i wish they talked more about brad marchand being a step dad because i feel like every family in hockey is a super traditional nuclear family. and i get it and i’m not against it and it’s not a bad thing. but step parents are the best and they are awesome and there are a lot of hockey fans with step parents. And Brad is suuuuuch a good dad. I always see pictures of the holding hands or playing or on boats together. 

when my dad was introducing me to my now step mom i was about 4 years old, and up until that point when i heard “Step mother” all i could think was cinderella, which is a TERRiBLE thing for a 4 year old. As it turned out my step mother is the most amazing person of all time and i love her to death. So i just think it’d be really cool if a parent was saying “oh i’m going to introduce you to this guy” and their first thought is “Step dad? like brad marchand? he’s awesome!”

Further, he was a 21 year old Stanley Cup Champian when he and his wife got together. Think about that. She already had a son, and he was cool with that. Think about the maturity that takes and then remember the culture he's grown up in. It amazes me. He really loves his beautiful little family.

omfg my grandma just told me this story about when Dustin Byfuglien was in her 2nd grade class he refused to do any math problems unless he got a sticker like my grandma would forget to bring stickers and he would just sit there and not do any work unless he got some so my grandma said the winnipeg jets should start giving him stickers after he has a goOD SHIFT SO HE’LL PLAY BETTER I CAN’T
