the dining hall would be enough for me. It’s not like I can compare this to anything.”
“Prince Jimin never—” Seokjin stopped before finishing his question, noticing the drop in your face at the mention of your former lover, guilt washing over him. “You deserve the best, ____, and how else am I suppose to prove my attraction towards you if not by giving you just that.”
There was no denying the flushed expression on your face now, despite trying your best to hide it. Seokjin sure had a way with words.
“Now please,” Seokjin pushed you in before making his way to own seat across from you and sitting down. “Let’s eat and enjoy the meal—I cooked this myself.”
That made your eyes widen. “Really? The cooks didn’t prepare this,” you asked, glancing down at the plate placed in front of you which consisted of a perfectly cooked steak surrounded by many different types of vegetables. The piece of meat looked thick and juicy—which meant it mostly likely came from a healthy cattle. “Are you sure you’re not saying that just to impress me?”
“Of course not,” Seokjin instantly defended himself, a small pout forming on his lips, but that small pout was replaced with a smile when seeing the teasing grin on your face. “I’ve always been fond of cooking. When I was kid, most my time would be spent in the kitchen with the palace chefs rather than in the study. My mother would always scold me for that.”
Before saying anything else, you tried a piece, and the moment the taste hit your tongue you were left speechless. It was delicious. “Well I can say that all that time you spent in the kitchen has definitely paid off.”
Seokjin instantly felt himself start to blush. “Thank you,” bowing his head, he flashed you a warm smile before also digging into the food.
You thought eating with Seokjin would be filled with nothing but awkward silences. After all, this was the first time you’re sharing a meal with him. You would usually have meals with the other servants while he ate with his advisors and high-ranking scholars. But you were wrong. The rest of the meal was instead filled with easy, constant conservations that flowed smoothly between the two of you.
The two of you spoke about everything, starting from your guys’ childhood, to your families and personal hobbies. If somebody that didn’t know either of you witnessed the way you two were conversing, the way the two of you were laughing, smiling, staring at each other with such affection they would’ve assumed you two were a couple—not that you would blame them. Even though this was your first date with Seokjin, it felt like as if you two have been on hundreds before.
Conversations continued to easily flow between the two of you throughout the night. That is, until you began to question him about one thing—you. “If you don’t mind me asking,” you started to say, seeing the way Seokjin nodded his head, urging you to continued. “Why are you interested in me? What about me caught your attention? If I’m correct, the first time we ever met was at—at the Prince’s wedding.”
The question must’ve triggered something in Seokjin, because next thing you knew the smile on his face dropped. “At first, it was your reputation that caught my attention. Just as I was about send aid to the Park Kingdom because of the plague that was going around, I received word from one of my advisors that a physician from the Park Palace not only helped the people, but also cured the sickness. I also learned that they used their own allowance to buy medicine and supplies for the people.”
You remember that day clearly as if it just happened. The Park family refused to aid the people in the village because they didn’t want to risk any of their staff contracting the disease and bringing it back to the palace. So you decided to sneak out and help the people yourself. Luckily, the illness that was spreading around wasn’t difficult to treat. The only problem was that there wasn’t that much medicine to pass around, and with the Park family refusing to help you had to use your own money to buy the needed medicine. That was the day you became well known in your home town.
“I wanted to meet you,” Seokjin continued to speak. “But I didn’t known anything other than the fact that you were from the Park Kingdom, that’s why I agreed to attend the Prince’s wedding—to meet you. At first, my intention was to persuade you to be my palace’s physician. Somebody with your reputation, with your kind of heart—my people need that type of healer. But when my eyes laid on you for the first time, I was left speechless. You were stunning, and forgive me for sounding cheesy but it was like love at first sight for me...”
You couldn’t help but chuckle, which made Seokjin pout. “Hey! I’m trying to be romantic here and you’re ruining it!”
“Like I was saying,” Seokjin then continued once your laughter died down, giving you playful head shake. “After that, I wanted to get to know you. The real you, not Physician ____—”
“But why me?” You interrupted him. “There are people out there who are far more stunning than I am and who also have greater reputations. Like, what about Princess Hana from the Jung Family? She was labeled as most prettiest woman of the South, that is an impressive title—”
“And Savior of the Park Kingdom is not?”
“But still,” you sighed, frowning slightly. “Marrying someone from another royal family would be way more beneficial than being with someone like—”
“I don’t care about that!” Seokjin snapped, making you jump. Noticing your frightened face, he then hesitantly reached over and grasped your hand, his uneasy breaths relaxing. “My parents never loved each other. They were arranged to be together by their parents for an alliance between their two kingdoms and I don’t want my marriage to be like theirs, where my spouse and I sleep in separate chambers and can hardly be around one another... I loved both of my parents but because of their loveless marriage there was always a rift between us and I don’t want that with my future spouse and children.”
You stayed silent. You didn’t know what to say.
Sensing your discomfort, Seokjin tightened his grip around your hand but felt himself frown at the absence of the feeling of your grip on him. “Forgive me for pouring all of that on you it’s just—” he pauses, signing. “I want you, only you. Not some spoiled brat.”
“So...will you please give me a chance? Give us a chance?”
Seokjin knew you were hesitant on this. With everything that has happened to you with Jimin, how he abandoned, betrayed you—of course you were cautious about going through with this.
Just as he was about to lose hope, he suddenly felt your hand begin to tighten around his as well. That’s when he knew. You were willing to try.
“Physician ____, his Highness has bought you another gift.”
You sighed, raising your head up from the scroll you were currently reading to face your assistant. “What did his Highness get me this time?” You weren’t actually surprised when hearing that you got another gift from Seokjin. It’s been two months since your date with him and not only have you two been on more, but he also started to send you gifts almost everyday.
Cho-Hee only hummed in reply, unsure herself. When you gave her permission with a simple nod, she opened the chest and gasped at the sight of what was inside, catching your attention. “What is it, Cho-Hee?”
You watched as she then pulled out a bracelet, eyes widening when getting a closer glance at it. “It’s green jade, Physician ____.” Your eyes were now wide as well.
“What?” You gaped, standing up from your desk and approaching her, taking the piece of jewelry from her and examining it yourself. This gift is far more valuable than anything else he has given to you so far. Seokjin’s gift started as simple flowers from the palace gardens, then you started getting clothes finer than anything you have seen about three weeks after that. Now, you were receiving jewelry, and not just any type of jewelry but jade. Jade is considered one of the most expensive type of mineral in the world, and he got a bracelet made entirely out of of it. Running your fingers delicately over the bracelet, you asked, “why would his Highness get me something like this?”
Cho-Hee giggled at your rhetorical question, making you stare at her confusingly with a raised brow. “Why are you laughing? If you have something to say to me, then spit it out already!”
“Physician ____, you are quite intelligent when it comes to medicine. But when it has to deal with romance, you are really oblivious...” Cho-Hee says with a teasing tone, making your face flush at her words.
“How dare you something like that to me!” You snapped, eyes hardening and glaring at your aid. “We may be servants, but I’m a higher rank than you. Aren’t you afraid that I would punish you?”
Your threat only made her laugh louder, which then made the heat on your cheeks spread even more and start to move down your neck. “Oh my god, Physician ____ you’re becoming flushed!” Cho-Hee was now pointing at your face, her laughs echoing in your office and surely getting the attentions of other servants passing by.
“Shut up,” you whisper-shouted, grabbing one of the books scattered on your desk and chucking it at her. “Just tell me already!”
“His Highness is courting you.”
Your heart immediately dropped at her words. “W-What? Why is His Highness courting me? We’ve only been together for two months—and not even officially!”
“His Highness is crazy about you, Physician ____.” Cho-Hee pointed out, her teasing tone gone and replaced with a more serious one. “In all my years of serving him, I’ve never met anyone who made his Highness feel this way before—let alone, even catch his attention. You’re truly special to him.”
The more you took in her words, the more you could feel your heart beating roughly against your chest. The heat on your cheeks were now unable to be concealed.
“Excuse me,” was all you said before gently pushing past Cho-Hee and leaving your office. The only thing on your mind at the moment was confronting Seokjin about his ridiculous and completely unnecessary gift he gave you.
While making your way to Seokjin’s chambers, you kept the bracelet in your hand, dangling it in front of your face as you examined it so closely. You still found it unbelievable that he would buy such an expensive gift for you this early in your guys’ relationship—if you can even call it that yet. You and Seokjin never really made anything official with each other. After that night, the two of you would sometimes have meals with one another, take walks together through the palace gardens, and he would even come to your office and help you whenever he had some spare time.
But that didn’t mean you two were officially together—right?
When arriving to Seokjin’s personal chambers, you didn’t hesitate before shouting for him while banging your fists against his door, ignoring the stares you were receiving by passing servants. When the door finally opened after a couple of knocks, you were immediately greeted with a smiling Seokjin. “Why so angry, love?”
Even though you were frustrated, you still couldn’t deny the slight fluttering feeling you felt in your chest at the nickname slipping from him. “What is this?” You lift the bracelet at him, allowing him to get a good look at the green jade.
“A green jade bracelet,” Seokjin answers with an obvious tone, lips forming into a smirk. You rolled your eyes, knowing he was messing with you. “Do you like it? I had the village jewelers make it just for you.”
“Why did you get me this?” You asked, using both of your hands to caress the priceless piece of jewelry. “Why even bother with all those gifts?” Suddenly, what Cho-Hee told you back in your office chamber flashed through your mind again, the question on the tip of your tongue. “Cho-Hee said you were.....courting me. Is that true?”
Seokjin didn’t reply and you thought you were wrong, mistaking his true intentions. But when he suddenly pulled you inside his chambers and closed the door behind you, you were left even more confused. Just as you were about to ask him again, he let out a loud laugh that surprised you into silence. “I’m surprised that you haven’t realize what I was doing yet—” you opened your mouth to speak but Seokjin continued, “—and I’m shocked that Cho-Hee managed to figure it out before you.”
When hearing the truth, you were left speechless—only briefly, though. “Are you insane? We have only been together for barely two months and you are already courting me? Don’t you know how serious something like that is?”
“Of course I do,” Seokjin was quick to fire back, and he couldn’t help but notice how cute you look anxious and flushed. “I still want to court you though.”
Again, you were speechless, even with your mouth wide open, no words were able to escape.
Noticing your troubled state, Seokjin took the bracelet out of your grasp and grabbed your wrist with his other hand, putting the piece of jewelry on himself. You watched intently as he clasped it around your wrist, the feeling of his fingertips grazing along your skin sending chills throughout your entire body. “My feelings for you are sincere. Haven’t I proven that to you already?”
“I want to marry you,” Seokjin continued before you could say anything, taking your hand into his and running his thumb affectionately over the back of your palm. “I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Do you feel the same way?”
You didn’t say anything, which only made Seokjin frown and tighten his hold on your hand. “Stop overthinking with this—” with his other hand, he pointed out your head, “—and start thinking with this instead,” now pointing at the center of your chest, where your heart was. “Now, do you want to marry me and spend the rest of your life with me?”
“I-I...”
| FIVE YEARS LATER |
“Remember Si-Woo, when we see your father make sure you greet him formally, okay? We need to start working on your formalities.”
Staring up at you with dark brown eyes, your seven-year-old son nodded his head and replied, “yes, father.”
With a simple nod, the guard that stood at the entrance of the palace court stepped aside and opened the door for you two enter. And when the two of stepped inside, your eyes immediately fell upon your husband of four years seated at his desk, eyes practically burning into the scroll that was in his hands.
The sound of approaching footsteps caused Seokjin to lift his head up from his desk, a smile instantly forming on his face at the sight of his husband and son coming towards him.
