Clarke’s farewell ball just wrapped up. After Daisy and Rose talked with their father, the three of them headed back to the ballroom. It was nearly empty since it was a little past midnight. Most staff and guests would be heading to bed or leaving.
Daisy said good night to her sister and father, then headed to her chambers. Specifically, her new chambers. Her father had already made sure that she was provided with her own room, since she’s been in Rose’s this whole time.
When she arrived, she opened the door to find a room very similar to Rose’s, just yellow instead of her green. None of her own stuff was in the room yet; it was still all at the sorority house. I’ll have to start bringing my stuff over tomorrow, she thought. But she did find a pair of pajamas in a dresser, which looked very similar to the ones Rose has. It was a simple button-up short-sleeve shirt with matching shorts. She actually found them quite comfy while pretending to be Rose.
She went to the bathroom to change and remove her makeup as the day’s events hit her. She couldn’t believe she was engaged! And the fact that she didn’t immediately get kicked out when everyone realized the charade Rose and her had been playing. She is beyond appreciative that her father is a kind man. And very grateful that Clarke didn’t dump her the second he learned the full truth. Speaking of Clarke, she started to wonder where they’d stay once they were married.
Pushing that thought aside, she finished getting ready for bed and flopped down on her bed. Curious if her soon-to-be husband was asleep yet, she grabbed her phone from the bedside table and was just about to text him when there was a quiet knock on the door. She got up and opened the door to find Clarke leaning against the door frame with a smirk on his face. His eyes traveled down her body.
“Well, don’t you look cute in your pajamas,” he said with a big smile.
Daisy returned the smile and opened the door further to let him in, then quietly shut the door. When she turned around, Clarke pressed her to the door and peppered her face with kisses.
Through her giggling, she muttered, “Clarke!”
He chuckled through his kisses and finally pressed his lips gently to hers.
When they both parted to breathe, Daisy had her arms wrapped around Clarke’s neck, and Clarke had his hands resting on her waist. His thumbs rubbed gentle circles as he rested his forehead on hers.
“I thought you went to bed?” Daisy asked quietly.
Still resting his forehead on hers, he responded in the same quiet voice, “I couldn’t sleep, too happy.” He buried his head in between her neck.
“I love you, Clarke,” Daisy said as she pulled him closer.
He moved his head to look at her, moving both of his hands to cup her cheeks, and said, “I love you too, Daisy.”
They both couldn’t stop smiling. At each other. At the love that was radiating off of them. At the perfect evening they had.
“You’re welcome to stay in here tonight if you want,” Daisy said as she put her head on Clarke’s chest. Clarke wrapped his arms around her.
“I will tonight, but I’m not sure how often we will be able to sneak to each other's rooms. Technically, we’re supposed to stay in separate rooms until the wedding, but I’m not sure how I’m supposed to stay away from you every night till we’re married,” he said with a frown that also seemed like a smile.
“Since when do you, the roguish prince of Ismar, ever back down from a challenge?” She said with a teasing grin.
Clarke chuckled deeply and said, "When your father could easily catch us, and I don't want to get on his bad side before we're even married."
Daisy yawned as she said, "I guess you have a point."
Right after she yawned, Clarke led her over to her bed. "How about we get some sleep?"
He lifted the sheet up to let her crawl in. Once she was settled, he moved in next to her. His arms instinctively came around her waist as she turned to bury herself against his chest. Clarke smiled as she snuggled closer. He pressed a kiss on the top of her head and whispered, “Sweet dreams, my Daisy.”

Day One: Denial
Turning you was Adrian’s only option. Everything good in his life had always been ripped away, like a page from a book. And as he watched you slowly be taken away from the waking world, he knew all he could do was to turn you. But they waited, and waited. You never woke up. He turned you just like he would have turned anyone else. Everyone helped perform the ritual to a T. But you still never woke up.
After waiting hours, it was decided to bury you. To bring you to the cemetery and put you to rest. Adrian couldn’t do it. He could not believe that the one precious thing, the one person he could see himself having a future with, was gone. Lost to a war you had no reason to be a part of. Killed by someone who was supposed to be dead.
And so as they shoveled the dirt over your coffin, he hoped and prayed that you would come back to him. You had to come back to him.
