Earthquake...? Or maybe that was just her tummy rumbling...
Flaws: 13. Regardless of whether they would actually act on it… what type of angry, violent, disturbing or vengeful thoughts does your character have?
SOMETIMES I SHOOT MYSELF IN THE HEAD
5. When trying to relate to other people, what does your character find difficult to understand?
Maybe...if they didn’t like music? Or maybe if they had sociopathic tendencies...
Character Flaws: 2, 11
What makes your character lose their patience with someone else?
Hmm...If I have to be completely and totally honest, it’s because of my own personal stress. I try to keep my cool as best as I can.
10-12 for the chara flaw meme!
Who have they hurt, and how/why? Were they sorry for what they did?
I am truly sorry for the pain that my friends have experienced during the year we spent together, and after...but, we have all sacrificed too much to continue to live with regrets.
What’s the worst thing they’ve done out of frustration or a bad temper?
I’ve thrown a few tantrums...
What’s the worst thing they’ve done out of pure malice or hatred?
I can’t say I’ve ever acted on these feelings...
character flaws
All characters have flaws, it’s part of what makes them interesting and relatable. But exploring those flaws can sometimes be tricky, especially when the character is supposed to be a hero. I made this little questionnaire to help me explore some flaws in my own characters. Feel free to use it if you think you’ll find it helpful!
Most of the questions should have some kind of answer, no matter whether it’s as horrible as “they murdered five thousand people in cold blood” or as tiny as “they forgot to return a library book that one time.”
Fill out all the answers or do it as an ask meme, whichever you prefer! (Please, remember to use trigger warnings for the more violent or upsetting stuff.)
What makes your character angry or upset?
What makes your character lose their patience with someone else?
What do they do when they get angry, hurt, or upset, and snap?
When has their curiosity or thoughtlessness lead them to intruding over another’s boundries?
When trying to relate to other people, what does your character find difficult to understand?
Does your character have any prejudices?
When have they totally failed to think of another person’s needs?
What’s the most inappropriate thing they’ve ever done (whether by accident or deliberately) and why?
When have they put their own goals above the safety, happiness, or general wellbeing of others?
Who have they hurt, and how/why? Were they sorry for what they did?
What’s the worst thing they’ve done out of frustration or a bad temper?
What’s the worst thing they’ve done out of pure malice or hatred?
Regardless of whether they would actually act on it… what type of angry, violent, disturbing or vengeful thoughts does your character have?
What crimes or bad deeds has your character committed?
What are some of their worst habits?
What’s the most selfish thing they’ve ever done?
What lies or dishonest/misleading comments have they told? (Including “white lies” to spare someone’s feelings.) Have they ever withheld the truth?
What’s the most violent thing they ever did?
What might tempt them to go against their own moral code?
What do they feel sorry for? What do they regret the most?
What’s the stupidest mistake they ever made?
Why did they split up with their last romantic partner (if applicable)
What made them end a friendship? (if applicable)
What’s the worst thing they’ve said or done to a family member? and finally…
What are they doing, if anything, to make themselves a better person?
pass out after drinking caffeine syndrome ; roxas
@twilight--x liked your post for a starter 477 days ago T_T
Somehow, it felt like the weather only knew how to get colder. Hot chocolate and coffee had lost its appeal a while ago, and now Minako only drinks it to keep her hands warm.
All this caffeine can’t be good, though.
Not only for her, but for a few unfortunate strangers, also. A few people smiled and wave, but others would rather go about their business as Minako chattered with anybody who pretended to listen. She couldn’t ignore a messy head of blond hair, and cheerfully approached him with an arm outstretched in greeting.
“Hello! How are you? We haven’t met, but it’s nice to see you!”