“Greetings, father.” Si-Woo went down onto his knees with his hands clasped together in front of him and bowed.
The smile on Seokjin’s face grew. “Drop the formalities and come here,” he patted his thigh. Si-Woo listened without any hesitation, rising back up to his feet and practically ran to his father and jumped onto his lap, causing him to groan. “Tell me my son, aren’t you suppose to be in school right now? It’s still quite early in the day.”
“Well, when I received word that you have returned to the palace, I took him out so that he—we can see you,” you answered, Seokjin’s eyes moving from your guys’ son to you. “You have been gone for almost two weeks and we both missed you dearly, so I thought Si-Woo deserves an early day off from school so that he could see his father. I hope that’s alright with you, my love.”
Seokjin pursed his lips and only hummed in reply. “It’s fine, and forgive me for my long absence. Providing aid for the storm victims took longer than I anticipated. I hope my wonderful husband accepts my forgiveness,” Seokjin bows his head apologetically, flashing you a teasing smile.
You rolled your eyes him, scoffing playfully at him. “You’re forgiven, my dear husband.”
“If you don’t mind me asking though, what was it like down at the village?” You then asked, noticing the way Seokjin’s smile dropped and was replaced with a frown. “It must be troubling since you were gone for quite some time.”
“It has gotten out of hand,” Seokjin nodded, readjusting Si-Woo on his lap and waving for you to come over to him. You did, and once you were beside him he took your hand into his and began to caress it softly. “Many homes were destroyed during the storm and there aren’t enough supplies for everyone. We might need to start offering rooms here for some of the victims until their homes are repaired.”
You hummed, “I agree. I’ll let the servants know to start prepping rooms and the advisors to send out a message to the public...”
Just as you were about to walk away, you were suddenly pulled back Seokjin, the grip he had on your hand tightening. “Later. Right now, I just want to spend time with my family.”
“Are you sure this can wait?” You watched as Seokjin stood up from his seat, lifting Si-Woo up in his arm while his other arm wrapped around your waist, pulling you against him and no doubt making your cheeks flushed. “This seems really urgent.”
“Just for a few hours,” Seokjin attempted to reassure you, leaning down to press a loving kiss on your forehead, and when he saw the heat on your face he knew he had you. “I haven’t seen my family for a while and I want to spend time with them. “Don’t you agree, Si-Woo?”
“Yes yes, father!” Si-Woo nodded vigorously.
“How about we take a walk around the gardens?” Seokjin suggested, getting another nod from his son.
“Fine,” you sighed, lowering your head to hide the faint smile on your lips. “Let’s go”
Seokjin smirked, tightening the hold that he had on you and Si-Woo before leading the three of you out of palace court and into the outside world.
Lately, time hasn’t been kind to Seokjin.
With the recent storm that swept throughout the kingdom, chaos rose in the villages. Many people were left homeless, jobless with barely to no food. But that’s not just it. Some of the neighboring kingdoms have even started taking advantage of the vulnerable state Seokjin’s kingdom is, rumors of possible invasions spreading throughout his home and only creating even more chaos among the people.
There are some days where Seokjin doesn’t even want to get out of bed in the morning, knowing that no matter what he does or how hard he works to make his home perfect, there’s always a darkness looming over him that destroys everything he has worked for.
Seokjin even has some moments where he thinks that he shouldn’t even be king, that his kingdom—his people doesn’t deserve to have someone with such little experience. He may not be a teenager anymore, but he is the youngest ruler in this generation. His people deserve the absolute best.
Sometimes Seokjin doesn’t even know the point of fighting anymore if everything he has worked and fought for ends up failing anyway.
But times like this, times where he gets to spend with you and Si-Woo alone reminds him what he is fighting for.
He’s fighting for you two—his family.

“Have you heard the news? Prince Jimin is arranged to marry Princess A-Yeong of the Choi Family.” “Really, when?” “By next week.”
You could literally feel your heart breaking inside your chest while the two servants that stood fairly close behind you whispered softly to each other. They were trying to be quiet, but failed miserably. Gossiping was frowned upon in the palace and if anyone was caught doing it, they were punished.
Despite their words making you ache internally, you continued your duties, plucking the grown medicinal herbs out their plots of soil and placing them into the straw basket beside you.
“I heard she is one of the most beautiful women in the country,” the whispering between the two servants continued, “no wonder the King picked her for the prince. With her and prince’s looks, they’ll definitely make a remarkable heir for the kingdom.” The other servant nodded her head in agreement, both of them too engrossed in their conversation to notice you kneeled down in front of them, fingers gripping the herb and tightly crumbling the green leaves.
Suddenly, the sound of footsteps was heard, tearing you out of your thoughts and forcing you back up onto your feet, quickly wiping the dirt stains on your cloths with your bare hands before turning around to face the approaching figure. Your heart stopped inside your chest when seeing who the person was. Park Jimin, the twenty-five year old prince and only heir of the Park Kingdom stood right in front of you, and his eyes were only focused on you. You were too distracted by his intent gaze to even bow—which people of your class is suppose to do in a royal’s presence. “Greetings, your Highness,” the two servants spoke at the same time and bowed when seeing the young prince.
“Leave,” was the only thing he said, his stern voice making both you and the two servants jump slightly. It was rare—and you mean really rare for the prince to ever use that kind of tone. “And if I ever hear you two gossiping again I won’t hesitate to throw the both of you into the dungeon, do you understand?” Their eyes widened at the threat and quickly nodded their heads. “The only reason I’m letting you two off with a warning is because I have more important matters to attend to. Now, leave.”
The two servants practically sprinted away, leaving just you and Jimin alone in the gardens. You were practically shaking at your feet, tearing your gaze away from him and staring down at the ground. As he slowly approached you, you could feel your heart stammering inside when he cupped your chin and tilted your head up to meet his eyes. “I’m guessing from the way you’ve been avoiding all day today, you heard about the news—plus those two servants weren’t exactly being subtle.” And when you chose to be silent he continued, “you know that the princess means nothing to me, right? I love you, and only you. This doesn’t change anything—”
“It changes everything, Jimin,” you cut him off, pushing his hands away and grabbing the basket of medicinal herbs from the ground. “You’re getting married, you’ll have a wife—someone you have to bed with and produce an heir,” you could feel yourself wince at the thought of Jimin being with someone else, being intimate with someone else that wasn’t you.
The relationship you have with Jimin has been going on for about two years, and everything has been perfect—at least until the news about him and the princess getting married began to spread around the palace. Whenever you tried to bring it up to Jimin he’d just say that it was just a rumor. But now, after hearing other people talking about it—including the King and Queen earlier today, you know it’s true.
“I’m telling you, ____, that this marriage means nothing to me—that girl means nothing to me.” Jimin took you back into his arms, and this time you didn’t fight him, instead you placed your head on his chest. “The only person that I love and will only love is you, you hear me?”
“Promise,” you tilted your head up to see him, holding your hand up to show your pinky finger. That caused Jimin to chuckle before hooking his own pinky finger around yours and saying, “promise.”
You were an idiot to believe him.
The moment Princess Choi A-Yeong stepped inside the palace your heart sunk into your chest.
Jimin’s eyes never left hers as she slowly made her way down the decorative carpet to the three thrones where he and his parents currently sat. You could see his gaze practically burning into her and that was making you feel uneasy. The rumors about her being the most beautiful woman is no doubt true—you can see that now and that only made you feel even more insecure and paranoid. She was dressed in gorgeous pink and white royal robes, decorated with expensive gold jewelry. Her long, black hair that looked like it would go down all the way down to her lower back was held up with a stunning diamond pin. It almost looked like she was wearing the entire palace’s wealth on her, which only made you more self-conscious. After seeing her, there was no way Jimin would choose someone like you, a physician instead of princess—a beautiful princess.
“Greetings, your Highnesses,” the princess bowed, bending her body forward and you swear you could see Jimin attempting to peak at her exposed cleavage. You don’t blame him, like why wouldn’t he? Her body was literally perfection. Her body was slim, yet had curves that would make any man drool. “Thank you for welcoming me into your beautiful home.”
The Queen didn’t hesitate before jumping up from her throne and approaching the young girl and helping her up with a wide smile on her face. “Oh my dear A-Yeong, you don’t have to greet us so formally. You’re family.” That only made the crack in your heart spread even more. You have been serving the Park Family ever since you were a child—you even played with Jimin in the early years, and yet you were still treated like absolute garbage and forced to greet them formally every time. And if you didn’t, you’d get punished.
“I’m sure you know why you’ve been summoned,” the King—Jimin’s father spoke up, earning a nod from the princess. “We’re all here to discuss the proposal of you marrying my son—” “—I accept,” the princess quickly shouts out, surprising just about everyone in the throne room. The reaction though made the King chuckle and smile widely at the young woman. “That’s great! What about you, my boy? Do you agree with the marriage?”
Wait, your mind suddenly stopped, so their arranged marriage hasn’t even been finalized yet?
You turned towards Jimin, expecting him to decline the agreement. But once again you were let down, your heart finally shattering into millions of pieces when hearing his answer, “I accept.” You didn’t realize you were nearly crying until the Queen called out for you, catching your attention and making you quickly wipe the tears before facing her. “Yes, your Highness?”
“____, would you take A-Yeong to her chamber.” You opened your mouth to answer, not knowing what to say exactly. “Umm, your Highness I’m no longer a servant—I’m a physician now, for a year—” “Then what are you doing here then and not at your part of the palace?” She then asks, her tone instantly changing and making you jump slightly at the harshness of her voice.
You quickly bowed your head apologetically. “Forgive me, your Highness, I’ll take my leave.” You turned around and started to leave. If you were being honest the reason, you were here was because you wanted to see the princess yourself—which wasn’t the best idea for your heart. And just as you were about to step out of the throne room, you suddenly heard Jimin’s voice again and his next words only brought more pain to your chest. “I’ll show her to her room, mother.”
Swallowing the lump in the back of your throat, you started making your way back to your section of palace like the Queen requested you to do so—which happened to be in the far end where no one goes to except for treatment for injuries or illness. You never had any visitors that wasn’t there for medicinal purposes except for Jimin, who would sneak into your chambers almost every night to sleep with you—and you couldn’t help but feel like those nights were slowly coming to end now that the princess and his future wife was here.
When arriving to your chambers, you were shocked to find somebody sitting on the edge of your bed—and this wasn’t just anybody. Your eyes widened when seeing the former Queen of the Park Kingdom, Jimin’s grandmother right in front of you. “Your Highness,” you were about to bow your head but was stopped midway when she reached over and placed her hands on your arms. “Oh honey, you know you don’t have to greet me so formally.”
Raising your head back up, you asked, “if you don’t mind me asking, what are you doing here? I’m sure you have way more urgent things to do other than waiting in my chambers for me.” You watched as she then took you into her arms and gently rubbed her hands up and down your back soothingly. “I heard about the marriage,” was all she said at first before feeling the tears build up in your eyes again, “how are you doing, honey?”
Jimin’s grandmother always treated you nicely. Out of everyone in the palace she was the only one who has ever made you feel welcomed and loved—excluding Jimin. She was the family you always wanted but never could have. She was also the only one who knows about your relations with her grandson and chose to stay silent, saying how your happiness was important than some royal tradition.
You leaned yourself into her and whispered to her, “he’s going to marry her...,” a single tear escaping and sliding down your cheeks, “he’s going to have a family with her and leave me—”
“Oh stop it,” she quickly cut you off, running her hand comfortingly through your hair. “Jimin loves you so much, ____, he looks at you like you are his whole world.” She tries to reassure you, but when seeing the downed expression on your face she then asks, “what’s wrong sweetie?”
And your next words made her heart break. “She’s now his whole world.”