Day Two: Bargaining
Adrian woke with a start. The events of the day before hit him like a dagger to the chest. He wanted answers. He jumped out of bed, dressed, and headed to his office. He needed to research a turning not working. He needed to know why. Why did it not work? If he had turned you immediately, as soon as you were struck, would you have lived? Instead of facing his grief, he dove into books upon books.
After hours holed up in his office, Kamilah came barging in. And the sight of her dear friend stopped her in her tracks. He had so many books stacked around him that it was quite ridiculous.
“What the hell are you doing?”
Adrian sat up a little bit, looking up from his book. “Researching, obliviously,” he said as he made a gesture to all the books around him. “I need to see if there was anything we missed, anything that we need to do differently since she’s a Bloodkeeper. In all our history there has to be-“ Adrian was cut off by Kamilah shutting the book he was currently reading.
“Adrian,” she started, “I know this will be hard to hear, but we did everything we could. I’ve already checked multiple resources and could not find anything that we could have done differently. I-“ she continued as her eyes started to water. “I am afraid she is truly gone.”
Adrian felt himself grip the book he held in his hands. He looked up at Kamilah, his eyes shinning as tears flowed freely down his face.
“I can’t give up Kamilah,” he said as he ran his hands through his hair, tired and almost pleading. “I love her. I can’t just not try to fix it. She does not deserve for me not to do anything about it.”
Kamilah watched as he spoke. She’s seen him at his worst, hell she’s known him for more than a century, so she likes to think she knows him pretty well. But this? They’ve witnessed more deaths than she can count together, but she has never seen him grieve like this.
As gutted as she is over your death, she must be Adrian’s voice of reason.
She placed her hand over his that was still gripping the book tightly, and spoke with a heavy heart, “My dear Adrian, I don’t think this is something you can fix.”
Day Three: Anger
Kamilah was right. This was something Adrian could not fix. And all he could feel was anger. He was frustrated that he could not bring you back, and angry that he couldn’t find anything in his hours and hours of research to bring you back. But mostly, he was mad that he had let Gaius near you. If he would have been stronger, he could have protected you. He could have prevented all of this. His rage hit him like a wave hitting a wall and within seconds, his fist made contact with the closest wall.
“Woah, woah, woah what’s going on?” Jax said has he entered Adrian office, hearing the sound of his punch.
“Nothing,” he replied, cradling his hand that punched the wall in the other while looking down at the ground, seething.
Jax gave him a look, not believing him for a second. He could feel his energy, and it felt like a giant ball of fire.
Despite Adrian looking at the ground, Jax could see how bloodshot his eyes were.
“Listen,” he stared, “It’s been three days, I-“
“Don’t you think I know that?!” Adrian snapped back at him.
Jax was taken aback for a second by his tone, and judging by Adrian’s instant look of regret, he was too.
“I’m… I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to snap at you. I just… I still need time.” He turned towards his window, looking outside at the city.
“Of course,” Jax replied, “We’re all here when you’re ready.”
He quietly stepped out and shut the door, leaving Adrian alone with his thoughts.
Day Four: Depression and Acceptance
He wasn’t really sure how he was supposed to continue without you, but he knew deep down that you would not want him to spend his days wallowing. So today was the day he would leave his office, see how everyone was doing after the fight, after loosing you.
But first, he was going to visit your grave. He needed to be with you one more time.
When he arrived, he was surprised to see Lily leaving.
“Oh!” Lily said once she saw him, “Didn’t think I’d see you out so soon.”
“Well, I wanted to talk to her.”
Lily gave him a sad smile. “Good, I’m not really a religious person but I think she’d be happy to hear your voice.”
Adrian couldn’t muster any words, so he nodded his head, eyes already watering. Lily squeezed his shoulder as she walked by, leaving the cemetery.
He continued forward, remembering exactly where they had buried you four days ago.
He stayed with you for an hour. Sitting next to where you lay as the gentle night breeze swept by. He told you about how you were extremely brave to take on Gaius as you did, and how selfless you were to save them all. He told you multiple times how much he loved you, and how much he missed you until it all became too much for him. That’s when he stood up, and said goodbye.
He walked for the rest of the night, anywhere his feet would carry him. When he ended up in Central Park, he realized that dawn was near. And at that exact moment, he heard a scream, and saw someone who looked just like you chasing a human.