After a few certain incidents, Minako hasn’t felt like herself. She went right home after visiting the veil, and slept for what felt like a week (literally, it was a week), but the exhaustion continued to ride on her back like a needy child. Resentful of her own ineptitude as a result of the last event, Minako had taken it upon herself to push herself to do better, in spite of her better judgement. If she were to be completely honest with herself, she would admit to feeling scared and tired beyond comprehension.
And instead, the better part of her morning had been spent swinging her naginata at a tree, using it for practice. She had carved a few shallow grooves into the bark, but one carelessly decisive swing had sent her blade right through the trunk, cutting the tree down.
Timber cracked and dead leaves rustled as the tree itself bowed against its own weight until an ear-shattering snap resounded as the wood splintered and chunks of bark flung themselves into the air. Minako glanced around sheepishly, hoping that there were no witnesses--but, of course, luck is aggressively flipping her off lately. She noticed the girl a few yards away, and Minako can only look down in shame.
“Uhh...oops?”

“Wha- Whaddya mean? You’re overreacting haha…” Adachi laughed dryly, trailing off. He wasn’t used to being given praise - and it felt kind of nice, being recognized. Minako wasn’t like the other brats he’d run into in his lifetime, she actually had quite a capable head on her shoulders.
“I-I think you did a pretty good out there, Kid,” He said, trying to shift the praise away from himself. He pat her head lightly, showing his gratitude.
“Say, perhaps we should call it for the night, huh? After something like that… you’d need the rest haha,” Adachi suggested, noting how exhausted they must both be.
“Will you be alright? Or do you need a competent adult to walk you home?” He joked, knowing full well she could probably take care of herself, anyway.
Minako can only chuckle softly, not having the energy to argue against it. Once certain her breath has finally caught up to her, she reaches for her naginata and hoists herself up with it, brushing away the snow clinging to her clothes.
“Yeah...that’d be great. I’m staying in the lodge...everybody is, right? So you’d have to go that way anyway, eheh. Thank you again...” Minako can’t help feeling a little sheepish. She can’t be that much younger than Adachi. As soon as she composes herself properly, she sets off towards town in a slow, steady gait.
“...I think I’m going to sleep for a few days when I get home, heh.”

Minako can only watch. Adachi, who seemed so disenchanted and aloof, suddenly stands resolute with a Persona to match. Her limbs feel heavy, and it’s not until Adachi pulls her away that she snaps out of it–what was it? Fear? Awe?
Too many questions that her mind is not quite ready to process; the Veil is close enough, and she picks up her legs to carry herself through.
Once enveloped within the peaceful quiet on the other side, Minako throws her naginata down, dropping to her knees as she wipes the sweat away from her face. Her inclination is to cry, or to scream, or say something, but her heart weighs too much to lift anything else besides the shaky breaths that pass her lips. At last, her mind couples itself with the present, and she’s able to look over at Adachi.
“…Are you okay?”
“Who.. me?” Adachi gasped, catching his breath. They had both sprinted as fast as they could back into the safety of the Veil. The detective still had a spry smile across his face, his cheeks flustered from hustling.
“Never… better, ah,” He lied, though he was feeling quite exhilarated from their little scene in the snow. Adachi had finally been able to summon his Persona, even if it had perished shortly after.
“Wooooooo! What a rush!” Adachi burst out towards the sky, chuckling to himself. His power was once again in his hands. He turned to the breathless Minako, grabbing hold of her shoulders.
“Can you freakin’ believe it? We’ve got our Personas! Haha!” Overjoyed as he was, Adachi almost forgot his place, and who his present company was.
“Oh uh, how about you, Minako-chan? You didn’t get hurt out there did ya?” She seemed a little overtaken at the moment, but it’s not like he could blame her, after the encounter with Death and all. Not to mention, Adachi’s own little episode he had out there…
As surprised as Minako is by Adachi’s outburst, she’s too stunned to actually react further than blinking at him.
She forces a smile, and wipes at the sweat collecting beneath her bangs, along with shaking out the last bit of her nerves.
“Y-yeah, I’m fine. That was...” she trails off. For the first time, she felt helpless. She hadn’t been able to save Adachi--what if he wasn’t able to summon his Persona? she thinks, but he was able, and he was the one to rescue the both of them. Of all the things that they could have encountered, it had to be the most powerful of Shadows. Without Adachi, Death might have won today.
She can’t help feeling a twinge of guilt over her own inadequacy. Now that she has Orpheus again, she can only go up--but she’s useless without a team. In fact, everybody trapped in the Cataclysm may as well be. Even with her wild card ability, Minako had to rely on her teammates to support each other--and after witnessing Adachi’s power, she can only be grateful to be on the same team as him.
“I mean, thank you, Adachi-san. We would have been toast without you.”
How would you react to a door being slammed in your face, then being stuck in a one-second time loop where the door slams into your face?
Doors? Doors…D o o r s…
Do not speak to me about doors.