Jimin’s grandmother spent the rest of the day comforting you, making you sure you were eating and resting instead of stressing over everything that is happening right now. And once she knew you were asleep, that’s when she decided to leave.
But you didn’t stay asleep for long. Only a few hours passed until you found yourself waking up, instantly noticing the dark sky and bright moon shining through your chamber’s windows. The next thing you noticed was the empty spot beside you on your bed—which is where Jimin would usually be sleeping. Every night, every since you two started your relationship he would sneak over to your chambers to sleep with you. It has been happening for over seven hundred and thirty days without any change but now, he wasn’t here—the same night the princess arrived to the palace. Many insecure and paranoid thoughts began to consume your mind, making your heart ache and palms start to sweat.
You stood up from your bed and made your way out of your chambers, curious as to where Jimin could be and your first idea was to try his room. When getting there, you could barely notice the candle light shining from underneath door, that meant he was in his room. With your eyes trained on the bright light, you slowly reached over for the indent of the door and just as you were about to slide the door open, the sound of someone laughing stopped you. But it wasn’t just any kind of laughter, it was a woman’s laughter. You froze completely, heart stammering heavily inside your chest and legs trembling, nearly giving out. You then slowly slid the door open just barely so that there was a small enough crack to see through, and your heart sunk in your chest at the sight in front of you.
The princess could be seen laying on Jimin’s bed, the same you’ve laid on numerous times, dressed in a thin layer of pink robes, hair untied and down her back, and face clean. You glanced to the side to see Jimin laying right beside her, also wearing his sleepwear. Smiles were on both of their faces, the sight breaking your heart.
“I’m glad we’re doing this,” the princess suddenly spoke up, running fingers up down Jimin’s arm. “Sleeping in the same bed together will let us get closer to one another, know each other better.” You don’t know why, but you were expecting him to tear his arm away from her but you were once again let down, tears stinging in your eyes when seeing him grab her hand and press a kiss along her knuckles. “Me too, and by the time of our wedding comes, we’ll be closer than ever because of this.” It was like each word he was saying was a knife piercing your heart. You couldn’t watch anymore, you couldn’t watch him begin to move his lips up her arm to her shoulder blade and neck, leaving even more kisses along her smooth, pale skin. You pushed yourself away from the door and headed back to your room with tears sliding down your eyes and silent sobs spewing form your mouth.
When entering your room you immediately climbed underneath the covers and attempted to let sleep engulf you. You just wanted to forget about this day entirely and hope all of this was just a terrible dream. But you couldn’t have that either, because not even ten minutes later you heard your chamber’s door slide open. You didn’t even have to turn around to know who it was. With your back facing your towards him, you were relieved he couldn’t see your tear-strained face. You didn’t have the energy to deal with this.
“Why are you so late,” you asked, using all your strength to conceal the shakiness in your voice. You were silently hoping that he would tell you the truth, because if is honest, there is at least a small chance of you two working through this. “I was helping the servants prepare the guest chamber for the princess,” and that’s when you felt your heart shatter. “They were having trouble setting up the bed.”
Liar, your mind screamed. “Are you going to sleep here tonight?” You asked, despite already knowing what his answer is going to be. You just wanted to hear what kind of excuse he was going use. “I-I shouldn’t,” you could hear the stutter in his voice, “there’s a lot more wandering eyes now that the princess is here...”
“Okay.” Your answer shocked Jimin. He was expecting you to beg him to stay or at least ask more questions. He certainly wasn’t expecting you to just accept it. “Baby, is everything okay?” He doesn’t notice the single tear falling from you at the mention of the nickname. He doesn’t even notice your body trembling as he approaches the side of the bed. “Yes, just tired,” you quickly said, not wanting him to be anywhere near you. “You should head to bed, it’s late and I’m sure you have some important royal duties to attend to early tomorrow morning.”
Jimin stayed frozen by your side, staring down at your lying figure with complete confusion before mumbling out a soft “goodnight” and finally leaving your room. And the moment you heard your chamber doors close, that’s when you let the silent sobs escape.
You were fool to believe him—to believe that everything would be alright.
As more and more days passed, the more it seemed Jimin was drifting away from you slowly. You thought that what happened that night was just a one time thing, that you would later have him in your bed once again, laying beside you.
But he never returned. No, instead you would always find him with the princess, not even bothering to share a glance in your direction whenever you happened to stumble upon them two. He didn’t bother to acknowledge you, treating you as if you never even existed. And it wasn’t just the sight of the two of them together and him ignoring you that hurt you, but also that he never officially ended things with you—he just slowly slipped away from you, from your life. He acted like there wasn’t anything between you two—ever, and that hurt you more than anything. Jimin was treating you as if you were nothing but a mere servant to him, and that’s it.
Throughout the past few days, whenever you would take a peaceful walk around the palace you always ended up finding them together, arms linked with one another and sharing smiles and laughs and occasional kisses that only forced the knife that was already in your heart deeper inside your chest. Whenever you saw them together, you began to notice a certain glint in his eyes—love, which made you realized he never really had that with you—at least, not as strong as it was towards her. You never thought you would ever feel this much pain. You wouldn’t even wish this on your worst enemy because it literally felt like you were dying on the inside, your heart breaking and your entire body completely shutting down.
You thought the amount of pain you were going through couldn’t get any worse. But once again, you were wrong. You found yourself assisting the other servants with the preparations—forced by the Queen herself and you couldn’t just say no to her because she was the fucking Queen. So that’s how you ended up in the ballroom instead of your own office, helping the servants set up the chairs, hang up the gorgeous decorations and even build the pristine, white alter. You lost count of how many times you got scolded by the decorators, due to yourself being lost in your thoughts, picturing this as your wedding—that you were the one that was marrying Jimin, not her.
But every time you’re brought back to reality—you’re reminded that this isn’t for you. That you aren’t the one the marrying Jimin, or the one he is going to spend the rest of his life with. You’re just a nobody to him, that’s it. It tore you apart that the many years of childhood memories with him, and two amazing years of love shared together was completely destroyed in the span of a few days. You never thought that Jimin would treat you this way. The same man who took your first your kiss, your innocence. The same man who would hold you in his arms as you both laid in bed together, placing small, tender kisses along your neck and whisper sweet words into your ear. You just wanted the man that stole your heart back again.
Today was the wedding, and you were doing everything in your power to distract yourself and hide away from the heartbreaking event.
While the ceremony was happening on one side of the palace, you were on currently the other side in your office, sitting at your desk and surrounded by dozens of medical books, reading them and hoping that it would help distract you from your thoughts—which it did, slightly. You love reading, and it could be any book, but medical ones have always interested you the most. Jimin knew that. Whenever he would travel to neighboring kingdoms for political reasons, he’d always bring back medical books for you that he bought from other physicians or merchants.
And there you go again, thinking of him when you’re trying to do the complete opposite of that. Why couldn’t you be like Jimin? Why were you so hung up on him while he easily threw you aside as if you were some piece of garbage to him? Did the love you two have for each other—or the two years you spent with one another mean absolutely nothing to him? Did he want to break your heart, because if so then he succeeded—
“Excuse me, sir,” you suddenly heard someone say, tearing you out of your thoughts and turning towards the doorway where you found yourself making eye contact with a fairly older, handsome man. The first thing you noticed when meeting his gaze was the slight pained expression he had on his face. That’s when you also then noticed the small droplets of blood coming from his right hand. “Could you possibly patch me up, please? There was a tiny incident back in the ballroom.”
You instantly stood up from your seat and approached the injured man, nodding your head. “Oh yes, of course.” You carefully took the injured man’s hand and guided him to one of your patient chairs. “Can you please take a seat while I gather everything I need?” The man listened to your request without any complaint, his gaze never leaving your body as he watched you grab alcohol and bandages before heading back towards him. “So, do you want to tell me how this happened?”
“Well,” the man spoke up softly, watching you with great intent as you applied some the alcohol onto his wound, wincing instantly. “I cut myself with my glass.” You glanced up at the man as you started to wrap the bandage around his palm, wondering if he was going to continue his story but when you saw the way he was purposely trying to avoid your gaze you knew that he wasn’t. The nibble on his bottom lip and hints of blush on his cheeks gave away that he was embarrassed.
“Don’t worry though,” you spoke, attempting to divert the attention away from him and hopefully make slightly less uncomfortable. “Your wound isn’t that serious, only a minor cut so there is no need for stitches.”
“You’re pretty good at that,” the man suddenly complimented, eyes trained on your hands as you patched up his injury, causing you to chuckle. “It’s only a simple bandaging, nothing really that extravagant.” The sound of your soft laughter brought a smile on the man’s face, heat spreading across his cheeks. “I’ve got to say though, I heard the stories about the Park Kingdom’s famous young physician—but nobody seemed to mention how beautiful he is. My kingdom could definitely use someone like you.”
The man’s words left you a speechless—and in a good way this time. After wrapping the white bandage around his injured hand, you were about ask him where he was from. But when lifting your head up from his hand, your eyes then suddenly landed on the insignia that was stitched on his shoulder. “You’re from the Kim Kingdom?”
“Good eye,” the man commented, holding his other hand out. “Kim Seokjin, nice to meet you.” Your eyes instantly widened at the name, hands immediately folding themselves in front of you and bending your entire upper body forward, bowing to the royal man. You’ve heard the stories about Kim Seokjin, how he’s one of the youngest and most respected royal in the country, and how he’s considered to be one of most handsome men to ever exist based on the scholars and matchmakers. But you never seen him physically so you never really knew what he looked like it.
“F-Forgive me, your Highness,” you quickly went to bow but was stopped by his hand on your arm, causing you to pause and glance up at him. “There’s no need to be formal with me, physician. You saved my life, so you deserve my complete respect.” You could hear slightly teasing tone in his voice but he kept his word and bowed to you, bringing a smile and hints of blush on your face. “What is your name, if you don’t mind me asking. I’d like to know who my savior is exactly.”
“____ ____, your Highness” you answered him, bowing your head and feeling his eyes burning into you. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, ____, and I’m serious about the position in my Kingdom—palace specifically. My previous physician has passed and my people and I could use someone with your type of skills.”
“I’m sorry, your Highness, but my place is here.” You don’t know why but you could feel your heart ache when seeing the small frown forming on Seokjin’s here. “The Park Family raised me ever since I was a child and they watched over me after my mother passed away. It would be wrong for me to leave them.”
“Very well,” Seokjin nods understandingly, and you watch as he then reaches inside his robe and pulls out a small crest of the Kim Family. “If you do happen to change your mind, come to my palace and show the guards this. That tells them that I invited you and they’ll take you to me. You’ll be treated way better over there.”
That last sentence made you freeze. “What do you mean by that, your Highness? I-I’m treated quiet fair over here.” You felt your body suddenly straighten out when Seokjin rose from his chair and stood right in front of you, towering over you due to the height difference the both of you shared. “You don’t have to lie to me, ____. The signs are all there, anyone with eyes can see that you are being treated poorly here.”
You remained silent, allowing him to continue. “When was the last time this placed was cleaned,” he asks, swiping his finger across your desk and collecting some dust. The cleaning servants stopped coming the moment A-Yeong showed up and stole Jimin’s complete attention. “I noticed that your office is located on the other side of the palace—completely isolated and away from everyone else. Shouldn’t you—the only doctor in the palace be near everyone else? And why is that you are the only one with medical experience here? Shouldn’t you have at least two assistant nurses aiding you? Every physician must have.”
