So true. Being authentic and surrounding myself with authentic people who are more successful and driven then myself has allowed doors that I never imagined would open, open for me. And I walk though them with gratitude never taking anything for granted.

I once had a “male friend” tell me publicly and rudely “You’re obsessed with getting married!”

I chuckled, flipped my long locks and said “I’m not obsessed with being wed but I do know what sort of marriage I desire. Since I know what I want it’s easy to refuse what isn’t for me without regrets.“

Unlike many I’m not a hopeless romantic. I am a realistic romantic and I believe in real, true, pure God blessed love.. *shrugs*

Somewhere along the way in your life you felt so unsafe/insecure that you taught yourself how to gauge what/who was around you so you could feel safer/more secure. It’s not a gift. It’s a coping mechanism.

Women and men until you process through your burdens that you carry and release them.

I confess. I’ve broken a few men. None done intentionally. I wasn’t ready. I have repented. Immersed myself in my growth, faith and grounding. Knowing now, I’ll never do again.

He awoke to realize I am the hidden gem. Upset he was kept in the dark as I walked away. Misjudged and didn’t see it was I whose value is genuine. Then came their losses, many, as I moved on and flourished. I refused to let the record spin again.. Snapped it in half, left the broken pieces by the phonograph and now composing new. One that I may dance forever to.

When he knew he wouldn’t treat me right he had the decency to let me know and I had the self respect to let him go. He either returned to the old or found a new that would allow him to destroy them… Know your worth or you could be that old or new. Not me. Not ever, ever, ever, ever, everrr.
