Cockroach Milk Parallels (colored). 2019.
It’s like really *eye roll emoji* to see these white actresses do this “And men suck!” *hold for applause* shit they do every single time someone hands them a mic. Women like Emma Stone and Scarletfever Johnson stealing roles from women of colour and then having the audacity to get on stage and talk about inequality while downplaying the accomplishments of non white men or Natalie Portman signing a petition protecting a pedophile who hurt and traumatized young girls getting on stage and talking about oppression against women…it’s laughable. They don’t care about women, they care about white rich women that’s literally it. everyone else is a hindrance, not even an afterthought at this point.
Natalie Portman apologized for signing that petition, expressing her regret and explaining she was pressured by older actors at the time & that she wants & needs to do more to support victims (and she herself had been a victim of pedophilia).
9 years later only after it was brought back up again because of the Me Too movement and it was complete lip service. The only reason she said something when she did was because she didn’t want to be caught in the crossfire but had no issue supporting it for the past 9 years because it didn’t hurt her to do so. she also said that she “didn’t think it through”which i don’t understand in the slightest. So anyways.
So people aren’t allowed to make mistakes or grow or change and you 100% know her intentions. Got it. Cool.
Signing a petition supporting a pedophile who was convicted of the charges and was attempting to dodge the punishment isn’t a “mistake”. You don’t accidentally sign a petition like this. And yes her intentions are very obvious, especially considering the timing and the climate of Hollywood, to us who have more than 3 brain cells and use them actively which seems to be something you choose not to do. Carry on.
Mistake =/= accident so please try to use your brain. Like I already said, she said she was pressured by older actors and didn’t think it through. That’s what a mistake is. And people can change and you know, process their own trauma. Also at least she changed her position when there are still tons of actors who remains silent on it even when called to answer for it. What kind of double standards is this? “Here answer for this but also fuck you no matter what you say”
It’s the same concept regardless of you trying to argue semantics lmfao. Her own trauma does not at all justify her supporting someone else’s. It does not matter how she “processes” her trauma if it results in her literally and vocally supporting a convicted pedophile for almost a decade. It’s not a double standard so i don’t know where you drew that from. She was a grown ass woman when she signed the petition and regardless of any pressure she made the choice to sign the petition and wait damn near 10 years to say something about it because the climate shifted to somewhat punishing people who supported sexual abuse on a surface level.

“The people who join this movement without taking any kind of personal accountability for the ways in which [they’ve] helped to perpetuate the culture they are fighting against, that’s hard for me to
“I fully support women taking a stand, linking arms with other women (and men), advocating on behalf of one another to effect change not only in the entertainment industry but in the world at large,” Farrow said in a statement to BuzzFeed News. “That is an admirable and worthwhile objective, I hope these women change the world. That said, the people who join this movement without taking any kind of personal accountability for the ways in which their own words and decisions have helped to perpetuate the culture they are fighting against, that’s hard for me to reconcile.”
Farrow directly addressed Lively and Timberlake in her statement, saying, “I struggle to understand how a woman who believes Woody Allen is ‘empowering to women’ can claim the role as an advocate for women suffering from sexual harassment. I struggle with how a powerful force like Justin Timberlake can claim to be in awe of the strength of women and stand with them at this #MeToo moment and then in the next breath say that working with Woody Allen is a ‘dream come true.‘”
“It’s of course particularly hard for me as a survivor of sexual abuse to know that for these particular individuals I am not part of the ‘every woman’ they stand for,” Farrow said in her statement. “I seem to remain secondary to their ambition, which undermines the powerful and embracing message they are trying to send.”

If you miss the amazon rainforest then stop buying sugar, soy, palm oil, tea, coffee, chocolate, bananas, pineapples, charcoal, diamonds, aluminum, oil, copper, gold, and paper
And can I ask–when you say you miss the amazon rainforest, do you also mean you miss the 90+ indigenous tribes that have been completely wiped out by corporate death squads who didn’t even bother to give them the chance to run for their lives before murdering them for land and money?
Or, are you just willing to admit you care more about a pretentious, fictional moral high ground gained by not eating animals than you do about human rights and environmental issues
there’s a lot of heinous tropes out there but can we agree that “1000 year old woman looks like an eternal 10-year-old” is probably one of the fucking worst

OCTOBER 25, 2017 - Flint has not had clean water for 1,280 days. We are still dealing with the effects of the water crisis. Children are still being affected by lead poisoning. I have to be very careful about where I fill my water bottle at school (I’m a student at one of the four colleges in the city). PLEASE HELP US.