As more and more questions continued pouring out of his mouth, the more you began to wonder as well. Everything he was questioning about and saying was true. Like, why exactly are you far away from everyone else and why is it that you are the only one here? Before you and Jimin got together, your chambers were in the same section of the palace with the royal family, but once you started having a romantic relationship with him you were suddenly moved to the other side of the home. Jimin made it sound like you were getting an upgrade, having an entire part of the palace to yourself, but now it sounded like he just didn’t want you to be around anyone else—almost like he was ashamed of you. Maybe that’s also why there hasn’t been anybody else hired to aide you with your work, because he doesn’t want the risk of anyone finding out about you two.
“And I don’t even want to ask where you sleep because I think I already know,” Seokjin continues with a sympathetic frown on his face. “You sleep in this section of the palace alone, don’t you?” And when you didn’t say anything back, Seokjin then patted your shoulder comfortingly and said, “just think about it, alright? I promise you won’t regret coming over to work for me instead.”
When you only nodded, Seokjin left you with a gentle brush of his hand against your arm, leaving you alone once again in your office—at least you thought you were alone. But little did you know there was a certain blonde prince standing right outside the door, listening to every word that was shared between you and other royal.
As more and more hours passed, the more you got lost in your thoughts, Seokjin’s words flooding your mind constantly and echoing inside. You were so consumed by them that you didn’t realize the once vibrant sun and bright sky was replaced with complete darkness and the moon shining up high, surrounded by millions of twinkling stars. You definitely didn’t notice the blonde-hair royal standing in the center of your doorway, arms crossed over his chest and eyes burning into you. “Where were you today?”
You froze at the sound of his voice, your gaze refusing to meet his as you still kept your eyes on your medical books scattered on your desk. “There was some things I had to work on here,” you answered him without lifting your head up. “And you can’t really blame me for not wanting to be there, Jimin—I mean, your Highness.”
When finally raising your head to meet his eyes, you couldn’t help but feel your breath get hitched in the back of your throat at the sight of him. Jimin was dressed in his sleepwear, his cotton shirt parted down the middle, exposing his toned chest and making you swallow the small lump in your throat. And after briefly admiring his torso, that’s when you noticed the facial expression that was as plastered on his face. He wasn’t happy. “If you don’t mind me asking, what are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be with your wife?”
Jimin could clearly hear the harshness in your tone, feeling guilty at the sight of you avoiding his eyes but he couldn’t blame you. He knew how he has been treating you lately for these past few days and it was completely reasonable for you to be furious at him. “I’m sorry, honey,” he slowly started approaching you, noticing the way your body tensed at the pet name. “I had to keep up appearances, and with so many new faces around I couldn’t risk anyone finding out about us.”
With your back facing towards him, you could slowly feel your heart start to quicken when feeling his arms suddenly slipping around your waist and pressing soft, delicately kisses along the back of your neck. “I love you and only you, baby. You’re the one I want but you know I have no power over this.” Every word that he was saying made your heart beat faster and Jimin knew that because he could slowly feel you start to relax against him, bringing a small smirk on his face. He knew exactly what to say to you to make you fall back to him. “I promise you—give me more time and we will be together, okay? Do you trust me?”
When noticing the clear hesitation in your eyes, Jimin leaned down and pressed his lips softly against yours. He thought you have finally given up on him but he then suddenly started to feel you kiss back after a few seconds, causing him to smile against your lips. Jimin knew this was wrong, giving you hope that the future you wanted with him can still happen when he knew that it was not possible now that he was married—not like it could ever happen anyway. It was not just impossible for a royal and commoner to be in a relationship, but also the family of the royal would be forever shunned and the commoner they chose to be with would be executed—and yet, Jimin still chose to pursue you.
At first Jimin thought you were the love of his life, but after meeting A-Yeong, he realized that he never actually loved you. In just the one week he has known the princess, she made him feel things he has never felt with you. You never once made his heart stop at the sight of you, or took his breath away. Your presence never brought a real, genuine smile on his face, instead a more forced one. Jimin was confused why he was suddenly feeling this way, but he then started to think back to where you two first started. He was stressed out over his studies and you were the first person he ran into that day, and next thing he knew he was back in his chambers with you underneath him, crying out his name as he thrusted into you mercilessly. That’s when a new routine of him coming to you whenever he needed to release some stress started.
That’s what you were always to him—a stress reliever, and it took meeting A-Yeong and getting to know her for him to finally realize that. But for some reason when the thought of you leaving him ran through his kind, it made feel sort of uneasy. He wasn’t in love you, he knew that. But you leaving him meant he wouldn’t have anyone to release his stress onto, and he couldn’t just sleep with any servant because they were all loyal to his parents while you were more independent—which was beneficial for his case. He didn’t want to lose you—correction, he didn’t want to lose the sex. Yes, he loved A-Yeong but she was purely vanilla and he found that bland. But you, you were the most perfect partner that allows him to try and do anything he wanted and he couldn’t lose that. So Jimin did the one thing he knew that would convince you to stay with him. He fucked you—or in your words, “made love.”
With his lips still moving with yours, Jimin pulled away and turned you around so that his chest was now pressed up against your back. “I love you,” he whispered into your neck as he placed kisses down along your skin as he slowly stripped you out of your robes until you were completely bare and ready for him.
Jimin spent the entire night with you, using everything in his power to convince you to stay. He would whisper sweet words into your ear while thrusting into you at a rough pace, each thrust sending your body forward and a low, whimpering moan to come out of you. In between thrusts, Jimin would press a soft, tender kiss underneath your earlobe and whisper “I love you.” He would roll his eyes when he would only get a moan in reply—that not being what he exactly wanted to hear. But after two amazing rounds and you both later laying in your bed and in his arms, when he finally heard you say those three words he knew that he got what he wanted.
You were his, and only his.
Once again, you were a weak fool to believe him. You weren’t surprise to find your bed empty the next morning.
But you being you, you believed he left early in the morning so that nobody would find out that he stayed there with you when in reality, Jimin actually left the moment you fell asleep so that he could go back to his wife make real love with her, and soon after fall asleep with her in his arms.
The next day when you found Jimin once again ignoring you completely, thinking it was just him acting so that nobody grew suspicious of you two. But as days went by, and those days soon turned into weeks, and those weeks turned into two months since you even spoken to Jimin, you came to realize that he was ignoring you as if that night you two shared didn’t even happen.
But you being the oblivious person that you were, you kept hope. You’d spend nights staring at your door, hoping that one night he would come into your room to lay with you, to hold you in his arms again. But it never happened.
It wasn’t until three months later, when the princess came to see you that you reached your last straw. She claimed to visit because she wasn’t feeling well, and after checking her out, finding out what her symptoms were you came to find out that she was pregnant—exactly three months pregnant. Which meant Jimin slept with her the same night he slept with you. That is when you finally accepted the fact he wasn’t yours anymore and that the future you pictured having with him is never going to happen.
That’s when you had the thought of leaving. There is no way you were going to stay here and suffer for the rest of your life. So, later that day you found yourself packing your things such as clothes and handwritten medical records into a small bag, comfortable for travel. It’s not like you wanted to leave in the first place—you love the people that live and work here, they were like a family to you. You just don’t know if you even have the strength to endure this pain any longer.
As you were shoving the last piece of clothing into your bag, a soft, delicate voice caused you to freeze. “Where are you going?” Turning your head towards your chamber door where the voice was coming from, your eyes landed on the former Queen—Jimin’s grandmother standing there with a concern look on her face. You couldn’t help but feel your heart ache at the sight of the small pain in her eyes. Seeing your nearly empty room and the packed bag laid out on your bed, she didn’t need an answer because she already knew.
You walked towards her and took her hands into yours, offering a warm, heartfelt smile. “I cannot stay here anymore, your Highness—I-I can’t stay and watch him with her...” You could see tears forming in her eyes as you spoke, flashing you an understanding frown and nod. She placed her other hand on top of yours and leaned over to give you small peck on the cheek. “Promise me that’ll you take care of yourself while you are out there?” You gave her a small nod which made her frown lift up slightly. “And promise me that once things get better you’ll come back and visit me...”
“Of course,” you replied without any hesitation, wrapping your arms around her and pulling her into a hug. “And thank you for everything you’ve done for me—for my mother. If it weren’t for you I would’ve died alongside her that day...” Jimin’s grandmother instantly shook her head and ran her hand comfortingly down your arm. “Don’t say that sweetie, I promised your mother that I would watch after you—” she suddenly then paused, “I’m sorry that I wasn’t able to keep that...”
“Don’t blame yourself for what happened,” you quickly reassured her, leaning forward to press a kiss on her cheek. “It’s not your fault for how the King and Queen has treated me lately ever since my mother passed. And as for J-Jimin—” you stuttered, tears stinging in your eyes once again. “—never mind. I should go, the guards shifts are changing right now and this is my only chance to slip out without being detected.”
With one last kiss on her cheek and hug goodbye, you left your room with your bag in a hand.
You thought leaving the Park residence would be something hard for you to do and accept. But the moment you took one last glance at the beautiful palace and took your first step outside, you felt as if a huge weight was then suddenly lifted from your shoulders.
This is your life now—a new beginning.
“Your Highness,” Kim Seokjin raises his head at the sound of his name being called, his eyes landing on his advisor entering his office and bowing his head in front of him. “There’s somebody here to see you.”
Seokjin was about to ask him who it was, but he was left speechless when you suddenly appeared behind his advisor. Even with your clothes slightly torn, probably from your journey here and the faint signs of dirt on your face, you still looked beautiful as ever to him.
You were truly breathtaking in his eyes.
“Physician ____,” Seokjin stood up from his seat and approached you with a smile grin on his face. “What are you doing here?” He asks, and your next words to him made the grin on his face grow ten times more wider.

Min Yoongi is a cautious, yet observant man.
Whoever steps foot in his palace, he makes sure to know everything about them. Who they are, they’re background, appearance, and how they approach him. Each and every thing can help him learn who he can trust, and who he cannot, who are his allies—and who are his enemies.
Yoongi stood by his palace’s entrance, accompanied with his guards and greeted his special guests, one by one as they walked up his home’s grand steps. He makes sure to take notes on each and every person’s facial expression, their appearance, chosen attire, and the certain way they walk up to him.
Anything could benefit him into knowing them. Their wealth and clan can be identified based on their specific appearance and choice of clothing. Their facial expressions help him learn what their true feelings and intentions are towards him that are hidden by their fake smiles and words. And lastly, the way they walk up to him can help him know the type of personality they have, whether that be obedient and innocent, or arrogant and untrustworthy.
The way he learns about his guests have never failed him. That was, until he met you.
Yoongi would be lying if he said he wasn’t astonished when his eyes laid on you for the first time. There were many things that left him utterly speechless when meeting you. For one, when his advisor told him that his guest would be bringing his wife, he was expecting a woman—not a man.
Another thing that left Yoongi speechless was your appearance, mostly your attire. You were dressed in feminine-like clothing, silk robes that were decorated with gold jewelry instead of fine material clothing with armor plating like what many men of royalty wear. And you also didn’t hold a blade like most men do too. Instead, you held a simple wooden decorative fan.
And lastly, your eyes.
Yoongi has a remarkable judge of character. Maybe not as good when it came to you, but still adequate. On the outside, your eyes were shining with gentleness and a kind greeting. But he could tell there was something else hidden behind them—something that left him intrigued by you.
You had an agenda—plans, and Yoongi was determined to find out what they are.
The welcoming feast was extremely dull.
Yoongi absorbed gallons of wine into his system, hoping that would help numb his mind and get through the rest of the evening without having to tear somebody’s head off from their body.
And apparently you thought the same as he did. Across the table, Yoongi watched as you fanned yourself out of boredom while everyone else were socializing with one another, an unamused facial expression shown on your face. Yoongi couldn’t help but chuckle behind his glass when seeing one of the other wives say something to you and you flashed her a quick smile before dropping it back down into a straight line.
