so like my dad's mum died pretty young of two strokes in quick succession, i've known this for like forever but today I decided to ask my dad how old he was when his mum died.

HE WAS 21.

His younger brother was 15. Same younger brother had a stroke at 15.

MY UNCLE HAD A STROKE AT FIFTEEN A FEW MONTHS AFTER HIS MOTHER DIED OF TWO IN QUICK SUCCESSION (and by quick succession, i mean like a few hours)

LITERALLY WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK

If I still Christian, this would of made me leave like wtf there's obviously no god if shit like that happens.

I mean yeah, there's a genetic factor to the strokes but the timing was HORRORIFYING

another things I will note:

my grandfather (their dad) was a war veteran (korean war) and NOT EVEN A FUNCTIONING HUMAN BEING by the time she died

Their mother (my grandmother) was a nurse

this was a mess but I have to get this out here

but here's something to lighten the mood a bit: my dad as a kid was a little shit (he still is one) who "stole" (he picked them off trees) apples (for snacks between him and his friends/siblings) and was always out to the point his mother got his siblings to go out and find him (he's one of like 6 or 8 kids) to the point one day he broke a bone (I think) and turned up to a&e by HIMSELF AS A CHILD.
