Okay, so I found this in my fic doc, but have no memory of writing it, nor of where I planned on taking it. Therefore- I decided to post it. Clearly, I decided to change how crisis ended but I DON’T EVEN KNOW LMAO
Brainy felt cold and scared. He knew that she was okay. Of course Nia was okay, all the other Super Friends were just fine after Crisis was resolved. Granted, things were a little different all things considered. There was only one universe left, leaving only one planet for all the heroes to share. Not that that was a bad thing, but it got confusing when Brainy heard a pedestrian saying how amazing “The Flash and Supergirl would be as a couple.”
His mind kept replaying the events of Crisis. He could clearly remember the fear in everyone’s face as an anti-matter wave demolished universe after universe. He remembered how badly he wished to be at Nia’s side as the red wave was only miles from him. He remembered crying for Nia as the wave hit him, erasing his existence.
When Brainy did awake again, he was greeted by J’onn’s kind smile and words of reassurance.
“We did it, Brainy!” J’onn had proclaimed, “We stopped Crisis!” Brainy was hit with a wave of relief as J’onn continued to explain how he gave the heroes their memories back and other formalities.
“Apologies, J’onn,” Brainy had cut him off, “But I must go find Nia now.” J’onn simply gave a smile as Brainy left the tower to head to Nia’s apartment. That’s when this wave of anxiety hit him.
As he got closer to Nia’s apartment door, (or what he hoped was her apartment- had she moved in this new post-Crisis world?)he tried to think of what he was even going to say to her. Would she even be there? Did she actually survive to this new world?
“Brainy!” Nia’s door came bursting open as Brainy was met with a tearful hug. He stood in shock momentarily before hugging her back. This, he believed, was the best hug he had ever had. Another wave of relief washed over him. Crisis was stopped and Nia was okay.
“I’m so happy you’re okay,” he spat out, practically refusing to let go of their embrace.
“I am too,” she responded, equally keeping the tight hold.