It seems his attention on you didn’t go unnotice because next thing he knew, your eyes were now on him. Yoongi was expecting hints of disgust or uncomfort from you, but instead he was met with sly smirk and a raised brow.
Yoongi watches intently as you leaned over and whispered into your husband’s ear. Your husband—Kim Taehyung then stood up from his seat and bowed his head, “Excuse me, your Majesty.”
Yoongi turned his head towards your husband, diverting his attention completely away from you.
“My wife is not feeling well at the moment, so with your permission, would it be alright if he can take his leave from the feast early?”
The entire dining hall fell silent, shocked expressions plastered on everyone’s faces at the table.
Nobody has ever dared to leave one of Min Yoongi’s feasts before. Who would want to, right? It’s considered a great honor for one self and their kingdom to be invited by the Emperor himself to attend one of his events.
Whispers began to spread amongst the guests.
“How shameless is Kim Taehyung’s wife?”
“Wanting to leave the Emperor’s feast early? Utterly shameless I tell you.”
“That Taehyung needs to discipline his wife.”
“Doesn’t he know how important his Majesty’s events are? And he wants to leave just because he isn’t feeling well? Unbelievable.”
“He needs to learn some manners—”
Anxiety swept across Taehyung’s face when hearing the gossips coming from the other royals, eyes wide and mouth gaped open with panic. “Forgive me, your Majesty, I never intended to—”
With just the clear of his throat, everybody fell silent once again and all eyes were now on him. Yoongi’s gaze would shift between you and your husband, curiosity filling his veins when noticing that there wasn’t any signs of illness presently visible on you. You weren’t trembling, your eyes weren’t red and skin wasn’t showing any signs of flushness. You looked fine.
That only caused more questions to form in Yoongi’s mind. Like, what do you exactly want, and what is your reason for being here? Because according to his advisor, you weren’t even part of the guest list until today. That only raised even more suspicions he had towards you.
And it’s not like he can just throw you out—actually, he can. It’s just that he doesn’t want to because now he’s curious, and he wants to see how things turn out.
“He can go,” Yoongi says a brief silence, immediately noticing the small smile creeping onto your lips. “But take him to see the physician and let him check him out,” and then it dropped.
“N-No, your Majesty,” you spoke up, lips parted. “You don’t have to do that—”
“You’re feeling unwell, right?” Yoongi then asks, smirking at the silence he got in reply. “Well, you should let my physician diagnose you then. Don’t worry though, you’re in great hands.”
One of his guards that stood by his side approached you and started to guide you to the physician’s office. And while you were leaving, Yoongi could see the glare coming from you and aimed right at him.
If you wanted to play games with him, he’ll play.
Wandering through the palace halls at night was something Yoongi usually does whenever he can’t sleep.
And apparently you had the same tendency too.
While mindlessly strolling through his palace’s hallways, Yoongi’s eyes suddenly landed on your approaching figure, the first thing catching his attention was your choice of clothing. You were dressed in golden inner robes, your sleep-wear, and the material was so thin and transparent that every feature about you was visible to him. The sight of your clear, smooth skin and every curve of your body and muscles made his mouth water. It was like you were purposely dressed like that to seduce him.
Another thing that caught his eye was the small, slightly torn grayish book that was in your grasp, which was where your complete attention was on because you still haven’t noticed his presence despite the two of you walking towards the other.
“Hello, your Highness,” you jumped out of fear, eyes wide and closing your book when your gaze landed on him. “May I ask why you are wandering around my palace this late at night?”
“Couldn’t sleep,” you simply answered, fingers tight around the cover the book, which only made Yoongi even more curious as to what you were exactly reading. “And it seems you are having the same problem as well, am I correct?”
Yoongi only hummed in reply, taking another small step towards you until you two now stood only inchest apart, him towering over you and staring down right at you. “Is there something wrong with your chambers? I can tell my servants to move you and your husband into a more comfortable place for you—”
“No no, your Majesty,” you were quick to interject. “Everything is perfect. It’s just that I’ve always had trouble sleeping at another royal’s residence, that’s all.”
Yoongi couldn’t help but find your reason funny, because he has always had trouble sleeping when there were other people staying in his palace.
A brief silence came between you two before Yoongi spoke up once again, “I’ll be taking a quick walk around my garden, you can accompany me if you like.” He didn’t wait for your reply before leaving, but when hearing the sound of your footsteps behind him right after, a smirk grew on his lips.
“You know, you never really introduced yourself when we first met,” Yoongi then brought up while the two of you made your way to the gardens.
“Forgive me, your Majesty,” you bowed your head apologetically before replying, “My name is ___, Kim ___.”
“It’s a great pleasure to meet you, Kim ___,” Yoongi reached down and took your hand into his, pressing a soft, yet tender kiss on the back of your palm, smirking at the evident blush forming on your cheeks. “And I’ve got to say, you are looking quite well for someone that claimed to be feeling sick not even three hours ago,” and that is when your smile dropped.
“Must’ve been my anxiety,” you were quick to reply back, your eyes never leaving his. “After all, I am staying at the Emperor’s palace for the first time.”
Yoongi was impressed honestly, he had to admit. For everything he had to say against you, you had something say right back at him. There isn’t a lot of people who have that type of skill to think of words—believeable words right on the spot. Anybody would believe what you were saying—too bad he isn’t just anybody.
“Must be...,” Yoongi just says, eyeing you slightly. His gaze then shifted onto the book in your hand. “What are you reading there?”
“Oh this,” you held the book up, “It’s called Flowers of the Region—a guide to every type of flower that is grown and can be found in both the South and the North. It’s my favorite book.”
“Well, that’s fortunate,” Yoongi points out, “you like flowers, and we so happen to be going to my garden. What’s your favorite flower?”
“Lily of the Valley,” you answer with a smile. “Have you heard of it?”
“I have,” Yoongi replied, his interest towards you growing even more. Lily of the Valley, despite the beautiful features of the white flower, it is proven to be quite deadly when digested. “They are only found on top of the Southern mountains—but lucky for you, I happen to grow them right here in my garden.”
Your smile grew even wider. “That’s great.”
The rest of the walk to the gardens was in silence with you trailing forward while Yoongi stood back. And with your eyes focused on the path in front of you, Yoongi couldn’t help but send glances at you every once in a while, his eyes burning into your back, admiring at the clear view your smooth skin through the thin, transparent material of your inner robes.
He surely needs to give whoever crafted your sleepwear a raise—and a big one too.
When the two of you finally got to the gardens, you were left instantly speechless at the sight of the many plots of different flowers, ranging from beautiful, vibrant ones that were quite common to dark, mysterious ones that you’ve never even seen before.
Yoongi couldn’t deny how adorable you looked though when seeing his garden for the first time, eyes wide, shining with admiration and your mouth gaped open.
“This is beautiful,” you gasped, leaning down and running your fingers delicately over some flowers.
“Thank you,” Yoongi stood beside you, “I make sure my gardeners take good care of this place.”
Silenced filled the atmosphere as Yoongi stood back and silently watched you admiring the many flowers. Normally he’d be annoyed for someone touching his property, but for some odd reason when it came to you he didn’t mind so much. Perhaps it’s because this might be the only way for him to get close to you and learn about your true intentions—or maybe he just really wants to fuck you.
Yoongi found himself once again staring at you, watching as you bent over to get a closer look at one of the flowers, giving him a perfect view of your ass and hips, both in which he wants to grab and caress with his large hands.
“So,” Yoongi spoke up after some silence, “how exactly did you become the new Lady Kim?”
Yoongi instantly noticed the way your body tensed from his question. “I was his Highness’s personal servant. When his wife suddenly passed away, he was a complete mess and I was the only one that stayed by his side through the entire mourning process. I was the one that comforted him whenever he was feeling down, I made sure he was taking care of himself and helped him with his royal duties.”
Yoongi then noticed your shoulder slumping. “After about a month or so, he started seeking me for a...different kind of comfort.” Sex. “Soon later he decided to make his new wife—the new Lady Kim.”
“You don’t seem so happy about the change in position,” Yoongi commented, “I’m sure this is much better than being a simple servant. You’re a royal now.”
“Oh, I am,” you quickly corrected him, “But being a man and having a feminine title can sometimes make things complicated.”
“Well then, don’t make them complicated.” Yoongi suggested, “You’re not a servant anymore, you’re a royal. They may not respect you now, but you have the power to make them do so.”
“Don’t worry, I know,” you told him sternly. “They’ll learn to respect me. Whether that be the hard way or the easy way—it’s their choice. So you better watch out, your Majesty, or something bad might happen to you,” you laughed softly.
Yoongi released a forceful chuckle, eyes briefly squinting at you suspiciously. It may have sound like a harmless joke, but to him, he could hear the small hints of truth behind them. “Oh trust me, I will. I wouldn’t want you as an enemy.”
“And you as well,” you replied, eyeing him back.
Silence came between you two again, Yoongi leaving you to inspect his garden in peace while he stood back and watched you. It wasn’t until an hour has passed you spoke up again, yawning, “we should head back to bed, your Majesty. We have that conference in the morning with the other royals and we need the energy.”
“You’re right,” Yoongi agreed, nodding and stepping aside so that you could walk ahead of him and back inside the place with him following right beside you. “Let me walk you back to your room.”
You didn’t say anything, only held your head low to hide the small grin on your face as the both of you made your back to the chambers. And as you two got closer to your destination, you both were froze at the sound of moaning.
Yoongi was confused at first as who it could be, but when turning to you and seeing the hardened expression on your face, he knew.
“O-Oh, Taehyung—f-faster, please!”
Yoongi was speechless. He knew many royals took on concubines while being married, but he didn’t know someone could so shameless as to bringing them to another person’s residence alongside their spouse. “Your Highness—”
“Don’t bother, your Majesty,” you spoke calmly, eyes hard and emotionless. “I’m use to it by now and it doesn’t really bother me anymore.”
“Really, it doesn’t?”
You shook your head. “At first it did, but after sleeping with my husband so many times I have learned that the only person he cares to satisfy is himself.”
Yoongi couldn’t help but chuckle. What kind of husband doesn’t have the desire to satisfy is own wife? Maybe he should take you to his chambers and show you exactly what you’re missing. “Well, I-I’m still sorry for you.”
You simply shrugged your shoulders, “it doesn’t matter, your Majesty. Have a good night.”
Yoongi watched as you then opened the door went inside the chamber, causing your husband and the woman to stop and look at you with wide eyes.
“Don’t mind me,” you said to them, not even bothering to glance at them, shocking Yoongi. “I’ll be on the balcony reading my book. Just let me when you two are done.”
Taehyung’s attention instantly went back to the woman that was straddling his lap when hearing your words, hands kneading her breasts and hips and started thrusting back up into her, causing moans to erupt from both of them. Yoongi didn’t why, but the sight of them made his blood boil.
Maybe he should go in there and fuck you in front of your husband? That’ll show him what he is missing out.
Yoongi continued to watch through the crack in the door as you walked past the couple and went onto the balcony. And once you were out of his sight, that’s when he finally got a clear view of the woman on your husband’s lap, and he instantly recognized her. She was one of the servants that accompanied you and Taehyung here. Yoongi distinctly remembered seeing her earlier today, serving you tea after you got back from seeing the physician.
Yoongi glared at the couple, scoffing at the sight. What did that Kim Taehyung see in that whore of a servant that you don’t have?
You are far more enticing than she is.
Taking one last glance at the shameless couple, Yoongi retreated back to his chambers. And while he did so, his mind suddenly went back to you. How did someone so...unique end up with a man like Kim Taehyung? He’s a weak person, a shame to royal blood. You deserve to be with someone with real power, someone who would never leave you unsatisfied, both physically and emotionally. Someone like me.
