One thing the Beatles did well after the breakup is that no one tried to create or tour as the Beatles without the others. Even now when Paul and Ringo sing together, they are Paul and Ringo singing Beatles songs and not "The Beatles"

ELO has way too many spin offs.

Two important points: ELO only owners used to be Bev and Jeff, until Bev sold his part to Jeff in 1999. Jeff wrote and produced all ELO songs.

Jeff fired Kelly in bad terms and then Mik in good terms. Kelly and Mik made OrKestra where they would mostly play ELO songs because their own compositions flopped. Jeff sued them because sometimes they would present as ELO.

Jeff ended ELO in 1986 and rejected Bev's offer to reunite in 1988 so Bev put a group together called ELO part 2 that consisted of ELO former members and new guys. Some of these new guys just happened to change their hairstyles to look similar to Jeff. Jeff sued them because sometimes they would present as ELO.

Bevan ended ELO part 2 in 1999 so the rest of the band made another spin-off called Orchestra. The band is still going around even when it doesn't have original ELO members anymore. Jeff has sued them many times because sometimes they would present as ELO.

One of the "new" guys quit Orchestra and made his own band called ELO Klassik. Jeff sued him because he sometimes presented as ELO.

After Jeff got the full rights of ELO in 1999, he reformed the band and until last year he toured with the current official name that is Jeff Lynne's ELO.

Bev Bevan still continues to play ELO songs under different band names.