“Agh!”
The taste and feel of snow and ice against his face took Adachi by surprise. Sure it was already frigid enough, but he hadn’t expected to fall face-first into the damn snow.
“So… This is how it’s gonna be, is it?” He picked himself back up from the snow, locking his gaze with that of Death’s, completely disregarding Minako’s warning.
“You’re really starting to piss me off, you know?” The spite in his voice wasn’t even attempted to be tucked away. Although Adachi knew he no longer had any particular control over shadows like Death anymore, the instant betrayal still left a bitter taste in his smiling mouth.
Looking down the elongated barrel of Death’s gun sparked a strange sensation down Adachi’s spine. Fear of literal death wasn’t something he felt everyday, yet the instinct to survive kicked in fiercely, washing the rest of his thoughts away.
“Heheh, it took you this long to hear me? I could’ve been dead by now, you know,” He spoke fondly towards the glowing card floating down in front of his face.
“Come on…”
“Magatsu Izanagi!”
With a sudden flick of his wrist, Adachi smashed the Jester Arcana card in his palm, immediately summoning an intensified aura around him.
Magatsu Izanagi appeared before them in a brilliant scarlet flash. Clutching the lengthy blade it held in an aggressive stance, it charged forth unto Death, letting loose a quick Zio spell before swinging its blade at the monstrosity.
“Hahahahaa!” Adachi laughed venomously as he watched his Persona charge, literally, into certain death. He clutched his head in a slight surge of pain, suddenly remembering what he was doing in the first place.
“Come… Let’s hurry off before things turn ugly,” He told Minako, grabbing her by the arm and leading them towards the Veil while Death was still preoccupied, knowing full well how ugly he himself must have looked.
Minako can only watch. Adachi, who seemed so disenchanted and aloof, suddenly stands resolute with a Persona to match. Her limbs feel heavy, and it’s not until Adachi pulls her away that she snaps out of it--what was it? Fear? Awe?

ya dun goof’d
@adnunttheherald In an odd sort of mood, Minako allows herself to uncharacteristically space out as she drags her feet along the sidewalk. It’s been such a rough transition being brought here, and the ordeals since her arrival have been anything but forgiving.
She picks up a latte at a cafe to soothe her anxieties, and it’s only when she reaches the Velvet Lobby does her spaciness comes full circle. “Ahh--! Oh--oh my, sorry, I’m so sorry!” she sputters, having been taken aback by the other’s appearance. She has seen stranger, sure, but she was not expecting there to be what appears to be a rock person in the lounge.
“I didn’t mean to be startled, I just--” Minako quickly sips from her latte instead of embarrassing herself speaking further before trying again with a bit more composure, “I wasn’t expecting anyone else to be here, is all!” It’s such a blatant lie. Of course there will be other people in the lobby.