Yoongi could feel himself harden just from the thought of you.
Damn you for having this type of power over me, his mind cursed. Yoongi has slept with countless of other royals before, both men and women, and he has never encountered someone like you.
You are truly something else.
“Damn,” Yoongi mumbled out to nobody in particular, palming himself through his robes. “How the hell am I going to get rid of this?”
And right on queue, a young servant boy just happened to be walking right by Yoongi when the question ran through his head.
“Stop,” was all he said, making the servant boy freeze in his place.
“Y-Yes, your Majesty?”
Yoongi took slow, intimidating steps towards him until he was towering over him, using his hands to cup his chin and forcing the servant boy to meet his eyes. “How would you feel having the honor of spending the night with your Emperor?”
The servant boy couldn’t stop the small smile from forcing on his face. “I-I would love that, your Majesty.”
That was Yoongi needed to hear before leaning down capturing the servant’s boys lips with his, hands moving to his thighs and hoisting him up in his arms and carrying him into his chambers, lips never separating.
“You’re a eager one, are you?” Yoongi chuckled against the servant boy’s mouth, moving his lips down his neck and forcing a whimpering moan from him.
“I-It’s my duty to serve y-you, your Majesty.”
That brought a smile on Yoongi’s lips.
Yoongi couldn’t find you anywhere the next day.
He couldn’t find at you breakfast, he couldn’t find you during the conference with the other royals and their wives, and he couldn’t find you at lunch. Now as dinner was approaching, there still wasn’t any sign of you anywhere.
But he had no problem finding your husband. Wherever he saw Taehyung, he saw that whore of a servant trailing behind him like a pet—but you no where to be seen.
Yoongi thought about approaching him to ask about your whereabouts, but he couldn’t help but think of the consequences that would happen afterwards. But that still didn’t stop him from sending glares at the younger royal and the servant every now and then, which didn’t go unnotice by either of them.
“Is there something wrong, your Majesty,” Taehyung finally asks, breaking the tensed silence between the two of them. “You’ve been staring at me all day today and haven’t said a single word.”
“Oh nothing,” Yoongi simply replies, eyes still trained on him while twirling his glass of wine. “Just wondering where your wife is at right now, since everyone else is here. Is he still not feeling well from last night?”
For a very very brief moment, Yoongi could see panic glinting in his eyes before answering, “o-oh yes, your Majesty, he told me that he’s still feeling unwell so I allowed him stay back in the room.”
Liar, was Yoongi’s first thought, eyes glaring even more at the long, black-haired royal.
Everyone at the table could feel the tension between their Emperor and the young royal, and still no one chose to speak up about it.
Yoongi had a reputation. He is the first ever Emperor to achieve the throne through combat rather than family bloodline—and he is also the youngest ruler to ever be placed higher than a simple king. But that weren’t the only things he was known for. He was also generally known for being intelligent and quite reserved, and cruel if absolutely necessary, and also able to hold a grudge. It may sound simple, but everybody knew that if their Emperor had something against you, your days were limited.
So that’s why nobody chose to speak up when seeing the menancing glares their Emperor were sending at the youngest and only surviving Kim. Because they knew if they intervened, they’d only anger him and get on his list, and that’s the exact opposite of what they want to do.
“Your Majesty,” his advisor suddenly whispered right beside him. “I think it would be a good idea to continue the meeting. Some of your guests has some things to say about the...improvements you’re doing to the North.”
Yoongi clenched his jaw, eyes scanning over Taehyung once more before turning his attention to the other royals. “Sure,” he then says, “which one of you want to speak first?”
Not even a second later, Park Jimin, ruler of the Park Kingdom stood up from his seat and spoke. “Your Majesty, my council and I believe that the border that you have placed around my region is completely unnecessary.”
“How so?” Yoongi asks, leaning back against his chair with an amused look on his face. He had to admit that he was impressed that the blonde man was the first to speak up. He may not be the youngest royal out of everyone, but he certainly is the one with the least experience when it came politics.
“For starters your border cuts right through my kingdom’s river, slicing our water supply in half,” he starts, voice slightly raising. “And the amount of wood you required for the construction of the wall resulted in about ninety percent of the forests in my region to be completely cut down, forcing most of my workers into unemployment.”
Yoongi continued to listen closely with his hands laced together and resting on top of his chest, rocking back and forth in his chair with an intent glint in his eyes.
“I also find it completely unfair how your border only crosses over my kingdom but no one else’s.” Jimin continued to rant, jamming his finger repeatedly angerly against the table while keeping his eye contact with him. “I think it’s not for protection like you have claimed many of times, but as a prison, to keep my people in check. You’re nothing but a—”
Yoongi slammed his hand heavily onto the table, instantly silencing the young royal and causing everyone to gulp nervously. He may at times find it amusing when someone fights back, but he will never allow anyone to talk down against him, not in his own residence.
“You think I built that wall as a prison?” Yoongi asks, chuckling when the blonde man didn’t reply. “Are you forgetting what happened before I built that wall? Spies from the South would come right into our territories and would gather information on us, murder our people in their sleep—that’s how your parents died, am I correct? Some spy that sneaked into their palace assassinated them when they were asleep? It would such a shame if the same thing happens to you—after I take down the wall, of course.”
Yoongi smirked when noticing the seeing Jimin’s jaw clenching and hands angrily balling into fists. “So don’t you ever accuse me again? Because everything I do is for the best of my people, not just yours. The wall is only bordering your land because your land is the only one that connects with the South.”
Jimin’s head hung low, hands unclenching and lips dropping into the frown.
“So before you come at me, you should make sure that you have all the information, do you understand me?” Jimin nodded and sat down.
Everybody tensed when Yoongi then stood up from his seat and slowly, intimidatingly made his way to Jimin’s chair. And when placing his hands on the younger man’s shoulders, Yoongi couldn’t help but chuckle when feeling him jump slightly underneath his touch. “Normally I’d kill anyone who spoke to me that way,” leaning down, he whispered into Jimin’s ear, sending chills along his pale skin, “but I’ll let it slide for once since you’re new to this whole thing.”
“T-Thank you, your Majesty.”
With one last pat on the shaking man’s shoulder, Yoongi pulled away, and he was standing straight again, his eyes suddenly fell on your figure who stood near the entrance of the conference hall. But you weren’t alone, no, three servants that he couldn’t recognize was with you. The four of you seemed to be in a deep conversation, and with everybody focused on him, nobody noticed you.
Yoongi’s eyes slightly squinted out of suspicion when seeing you then bow your head at the three servants, a smile on your face before each of you went your separate ways.
Yoongi is definitely going to look into that.
“Now,” returning his attention back to his guests, Yoongi leaned himself against the table, keeping close to the blonde man that was still trembling. “Does anyone else have anything to say to me?”
“N-No no, your Majesty,” Jung Hoseok, another royal spoke up, gulping anxiously as he tightened his hand around his wife’s who sat beside him. “We have no complaints whatsoever, you’re doing an amazing job—the perfect ruler.”
Kiss ass, Yoongi rolled his eyes, pushing himself away from the table. He then shifted his attention towards your husband and asks, “what about you, your Highness? Anything to say?”
Taehyung shook his head. “No, your Majesty.”
“What a bunch spineless people,” Yoongi’s mind scoffed, and he couldn’t agree more.
His advisor then rose from his chair and spoke up, “okay everyone, thank you all for attending his Majesty’s annual end of conference feast this year. You may all now return to your rooms and get some rest before heading back to your own residences in the morning.”
Yoongi stayed back and bid farewell to everyone, and once everyone was gone he left the conference hall with only one thing on his mind—you. He was determined to find out what exactly were you and those three servants were discussing about. Yoongi was so rapt on you that he didn’t even hear his advisor calling out of him to come back.
He practically jogged to the chambers hall, heading straight to your room and when he got there, just as he was about barge right through the door he was then stopped by a sudden sound. Moans could be heard on the other side of the door—female moans. Yoongi’s hands were already hovering over the door handle before he opened it slightly to where there was only a crack, giving him the view of seeing your husband with same servant girl from the night before.
Yoongi watches as she claws his back, legs wrapped tightly around his waist as he place open mouth kisses along her bare chest and thrusted deep into her, causing loud, pleasurable moans to erupt from both of their mouths.
“T-Tae,” the young servant girl gasped, hands running up and down his sweaty back and fingers digging into his marked, glistening skin. “I’m close.”
“Me too, love,” he groaned back, leaning down and capturing her lips into a passionate kiss. “Together, okay...?”
Utterly shameless, Yoongi shook his head and pushed away from the door with disgust. Just as he was about to continue searching for you, he froze at the sound a voice behind him—a female voice.
“Are you looking for Lady Kim, your Majesty?”
Yoongi turned around and was greeted by one of your servants, hands laced together and hanging in front of her with a wide smile on her face. “No, I’m not,” he quickly replied, shaking his head. He expected her to just nod her head and leave, but instead she released a small chuckle and turned around, saying in a soft tone, “follow me.”
Yoongi was hesitant, eyes burning suspiciously into the servant girl’s back as she began to walk away. But he soon decided to follow her despite the constant warnings that were running through his head at the moment.
The servant’s gaze was trained on the path in front of her, not even bothering to acknowledge the glare she was receiving by platinum-haired man that was trailing right behind her.
The warnings that were consuming Yoongi’s head started to get louder as he continued to follow her deeper into his residence, parts of his home that he hasn’t even been in.
Yoongi stopped in his place when the servant led him to a room with dark, double doors. “What is this,” he asks with a cold expression, causing the young girl to chuckle and open the door without saying a word to him. He was about to question her even more but when he got to see what was behind the door, leaving him speechless.
Standing right in front him was you, along with over a dozen guards and servants that were from many different kingdoms. Some of the guards and servants were part of the Park Kingdom, some were from the Jung Kingdom, and others were from your own home.
“What’s going on here?” Yoongi asks, his eyes glancing across the many different pairs that were staring right back at him.
“They work for me,” came out of your mouth. “We are all part of movement that believes that the North needs a change in leadership—which is you. You’re the only that deserves to rule the North, not these cowards.”
Yoongi was speechless. For once in his life he didn’t know to say. For the first time he wasn’t the one that was planning in the shadows, plotting against somebody—but instead it was people who he has never even met before. “Why,” was the only thing that came out of his mouth.
“Because war is coming your Majesty,” you stepped towards him to where you stood only inches away from his face, staring up to meet his eyes. “My agents told me that the South is planning an invasion into our territory, and the way the other kingdoms are ruling their land—we won’t survive this war. You are the only one that is capable of leading us to victory.”
Yoongi turned towards your followers. “Do you all agree with him?”
“Yes, your Majesty,” one of the guards spoke up. Each and every person then stepped forward and began to speak loudly on their opinions of their leaders.
“Park Jimin is too young to be King—he doesn’t know how to rule.”
“He can’t even hold a sword properly.”
“Jung Hoseok is a spineless man!”
“Damn right he is! The moment the South comes barging intl his palace, he’ll do whatever it takes to save his own skin and not his people.”
“Kim Taehyung is shameless bastard who would rather spend his time fucking his servants than leading his own Kingdom.”
Yoongi could see you snicker at that comment.
“He spends our taxes buying whores instead of using it to improve our home.”
“None of them belong on the throne!”
“They are right, your Majesty,” you stared at him with a small smirk on your lips. “Out of everyone, you’re the only that deserves to rule us. You are the one who will lead us to glory.”
Yoongi stared down at you with such desire. He may have found you attractive before, but now he couldn’t help but find you utterly irresistible. “So this isn’t just some power trip? Doing all this just to get to the top?”
