A trigger for me that I need to work on is when I'm restraining myself heavily to be as civil as posisble and people tell me I'm being aggressive or mean. My immediate response is "You have absolutely zero conception of what either of those things look like from me but let me give you a preview" and it's something I need to learn to manage better.

Anyway I found out that my friend's abuser is frightened of me because the last time we interacted I had apparently been "Really mean" to him, when in my mind, under the specific request of my friend, I had been as cordial and disengaged as possible because if I so much as stared at him too long I was going to end up doing something to get me involuntarily committed again.

So on the one hand I can, objectively, acknowledge that just because I'm trying really hard to do something does not necessarily mean those efforts are visible or effective. On the other hand given that I needed to be talked out of robbing him I'm like MEAN????? YOU THINK I WAS MEAN????? FOR NOT LAUGHING AT YOUR LAME JOKES?????? MEAN???????????
