there is really something so familiar to the trans experience in ralsei's resentment towards flowery. ralsei is trapped in the closet, unable to transition the way they want to, forced to be miserable—or so they want to believe. ralsei doesn't WANT to believe they can be happy. transitioning could literally cost them everything. and flowery's very existence forces them to question that. flowery has chosen to break the rules (transition) and is happier as a result. but he CAN do that! it's easy for him! he doesn't have to fulfill a prophecy to save the world! there is nothing worse for a trans person repressing their identity than seeing another trans person show off how EASY transition was for them and how HAPPY they are now.

Notice how Kris is so small that Susie can easily throw them into space but she never has? This is because Susie is unaware of Kris' dream of being flung into orbit.

Pink's shop in chapter 5 has some of the most emotionally poignant text in the game for me. Just like, the way that she's in this world and she's finally found herself and the first thing she does is appreciate the world in front of her and get lost in the beauty. The way she talks about how she never realized she was lonely until she was finally herself, and now she wants to make new friends and meet people. The way she talks about names and bodies. Bizarre to me that a lot of people apparently got nothing out of that all, it's really well done and I think about it a lot

So she joins a group of flowers, afraid that they'll reject her because she isn't a "real" flower. Just a ghost of a Lightner living a half-life, putting on pretty pink clothes so she can look like the flowers.

But contrary to her fears, the flowers happily embrace her. Despite everything, she's a flower to them. They're all happy she's there! Even if she wasn't born a flower, she's a flower to them.

Mew Pink really is transfem wish fulfillment, isn't she?