Chicago Police Shot and Killed Another Unarmed Black Teenager in The Back Then Stomped On Body and ‘High-Fived’
“Bitch-ass motherfucker, fucking shoot at us,” a Chicago police officer told the bloodied, dying body of Paul O’Neal, an 18-year-old black man who was, to be clear, unarmed when officers shot and killed him on July 28.
It’s not clear exactly what happened at the moment of the shooting — once again, it seems like the shooting police officers’ body cameras fell or malfunctioned. But thankfully Chicago just decided to release some of the footage, and it’s graphic. (WARNING: WATCH WITH CAUTION)

They shouted anti-lesbian insults at her before they attacked.
A lesbian couple was beaten up by a group of five men in what police are calling a hate crime. Sabrina Hooks, 26, and her girlfriend Morgan were eating at a Jack in the Box in Los Angeles on October 29 when the group of men walked in and started insulting them, calling Hooks “dyke” and making fun of how she was dressed.
“They said, you know, I’m a dyke and I’m gay and, you know, I had to keep my ‘hoe in check’ and just… for no reason,” Hooks said. Then the altercation became physically violent. “The big guy who walked in first came from behind me and knocked me out for a little bit,” Hooks said. Then the four other men joined in and kicked Hooks.
The women say that no one at the restaurant tried to help them or called 911. Morgan had to rush her girlfriend to the hospital herself. Hooks was left with a bruised face, a missing front tooth, and possibly permanent damage to her left eye.
“It makes me want to cry every single time I look at her,” Morgan told KABC.
Police say that they have not made an arrest yet in what they are investigating as a hate crime. They said that the victims gave good descriptions of the aggressors, and there is security camera footage to help identify the attackers.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help Hooks with unplanned medical and dental expenses.

When I brush my daughter’s hair and elaborately braid it round the side of her scalp, I am doing the thing that is expected of me. When my husband brushes out tangles before bedtime, he needs his efforts noticed and congratulated—saying aloud in front of both me and her that it took him a whole 15 minutes. There are many small examples of where the work I normally do must be lauded when transferred to my husband. It seems like a small annoyance, but its significance looms larger. My son will boast of his clean room and any other jobs he has done; my daughter will quietly put her clothes in the hamper and get dressed each day without being asked. They are six and four respectively. Unless I engage in this conversation on emotional labor and actively change the roles we inhabit, our children will do the same. They are already following in our footsteps; we are leading them toward the same imbalance.

“JULY 28, 2004–Actor Anthony Anderson was charged today with the aggravated rape of a woman who police say was assaulted after being lured into a production trailer on a Memphis movie set. According to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, Anderson, 33, and Wayne Witherspoon, 42, attacked the woman, a movie extra, yesterday afternoon. The woman told cops that Witherspoon forcibly removed her clothes once she was inside the trailer. She told investigators that Anderson, who was already in the trailer at the time, joined the assault, according to a graphic criminal complaint. The woman told cops that Anderson and Witherspoon “both assaulted her with their hands and took pictures of her while she was nude.” A witness told officers that he heard the woman screaming and managed to unlock the trailer’s door. At that point, the naked woman ran from the vehicle, which was parked on the grounds of the Shelby County Corrections Center, where scenes from director John Singleton’s “Hustle & Flow” were being shot. Anderson, pictured in the below mug shot, and Witherspoon were released tonight from the Shelby County Jail after each posted $20,000 bond.”
I love the people commenting “This case was dismissed because the judge found the victim’s testimony unreliable” or whatever. Lmfao when has the judicial system ever been on the side of women (particularly women of color)? Interesting how everyone immediately knows police testimony in cases of state violence is BS, but the state should now suddenly be trusted in instances of sexual violence. How that work?