In a state of shock, he stood there for a minute, not believing that you were here. Alive.
Then he watched as you tried to feed off the human, and he was pulled out of his state of shock. You were a vampire now, and very much alive.
I thought of this idea and finally had the ambition to write, which I haven’t had in months. So I’m very surprised I wrote this in one sitting lol. I’m sure there’s a lot of errors and things that are not canonically correct, but I tried 🤷♀️
Because I'm a TE lover and I'm also loving Spellfyre so far, I decided to try to match up the TE attunements with the Spellfyre affinities, and obviously they're not 1:1, plus with there being more attunements than affinities I will focus on covering the affinities, but this is what I've been able to manage:
Sikranos - Air (& metal)
Sikranos is the affinity of curiosity and intellectualism, whose arcanes are wanderers and free spirits. Meanwhile, Air-Atts are known for their curiosity, innovation, and strategic minds, which makes these two brands of magic line up pretty well. However, Sikranos is also associated with metal, so while the characteristics for this attunement don't quite line up with those of Sikranos, it wouldn't do to leave metal out of the conversation. Moreover, the first Sikranos spell, a locator spell, is a metal spell in TE.
2. Felicis - Sun
Felicis is the affinity associated with light. The sun attunement, meanwhile, can be associated with happiness, which is the primary Felicis trait. Sun-Atts are also known for their optimistic outlook on life, making it an even better match. It is worth pointing out, though, that the first Felicis spell is for super speed, which in TE is an air spell, but otherwise Felicis is not like the air attunement.
3. Timoros - Moon
Timoros is associated with darkness, which I think makes it a good match for the moon attunement. Moreover, Moon-Atts are able to sense moods and emotions, which lines up with the way that Timoros is associated with the inner workings of the mind.
4. Penthos - Fire
Predictably, the way that Penthos is the volatile, destructive affinity, associated with fire for its connection to both life and death, fits perfectly with how Fire-Atts "walk the line between providing warmth and protection, and creating chaos and destruction". Fire-Atts feel deeply, which means they must be conscious of when they are getting overemotional when using magic; the same goes for Penthos arcanes, who can be hotheaded and have to exercise discipline and control in their magic.
5. Ikaris - Water
Being associated with water, it's no mystery which TE attunement Ikaris aligns most closely with. While we don't know much about the commonality of specific attunements in TE beyond the tiers they're on, I would say that, given that Ikaris is the most common affinity, it's fitting that it's paired with an attunement of the most common tier.
6. Erolis - Blood (& air)
This is the affinity I found the hardest to pair. One could make a connection between Erolis and earth, because of Erolis's place in gardening, or compare it to wood for its pleasant associations (kindness, gentleness, and reliance on friends), but then, Bardric has shown us that Erolis is not as one-note as that. Instead, I would venture to liken it to blood, on account that Erolis is the affinity of life, and it is not limited to romantic love, but also extends to other kinds of love, such as familial—i.e., blood. This is the attunement I think fits it best, but it must be said that in the Spellfyre universe, Erolis is said to be associated with air, though, as is the case with Timoros and metal, I do not think the traits for the TE attunement match this literal pairing, but I mention air just to not leave anything out. That said, the first Erolis spell, a shield spell, is in TE a sun spell, but I maintain that sun is a better fit for Felicis.
These are the analyses I was able to conduct based on what little content we've gotten so far, and I know that if I were to see playthroughs of other affinities, I would know more about them to strengthen my arguments (or even disregard them for new ones), but for the time being, I think this is a fair matching of affinities and attunements.
Recently I read Kiss of Death and fell in love with these two, so I commissioned @weetlebeetle and GAH they look amazing!!!!
I don’t think KoD is a popular book, I can’t really find anything about it on Tumblr. Maybe it was popular back when it came out? Honestly I can’t remember that time lol. So ig if you need something to read, I definitely recommend if you haven’t!
I read Kiss of Death and it gave me the motivation to draw something for the first time in months lol.
I honestly love these two omggg, star crossed lovers who are both part of separate mob families that hate each other? Sign me up! It’s basically Romeo and Juliet, just a much better ending lol
I commissioned @cashweasel for this like months ago and I thought I posted it but I couldn’t find it anywhere so I guess I didn’t. Anyway I’m posting it now, I love them so much 🥹