Yoongi had his suspicions already about the war. He has heard from his own agents that the South were planning on some sort of invasion, but there wasn’t any evidence that confirmed that. So sadly he hasn’t been able to do any preparations—at least, none without the other royals knowledge of it.
You shook your head. “I don’t care about power, your Majesty—only survival, and you’re the best way to achieve that.”
“I see,” Yoongi reached up and stroked his chin, “how would you all do this anyway? Kill the rulers of each Kingdom can be tricky, and what about their heirs?”
“It’s quite easy,” you answered with a small grin. “They all have their jobs,” you nodded at your followers, “once they are home and unguarded, that is when they’ll strike. And as for their heirs, well, that’s not really a problem.”
Yoongi raised a brow. “Jung Hoseok’s wife is unable to bare a child, and he also doesn’t have any younger siblings to take over. So once he passes, rulership of his Kingdom immediately goes over to you. Same goes for my husband and Park Jimin.”
“I see,” Yoongi hums, biting inside of his cheek. “So what’s my job then?”
You smirk. “The only thing you have to do is have your succession speech ready, your Majesty.”
“But I have another problem,” Yoongi added. “Many people already disagree with our war with the South. How will we manage to persuade them that this is necessary? It’ll be difficult since three of the four leaders of the North are dead.”
“Trust me, your Majesty,” you spoke with such clarity and a smile on your face. “Everything is planned out and you don’t have to worry.”
Yoongi didn’t replay, eyes briefly glancing at the people that surrounded him. You must’ve noticed his still cautious state because next thing he knew you were signaling everybody out, telling them to “get some rest and prepare for your departure in the morning.”
“Why are you doing this exactly?” Yoongi asks the moment you two were alone in the room. “Because there is no damn way you’re doing this just for survival. I mean,” he suddenly chuckles, “you are giving complete control of the North. What is your angle here? Are you going to kill me after all this is so that you become Emperor?” Yoongi was starting to get frustrated. He has never had trouble understanding someone before until he met you. And now because of you, his mind was a complete mess.
“That’s not my intention at all, your Majesty,” smiling up at him, you placed your hand on his shoulder, smirking at the feeling of him tensing underneath your fingertips. “All I want is for the North, my home—your home to finally come out of its shadow that it has been forced to hide in for centuries.”
“And you think I’m the one that can do that?”
“Yes,” you nod, fingers dancing across his chest. “I’ve read records of previous Emperors and you’re the only that deserves that title. Unlike the other ones, you are resilient, intelligent, ruthless if necessary, and you even fight alongside your men which no other Emperor has done before.”
As each compliment came out of your mouth, Yoongi couldn’t help but feel himself starting to get hard underneath his lower robes, and you running your hands seductively over his chest definitely wasn’t helping.
“How should I repay you for your kindness then,” Yoongi found himself melting against your touch, his hands finding their way into your waist. “Because someone like you definitely deserves an reward for their loyalty.” Yoongi then turns you around in one quick motion, causing you to gasp at the sudden action and feeling his strong chest pressed up against your back and lips brushing against your ear.
A tiny moan escaped from your lips when feeling his hard length suddenly rub against your ass, you yourself starting to get hard as well. “Should I buy you plenty of jewelry, or maybe a large palace just for you?” Yoongi then pushed you up against the wall, smirking at the small gasp that came from you. “Or perhaps,” another moan came out of your mouth when one of his hands slipped underneath your robes and caressed the soft flesh of your behind, “make you wife?”
Yoongi chuckled when feeling shiver against him. “Yeah, you would like that, huh? Being my wife, an Empress, ruling right beside me?”
“Y-Yes, your Majesty,” you stuttered out, tilting your head back from the sensation, giving Yoongi the opportunity to lean down and leaving wet, tender kisses along your neck and bare shoulder, leaving dark bruises that’ll be near impossible to cover up tomorrow morning.
“Good,” Yoongi left another mark on your skin, dragging his finger across your ass, teasing your clenching hole with his fingertip. “Then how about we—secure our deal, then? And when you nodded, that was all Yoongi needed before turning you around to face him and crashing his lips down forcefully onto yours. The kiss was rough, yet tender and filled with lust. With your hands around his neck, Yoongi’s slid down to your thighs and hoisted you up into his arms, deepening the kiss with his lips moving in perfect sync against yours.
The kiss was like a drug that neither of you couldn’t get enough of.
“Please, your Majesty,” you whimpered against his lips, which made Yoongi want you even more than he already did. “Can you please h-hurry?”
Yoongi smirked against your lips, pulling away. “Don’t worry, my love, just be patient.”
It was quite ironic though, because Yoongi was everything but patient when it came to you. He couldn’t wait any longer. Instead of carrying you all the way to his chamber, he laid you on the closest flat surface which happened to be a table and tore your robes completely off of you, leaving you bare and them in ruins.
Yoongi decided to take his sweet time with you, dragging his lips across your ankles, up your legs to your meaty thighs. He then began to leave open mouth kisses over your abdomen and up your chest, teasing your nipples with his tongue and grazing the wet muscle over your collarbone. Yoongi continued his assault on your body until he reached back up your lips, capturing them this time into a soft, passionate kiss which you gladly returned without a second thought, hands sliding up to his shoulders and helping him strip from his own robes, revealing his pale and toned body.
Your mouth watered at the sight of him, eyeing his define muscles, the way his abs clenched as he climbed onto the table and hovered over you, and the way his biceps bulged as he held himself above you. “Y-Your Majesty—”
“Yoongi,” he cut you off, pulling away and moving his lips to your throat. “Call me, Yoongi, my love.”
“Y-Yoongi,” you tried out, heart warming in both of your chests once hearing his name come out of your mouth. It sounded right coming from you. “Please—”
“Don’t worry, my love,” Yoongi reassured you, moving his lips back up to yours. “I’m here, I’m here. Let me show you how it feels to be loved by a real man, yeah?”
The night was then soon filled with nothing but the sound your combined moans, skin slapping and the shared whispers of sweet words between one another.
This was the start of something new.
“T-Taehyung, faster, faster please!”
The sound of the woman’s moans and the bed’s headboard banging against the connecting wall to your room made your blood boil. Your hands clenched into fists and teeth biting angrily down onto your lips.
“Be patient, my love,” you could hear your husband say through the thin wall, making the rage that flowed through your veins grow more. “Let me cherish you, beautiful...”
“Your Highness,” the sound of a man’s voice tore you out of your thoughts, “I’ve done what you’ve asked me to do.”
“Everything’s prepared and ready?”
The guard nodded his head once you turned around, “yes, your Highness. The only people remaining in the palace are your loyal followers. Everyone else has been sent home.”
“Good,” only came out of your mouth before leaving your chambers with the guard following closely behind you. You walked over next door and didn’t bother knocking before barging right in, your husband and the girl instantly jumping to cover themselves with the thin bedsheets.
“What the fuck?!” Taehyung curses loudly, staring at you with wide eyes and wrapping his arms around the girl’s waist, pulling her close. “What are you doing here? I told already you that I’m staying here tonight.”
“I know,” you replied with not even a single ounce of emotion heard in your voice.
Taehyung’s eyes then shifted towards the guard that stood beside you. “What’s going on here?”
You didn’t say anything, only smiled, and that caused fear to form in the pit of Taehyung’s gut. With just the simple nod of your head, the guard walked over to the servant girl and snatched her by her hair, tearing her away from his grasp and yanking her off the bed and onto the ground.
“Stop—” Taehyung tried to reach for her but stopped when the guard pulled out a dagger and held the sharp blade against her neck, tears shining in her eyes. He then turned towards you, eyes glistening as well, “why are you doing this?”
“Change,” was all you said before nodding your head again, giving the guard the order to slide his blade across the girl’s throat, killing her instantly and letting her limp body collapse into the ground.
“N-No no,” Taehyung didn’t hesitate this time to jump out of the bed, despite being completely nude and taking her now lifeless body into his arms, blood staining the ground and his skin, and tears spilling uncontrollably from his eyes. “She was pregnant...”
“Oh well.”
Taehyung’s head shot up from your heartless comment, his teary eyes shining with a newfound rage. Before he had the chance to say anything the guard approached him from behind and wrapped his arms tightly around his neck. He immediately began clawing at his arms, trying to gasp for air that was becoming harder and harder to obtain, eyes bright red and nearly bulging out, tears slipping from them and sliding down his cheeks.
The last thing he saw before he took his last breath and eyes slowly closed was you standing in front of him with a sinister grin on your lips.
“Your Majesty.”
Yoongi glanced up from his book to see his personal advisor standing right in front of him by his library’s entrance. He hummed in reply, signaling for the young man to continue. We’ve gotten word from Lady Kim—” Yoongi glared at him, causing his advisor to pause and correct his words, “—I mean, ____’s agents that they have completed their duties.”
“They have?” Yoongi asked with a raised brow. He knew you were more than capable of doing this, but he thought something this major would take at least a week to accomplish. He didn’t expect to hear about any success a day later.
“Yes, your Majesty,” his advisor nodded. “The Jung palace is flames at this moment and there is word that Jung Hoseok himself and his wife were in their chambers when the fire happened. And as for Park Jimin, he was found murdered in his bed with a dagger in his chest. Some say it was one of his concubines that done it.”
“What about Kim Taehyung?” Yoongi found himself asking, his mind instantly thinking of you. “Was ___ successful?”
“Yes, your Majesty he was,” his advisor answered. “I was informed about Kim Taehyung’s death by ___ himself.”
Yoongi couldn’t stop the smile forming on his lips. “Good.”
“Would you like to start writing your succession speech now, your Majesty?”
“Yes,” Yoongi answered. “We’ll have the succession conference next week, and make sure every minor clan leader comes so that they know who is in charge now.”
“Yes, your Majesty,” his advisor nodded his head, and before leaving he turned back and said to him in a teasing tone, “oh, and someone is here to see you.”
Yoongi was about to ask him who it was, but he stopped himself when his eyes suddenly landed on you standing in his library’s entrance, his heart stopping in his chest at the sight of you. “H-Hey,” he stuttered out, cringing at the sound of himself. In all his years of living, nobody has ever had this type of power over him—but he wasn’t complaining either.
“Hello, your Majesty,” your reply sent tingles all over his body—and he loved it.
There was nothing but silence afterwards between you two because there wasn’t any need for words. The only thing you two needed to express the feelings you have for each other was your eyes—the passion, the lust, the want that shined in them.
This is just the beginning for you two.
would you guys like to see a drabble series of these two in the future maybe? emperor yoongi and his male wife.

Two years have passed since your anniversary, and nothing could be better.
Life was great, and you mean it this time. The feeling of waking up every morning and being in Jungkook’s arms created a warmth inside your chest that you never wanted to go away—and it seemed he felt the same way.
“Good morning,” you heard Jungkook whisper against the back of your neck, his voice low and raspy.
“Good morning,” you whispered back, feeling your heart flutter at the feeling of his arms tightening around your waist and placing kisses along your bare shoulder. “Happy anniversary, my love.”
Jungkook smiled against your smooth skin, moving his hand that was resting on your waist up your stomach, fingers dancing gently across your abdomen. “Happy anniversary, baby.”
“So what do you want to do today?” You ask, shuffling around so that you were now facing him, chest against chest, face against face. “We can have a picnic at the park together—you know, the one with that brand new jungle gym and the rope pyramid?”
“That sounds great,” Jungkook agrees while sliding his hands up and down your bare back and pressing tender kisses along your collarbone. “We can go to that deli restaurant across the street from the park and order that meat combo plate we got last time.”
“Yeah, we can!” You instantly nodded vigorously, already feeling your mouth watering at thought of the meal.
