when you say "get rid of the cursed amulet," i can't help but notice a tone of jealousy. envy, even

Lets get acute radiation sickness. Together
if you're cringing at the genre conventions of the genre you are writing in then why the hell are you writing in it. either have something substantial to say about those conventions or shut the hell up! i will not cringe alongside you at superhero powers and spaceship battles and big eldritch worms and bone magic. i came to this story to SEE that shit and I don't appreciate it when an author tries to pretend they're above the very things they're selling themselves on
stop wink wink nudge nudging me about how silly the genre is, asshole. i like that genre. I'm reading your story because I like that genre. your wink wink nudge nudging just tells me you're too unoriginal to deliver an actual critique and too irony-poisoned to unabashedly enjoy the clichƩs. again I ask: why the hell would you waste both of our times like this
honestly this is true even of genres I don't particularly like! i don't even enjoy romance all that much, but if I'm reading a romance novel, i expect there to BE romance novel trappings in there, and am therefore pretty fine with them existing. there are an awful lot of romance clichƩs that I hate, but it's still not cute or clever to include them just to laugh at them. why would you disrespect your own genre in such a substanceless way. say something true and beautiful NOW!!!!!
Three dimensional characters for the win.
āIt feels better, right?ā is the part that gets me, because it explains everything about Flash ever.
hi everyone can hate on amazing spiderman all they want but ndklnfklngsksfkjnsn this is how you write a real person
Flash being the first person to approach Peter with the genuine intention of trying to comfort him after Uncle Benās death + the allusions to Flashās incredibly abusive home life that manifests at school because heās a kid who doesnāt know how to handle his emotions delivered all in four words = good fucking scene, great fucking understanding of both Peter Parker and Flash Thompson.
A customer contacted our team with questions, and then finished their email with: "I am daunted by the complexities and unknowns." I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since.
Reblog if you are daunted by the complexities and unknowns
Lord of the Rings fanart! I watched for the first time recently and loved it
Pangaea was wasted on the dinosaurs. Imagine the railway network.

This looks like a fucking parody post, or an edgy edit, but itās 100% official real Flintstones.
Clarification: I donāt hate this book, I love it, itās amazing. Itās just that taking a step back and looking it out of context is still really funny. Especially the lineĀ āWe participated in a genocide, Barney.ā
ok but imagine them in their cartoon forms saying this dialogue iām
can we have some context to this, perhaps?
Bedrock is having a mayoral election. One of the candidates is a violent war mongering asshole that riles people up against the lizard people. This reminds Fred and Barney of their time in the army.
Back then the father of said violent candidate was riling people up against theĀ ātree peopleā. Fred, Barney, and other soldiers fought what they believed to be a defensive measure against the tree people. Turns out, it was actually an invasion, in order to kill off the tree people and take over their forest to build Bedrock.
Thatās what Fred means when he says he and Barney participated in a genocide. They literally did.
(Extra fun fact, Barney adopted a tree person baby after the war, and his son Bamm-Bamm is the last tree person.)
just fucking read it

There are a lot of interesting things about this post but the AK-47 shaped spear is what really got me
This is just as wild with the context