Adachi’s eyes widened in mild surprise as he witnessed the familiar shadow appear before them.
Perhaps it was the odd familiarity Adachi had with Death, that made him not feel so threatened, yet at the same time, he knew just what that diabolical being was capable of.
“Oooh, so that’s what your Persona looks like… I sure hope you know how to use that thing, otherwise this spells trouble for us,” He blatantly told Minako.
Adachi looked around, gun cocked in his hand, as if he were expecting something else to appear out of thin air.
“I suppose my Persona just doesn’t like me right now… Oh well,” He sighed, pointing his gun excitedly in Death’s direction, “Looks like its all on us.”
The smart thing to do was run, obviously, but Adachi couldn’t contain his excitement.
Orpheus swings the lyre at the Reaper, following up with a charged Agi spell. Minako turns for Adachi now, confident that her Persona can handle at least a temporary altercation. “Adachi-san! Let’s go!” She grips him by the arm, picking up her feet as she runs towards the veil. It’s close enough, almost there--
Bang--bang--bang!
Minako doesn’t have to turn her head to know that those gunshots mean Orpheus has been shot down--something she anticipated. What Minako does not anticipate, however, is a strong, sudden gust of wind and snow, pushing right against her and nearly preventing her from taking another step. The Reaper is quick to notice this, and lunges forward.
“No--! Orpheus!” Minako calls her Persona again, and it literally takes another bullet for her before evaporating. “Adachi-san, leave!” Minako prepares to fend off Death long enough for Adachi to make his escape, but to her dismay, the Reaper now sets its sights on Adachi.

“You’re counting on… me?”
That was honestly the worst thing anyone could do in this situation, relying on someone like him. Though the kid’s enthusiasm sure was something.
Actually, in her case, it was definitely smart of her to be relying on the adult here - even if she didn’t know of Adachi’s misdeeds in the past. It was always better to leave situations like these in the capable hands of a grown up.
“Hey, did you hear something?” Adachi stopped dead in the snow. The sound of the wind whistled by his ears, but he could swear he heard the faint sound of metal scraping against metal… chains, perhaps?
“Ominous… I swear I heard chains or shackles rattling,” He muttered, looking around in the blizzard, though nothing could be seen through the thick blizzard.
The atmosphere almost shifts, parallel with the lingering silence. Even the whistling of the wind hushes as the wretchedly familiar shaking of chains cuts an ugly sound through the quietly drifting snow.
Instinctively, she moves closer to Adachi, spinning her naginata to an upright, defensive position.
“If it’s what I think it is, we may be in trouble.” A wide pit of dread opens in her stomach as she utters the words. No brave face or act of heroism will stand up to the Reaper, assuming that will be their first trial of the Cataclysm.
The terror looms like the shadow that appears before them, shaking its chains as it sets its yellow gaze right on Minako and Adachi; the barrels of its guns spinning and aimed to fire.
A feeling like whiplash rattles Minako’s subconscious; memories of previous encounters with the Reaper charge through, shaking lose the same feelings of fear and helplessness. In an instant, time seems to stutter to a pause. Words echo between Minako’s ears; comforting, like an old friend. With or without an evoker, she responds to the call in the only way she knows how--
“Orpheus!”
The master of strings appears in a brilliant flash. The Reaper hesitates, but it shifts its attention to Orpheus for now.

Seeking Messiah - Open
Minako is stunned into silence, simply unable to process all of this information all at once. Velvet Room or not, Minako shares a parallel life with someone--how is she supposed to accept that?
“...--defeat Nyx. Yeah,” she musters, uncharacteristically meek about it, and she’ll blame it on the lump that she quickly clears from her throat. “Isn’t everything we do like from a sci-fi novel anyway?” Minako tries to meet him on the same level of humor, but again--this really is too much. Her thoughts are now gravitating towards the other members of SEES; their reactions, who’d they remember, assuming they were one in the same--or perhaps Minato’s universe holds a different set of SEES members altogether.
“Ugh...” is all Minako has to offer at this point, bringing a hand up to massage at her temple.
“Let’s just--deal with it as it comes, yeah? For now, we press on. I think the most important thing is to get reacquainted with our Personas.” Minako inwardly cringes at herself for thinking this might all line up cohesively, like a self-written plot neatly tied with a bow, but there are no other immediate options coming to her already overwhelmed mind.
With that, she strides further into the snowstorm.