“Alright great,” Jungkook shot up from the bed, and you couldn’t help but blush at the sight of the many dark bruises and bright red scratch marks you left on him as he slid a pair of sweatpants and shirt on. “I’ll about go get the kids ready, you call the deli and order the food, okay?
You nodded your head, also getting out of bed and slipping on some clothes—and yes, kids, as in plural.
A week after your anniversary two years ago, Yeonha went into labor and gave birth to a baby girl, and you’re not lying when you say that she is splitting image of Jungkook. Anybody with eyes can easily tell that she is his daughter. They both share many characteristics, like hair and eye color, and they both have the same bunny smile that makes your heart skip a beat when seeing it.
You hate to admit it, but at first you thought it would be awkward when meeting her, especially since she is the child of your husband and his ex-girlfriend, but it wasn’t. You can’t lie and say your heart didn’t flutter when seeing her for the first time when Jungkook brought her into the house, in his arms, sound asleep—and the sight of that made you want another baby if you were being honest, but of course you couldn’t say anything, not when he just had one.
And as for Yeonha, sadly she’s still in your life. Jungkook and her have shared custody over Mina, so that means you have to see her at least twice a week when they meet with each other to get Mina from one another. But luckily you don’t have to speak to her at least.
Again, life was perfect now.
“Minho, make sure to watch your sister!” Jungkook shouts, watching with concern as the two kids sprinted excitedly to the playground.
“They’re fine, Jungkook. See,” you pointed at Minho who was currently helping Mina onto the swings before pushing her gently back and forth. “Now,” you then unwrapped the meat combo plate you got from the deli and handed Jungkook a slider and a can of strawberry soda. “Let’s enjoy our anniversary, okay?”
“Best anniversary ever,” Jungkook teased, clinging your two soda cans together and pecking your lips softly before taking a small sip.
The two of you then began to dig into the food, taking fairly large bites into the small sandwiches. “This is delicious,” you spoke with a full mouth, “We haven’t had this in like—forever.”
“Yeah,” Jungkook agrees, taking another bite of his sandwich. “It’s been what—two months since we’ve been there, and it’s still delicious as ever.” He then glances over at you, lips curling up at the sight of your ketchup stained mouth and full cheeks. Even now, he thought you were the most beautiful, most handsome man his eyes have ever laid on. “I love you.”
His words were sudden, surprising you and making you stare at him with wide eyes and a full mouth. “W-What?”
Jungkook chuckled at your shocked reaction before repeating, “I love you, and I’m sorry that we can’t have a normal anniversary with just each other, alone.”
“It’s okay, you don’t have to apologize, darling.” You were quick to reassure him by placing your hand on his bicep and giving it a firm squeeze. “It’s your weekend with Mina and I’m okay with that, you know I love her like my own.”
Your words warmed Jungkook’s heart. You were right, you do love Mina as if she is your own child and that makes him so happy.
When Mina was born Jungkook was afraid that you two would start to drift apart again. Because after all, you were helping raise your husband’s child that wasn’t yours, and that can make things complicated.
But you proved him wrong.
The moment Mina became a part of your life you treated as if she was your own without any doubt, and that made Jungkook’s heart swell. He can’t tell how many times he has woken up and found his daughter in the kitchen with you, handing you the ingredients and helping you cook breakfast.
Jungkook thought there was no way he could love you anymore than how much he does now, but he was wrong. As he stood by the stairway, watching you two bond he could feel his heart triple in size inside his chest. You are definitely someone he doesn’t deserve to call his husband.
“You’re the best,” came out of his mouth faster than his mind could comprehend it. You simply shook your head, attempting to dismiss the topic but he continued. “No seriously, you’re the best husband anyone could ever have. Anyone else in your position would’ve left and never turned back but you chose to stay, and I can’t think of a way to show you how grateful I am.”
“I can’t think of a way either,” you agreed with him, smirking as you leaned over and brushed your lips against his teasingly. “It might take me the rest of my life to think of something. Do you mind waiting for that long?”
When hearing the teasing tone of your voice, he then said, “I don’t mind one bit,” before pressing his lips firmly against yours, the kiss being short yet passionate.
The rest of the day was like this, you and Jungkook being in the each other’s embrace, watching both Mina and Minho play together at the playground. It was peaceful, and calm. The four of you stayed at the park until nighttime, where the sun was starting to set and the moon was beginning to come out.
When going home, you were expecting to have a family movie night or something similar like that, because every weekend when you two have Mina it always comes to that—not that you were complaining because you loved family nights. But you definitely weren’t expecting to hear Jungkook say to the two kids to pack their bags and that they are going to stay with your mother tonight.
“W-What are you doing?” You ask the moment you enter the house, Minho and Mina sprinting up stairs to do exactly what their dad told them to. “It’s your weekend with Mina, I told you that I’m okay with spending our anniversary like this—”
“But I’m not,” Jungkook cut you off, placing his hands on your waist and pulling you to his chest. “You deserve the best. And don’t worry, one night won’t hurt—and it’s a three day weekend so I get Mina an extra day.”
You were hesitant at first, but when he started to leave tender kisses along your neck, making you become weak in the knees you couldn’t help but cave in, a hint of blush forming on your cheeks. “Okay, fine.”
“You don’t sound so excited to have the night to ourselves,” Jungkook muttered inside your neck, placing even more kisses down to your slightly exposed collarbone. “You know, it’s been almost a month since we have had time to ourselves—”
“Appa.” The sound of Mina’s loud, cheerful voice caused you and Jungkook to instantly separate, turning to see the two-year-old girl and Minho sprinting down the stairs with their backpacks on. “We’re ready.”
Jungkook licked his lips, trying to hide the swollen signs of them. “well, I’ll go take them to your eomeoni and be right right back, okay?”
“Okay,” you smiled back at him, pecking him on the lips and giving both Mina and Minho a kiss on their forehead. “Have fun you two, love you and behave.”
“Love you too appa,” they both shouted out, running past Jungkook as he opened the door for them and went straight towards the car.
Just as you were about to close the door, Jungkook kept it open with his foot in between the gap. His last words to you before leaving left you stunned and utterly speechless.
“You better be prepped and ready by the time I come home, baby boy.”
Jungkook couldn’t deny how stunning you were, even while you laid right beside him, both of you completely bare, sweat glistening off your bodies and chest heaving up and down, trying to regain your breath.
He can’t remember that last time you two have went this hard. It’s been half an hour since you two both have reached your release and he could still see you trembling underneath him, feel you clawing at his back and tears of pleasure shining in your eyes as he thrusted deeply into you. The sight was breathtaking.
“This thirty-three year old still got it,” Jungkook spoke up in a raspy voice, making you chuckle as you shifted your body onto your side to face him, running your hand up and down his bare torso.
“Yes you do,” you grinned up at him, leaning down and placing a couple tender kisses along his exposed, sharp collarbone.
A peaceful silence then consumed the bedroom. The two of you enjoyed the calm atmosphere that succumbed you both, savoring this moment since you two haven’t had any time for yourselves ever since the day Mina was born—not that any of you were complaining because she is a gem no doubt, it was just you two are a married couple and still would like to have time for yourselves every once in a while.
You could slowly feel yourself slip into slumber, but Jungkook’s next words made your eyes shoot wide open, nearly bulging out of your head.
“Let’s have another baby.”
“W-What,” you sat up on the bed, leaning back against the headboard and stared down at him. “Have you completely lost your mind? We already have two kids.”
“I know,” Jungkook copied your same position. “But I don’t know, I really want another kid, don’t you?”
“Of course I do—” you tried to say but then he cut you off, continuing.
“Then why can’t we? We both are in a perfect place in our lives,” smiling widely, Jungkook took your hands into his and squeezed them tightly. “You just got a promotion so you now work from home, and BTS is over, we finished our last tour last month so that means I’m going to be home now more than ever. Come on, let’s have another baby, please?”
You remained silent, and when Jungkook noticed your hesitation a frown formed on his lips. “If you don’t want another kid then that’s okay with me, I’m just wondering if you want one as well.”
Your heart clenched when seeing his downed expression, your thumbs immediately caressing the back of his hands comfortingly. “Jungkook, it’s not that I don’t want another kid because I do, but Mina is only two-years-old, don’t you think it is kind of early?”
Jungkook shook his head instantly, “No, I don’t. We always talked about having a big family, and now that we’re both in a comfortable place in our life, what’s a greater time than now?”
His words brought a large smile on your face. “Then let’s have another baby.”
“Really?” Jungkook stared at you with wide eyes, mouth gaped open.
“Yes really,” you quickly nodded, and next thing you knew you felt Jungkook’s lips crashing onto yours, moving his body so that he was now hovering you, hands moving down to your thighs and pulling you flushed against his body.
You couldn’t but moan against his lips when you felt his hands begin grope your ass, squeezing the flesh of your skin. “You do remember I’m a man, right? So that means I can’t get pregnant,” you teased, pulling away from his lips to stare at him.
Jungkook’s lips curled up into a smirk and whispered, “doesn’t mean we can’t try,” before bringing his mouth back down onto yours.
The night was again filled with the sound of your moans, Jungkook’s groans, and his skin slapping against yours.
And when morning, the first thing you did was call the same adoption agency that Minho came from and now, the two of you were officially added onto the list.
Life may be perfect now, but it was only going to get even more better from here on out.
BONUS:
“Alright Ms. Lee, I’m going to need you to push one more time and the baby should come out,” the male doctor that sat in front of you and Jungkook stated.
The woman that was laying on the hospital bed had tears in her eyes as she nodded her head, releasing a loud cry before doing exactly what the doctor said. And soon, the sound of a baby’s cries filled the delivery room.
“It’s a boy,” the doctor says, handing the baby boy to one of the nurses so that they could clean him up.
“Thank you so much, A-yeong.” You grasped onto the woman’s hand, bowing your head gratefully and at same time Jungkook also asks, “How are feeling?”
“Really tired,” the woman answered, skin shining with sweat and chest heaving up and down from exhaustion.
“Well you only have little time to rest before we have to go again,” the doctor spoke up again, “The second baby should coming out any second now.”
You and Jungkook both froze, “S-Second baby? We were informed that there will be only one.”
“I don’t know what you want me to say,” the doctor shrugged his shoulders. “On the record it says, Lee A-yeong, female, age thirty-one, having twins.”
You turned to Jungkook, eyes wide but shining with excitement. “We’re having twins,” you said, voice trembling out of happiness.
“We’re having twins,” Jungkook repeated your words, sharing the same joyful expression as you before leaning down capturing your lips into a sweet, passionate kiss.
Soon, another baby’s cries could be heard, making you two separate. Your eyes then met the baby’s ones, making your heart flutter inside. “This one is a girl.”
“Oh my god,” Jungkook gasped, hand over his mouth out of shock. “We have another baby girl.”
After the nurses cleaned both babies, they each handed you and Jungkook one. “So, have you two thought about any names?”
“Well, I’m thinking of naming the girl A-yeong,” you suggested, glancing at Jungkook for his opinion while delicately running the tip of your index finger along the baby girl’s chubby cheek.
“I like it,” Jungkook agrees.
A-yeong smiles and bows her head thankfully. “Thank you for naming her after me.” She then asks, “what about about the boy?”
“How about Junghyun?” Jungkook says, rocking the baby boy in his arms gently back and forth.
You instantly nodded your head, “Yeah, it’s cute—definitely suits him.”
“Hello there little ones,” Jungkook gets closer to you so that he can see the baby girl, A-yeong asleep in your arms. “Damn, they’re so precious.”
“Hey, watch your language,” you scolded him, “we’ve got babies right here.”
Jungkook chuckled and pecked your forehead. “Welcome to the world, Jeon A-yeong and Jeon Junghyun.”
