i simply dont think we need another hunger games book esp not about finnick bc that will be a very very hard thing to both write and read in terms of the victor prostitution (and if it is made into a movie it will be awful to watch as well). my lukewarm take is that all of our desires for things that weren't discussed in the 5 thg books we have now should be expressed through fanfiction bc then you can explore concepts the way you want.

the best fanfiction you've ever read was written by a woman in her 40s before she made dinner for her kids. it was written by a teenager after school when they should've been studying for a history test. and a barista came up with the idea while they cleaned the espresso machine and busser fact-checked it on their break and the post-doc edited between writing grant proposals and the nurse apologized for typos in the notes after a long shift and behind every drabble and one-shot and multi-chapter fic there is a person with a wonderful and interesting and chaotic life and it is such a privilege that we get to be a part of it because they decided to do this thing we all share, for fun.

I shouldn’t be surprised, but I am disappointed. I finally get my writing spark back after six long months of being unable to focus and find any creative zest…

…only to get a concussion and possible perforated eardrum during the first full week of the school year.

Now it’s medically advised I not look at screens (where all my WIPs are), limit my time reading (paperbacks, Kindle and AO3) and I’m supposed to ‘rest’. What does that even mean?! My ADHD C-PTSD brain does not comprehend.

I have ideas, I want to be able to play with them…but right now walking is semi-dangerous.

The Pitt has quite the hold on me. ER was my first fandom, and I watched it when I was too young and it was formative in so many ways to how I approach fandom & writing.

Dr. Robby and Dr. Abbott are two traumatized, sweet cinnamon rolls who I’m very attached to and will talk about at length.

I’ve been inspired to write again and best of all my motivation is still here to do so. If anyone wants to talk about this show and the old men specifically feel free to message me or read my works on AO3.
