your secret's safe with me
chipping in to the vivisection scar!sanji concept from @avianhasnodignity! i think chopper had to have known about the scar's existence, all the way back from pre-ts. i think he saw it back at drum island, and didn't know what it really was until he joins the crew. with how much he has to patch sanji up, he eventually tries to research what could've caused such a precise scar, and when he finds more parallels in old journals, with frogs in place of people, the realistion's just a little too much for him. "i have to ask him about it when he wakes up," he thinks. i think he still tears up about it, too, when no one's looking. he'll keep the secret, for sanji's sake, but he really wishes he didn't have to.
HI SORRY THIS IS AMAZING. LOOK AT THIS. BURN IT INTO YOUR RETINAS.

whenever i look into a historical monarch who doesnât get talked about much and is just kind of a blank spot in my understanding of the historical narrative, 95% of the time what i find is pure white hot blistering capability. a pencil pusher for the ages. a 39 year reign with no more than three hours of sleep a night. there arenât any good stories from his reign because he systematically caught and stopped all catastrophic good stories before they could start. you shrimply must respect it
semi-related but itâs ironic that game of thrones famously neglects to worldbuild textiles when (for me at least) textile history has proven one of the best lenses for an âaragornâs tax policyâ grounded view of history, especially for a late medieval-early modern english setting. yes henry vii of england reinstated the court of the star chamber, but youâll get a better sense for the character of his reign by looking at how and why and with what result he disrupted the trans-european alum trade. yes elizabeth i of england loved essex and killed him, but youâll get a better sense for her reign by looking at her sumptuary laws, why she passed them and how they were obeyed. the history of european pin manufacturing sheds more light on spanish-english relationships than any anecdote of walter raleigh could

The popularity of the "incompetent stupid piece of shit husband and competent wife who loves him anyways" trope in media is a psyop to make women believe its normal to settle for an incompetent stupid piece of shit husband
But if a woman acted incompetent once then she will be literally crucified in the street and she's evil for manipulating her husband into settling for less and suddenly it's not a silly endearing sitcom trope đ€
He loves his son
the thing about Tangled is that this is a story geared towards little girls (even if it's "fun for the whole family," it's a disney princess movie, it's geared towards little girls), and it says, "here is a girl who is naive and doesn't know anything about the 'Real World' or how to navigate it safely and correctly. now pay close attention: the good guys are the ones who help her grow and explore new things while still respecting her own perspective and feelings, not making her feel stupid. the bad guys are the ones who tell her that she is too weak/immature/naive to do the things she wants to do, because she is fragile and needs protecting." and I watched this when I was nine years old and it resonated deep in a part of me that I couldn't articulate with words yet.

im not even the type of guy to go "actually it's frankenstein's MONSTER" because a painting by rembrandt or picasso or any other artist is often called "a rembrandt" or "a picasso" as shorthand. so in this respect frankenstein's monster can be considered "a frankenstein"
darling I love your 8 foot tall patchwork flesh creature, it really livens up the place. is that an authentic frankenstein?
it's only a true frankenstein if it was produced in the frankenstein region of switzerland. otherwise it's just a sparkling homunculus
first in my bloodline to read this much gay fanfiction
