I absolutely love this appeared on my dash. Steve is one of the most respected people in the Marvel universe and I need everyone to understand how far that goes.

Steve’s own enemies respect him.

Steve Rogers is one of the only non-mutants that Magento respects and listens to. Magneto once gained a helmet that could eradicate any anti-mutant feelings someone had. He used it on Steve, who said he still felt the same as before, proving he never had any hatred towards mutants. Magento was so shocked and shamed by this discovery he threw the helmet to the ground, surrendered himself to the Avengers and declared humans and mutants should find a way to peacefully co-exist.

Georges Batroc, a thieving mercenary with morals and iconic Captain America nemesis, has saved Steve’s life multiple times, refused to let him be tortured, and switched sides for him more than once because he trusts in Steve’s judgement and respects him too much to let him die or be tortured (Batroc has also expressed romantic feelings towards Steve but that’s a story for another time).

Dr. Victor von Doom (aka Doctor Doom) has granted Steve access to Latveria (Doom’s country) and allowed him to use anything he needed (the world was at stake and Doom isn’t stupid). Steve has also reached out to him when Doom seemed hurt, even when everyone else told him not to.

In a more recent comic issue, Steve even opened up to Doom about his “shell-shock”, then mournfully added Doom must see that as a weakness. However, Doom answered, “I have more respect for you than you imagine, Captain.”

Then there is Namor, the Sub-Mariner. He’s half Atlantean, half human, and he has a complicated relationship with humans since they threaten his home world (the ocean). He’s declared war and whatnot a couple times, though that didn’t really go anywhere. However, he has a steady respect for and friendship with Steve. He’s rescued him multiple times, worked with him, and once suggested they’d have a threesome.

Even the Red Skull himself has a kind of twisted respect for Steve Rogers. He was buried alive by Magneto and started to hallucinate people from his past telling him to die. Steve appeared last, but told Red Skull he should live and be brought to justice instead of dying, and Red Skull cursed him for “being more good than I am evil”

And there’s more. Friends and enemies alike, nearly everyone has a deep-rooted respect for Steve in one way or another. He inspires that in people, he brings out the best in them no matter where they’re from.

Especially to “lower level” villains such as Batroc, Diamondback and Rhino, he’s had really positive impacts simply by being truthful, respectful and giving them a chance.

Steve Rogers is just that good.

Daybreak - Remember all those pesky little words that turn our favorite World War II vet into a raging psycho killer? Yeah, Darcy helps get rid of those bad boys. Sex happens.

Pulling Me Under - Bucky and Darcy somehow manage to have a lot of sex all while trying not to develop feelings for each other. Darcy in this fic is a complete badass. When I grow up, I wanna be her.

Every Inch of Me Is Bruised by seibelsays  - I don’t want to spoil too much of this but please read it. It’s absolutely beautiful. Basically, Darcy loves Bucky in two timelines…present day and WW II. 

When I waked, I cried to dream again by Ladyboo - Darcy and Bucky love each other in a thousand different timelines. Reincarnation. Lots of sadness but it’s worth the read.

Three Weeks, Ten States, and One Million Reasons to Fall for You by leftennant - My all time favorite Bucky/Darcy fic. I never wanted it to end! Bucky and Darcy somehow get roped into going on a roadtrip with lovebirds Steve and Natasha. They end up falling in love and become the cutest couple ever.

Will You Greet Her With a Knife by danger_floof - Bad guys keep attacking the tower and Darcy runs to the panic room. Only, the panic room is occupied by some hot guy with a metal arm. 

No Time Like the Present by Triangulum - Bucky asks Darcy to hide him from an overprotective Steve Rogers. How can you say no to that?

Please Mister Postman by sachertortes - Classic frienemies to friends to lovers fic. Darcy and Bucky hate each other (it’s hilarious) but have no idea that they are actually each other’s penpals? It works, just read it.

Someone is Bound to Figure it Out by Zephrbabe - Tony tries to get Bucky and Darcy together. Turns out, they don’t need much help in that department. 

Snow Globe Scene by emma98 - Okay, this is it. This is my FAVORITE Bucky/Darcy fic. It’s short and sweet. Read it if you like fluff and ~magic~.

Potato by ZombieCyborgAssassin - Total crackfic but it made me smile. Bucky, Steve, and Sam overhear a conversation between Jane and Darcy.

Eight ways to say I love you by brightsee - Bucky tells Darcy he loves her eight different ways, eight different times, and in eight different situations. My HEART.

Blind No More by Tonight_At_Noon - ALL HUMAN. Darcy has to stop saying yes to blind dates.

So, India is dying.

Look, I know a good number of you are from the US and things aren't amazing there either, but my country is literally on the brink of collapse. So I'd love it if we could talk about that for a minute.

If you can't do anything else, please just read and reblog.

A second COVID wave has taken out the healthcare system. There are no more hospital beds. There's an oxygen shortage. There's a critical vaccine shortage. The Central Government has thrown its hands up and is passing the baton to the State Governments to do what they can.

There are over 16 million covid cases. A record 330,000 new cases reported yesterday - comparable to the US at its peak. 187,000 dead as of today.

There is no plan.

Mass cremations are taking place. The cremation grounds are running day and night and they are short on wood. People are watching their loved ones die while waiting for a hospital bed, and then they're unable to give them the proper burial rights.

Hospitals are overwhelmed. Patients are being confined, two to a bed. They're the lucky ones.

We are on the verge of people dying in the streets.

This is the second-most populous country in the world. The largest democracy. A country that encapsulates over 15,000 years of recorded human history and has endured everything from famine to invasion to colonisation.

We might be at the end. This might be the thing that does us in.

People are dying.

People are dying.

People are dying and there is no plan.

More good news? Variants are popping up. A double mutation strain has shown up. It is resistant to current vaccines. This will not go away. This is the devastation they warned of when the anti-maskers were out protesting the minor inconvenience of covering their face in public.

My country is on the verge of an emergency state. Our government has failed us. This is as dire a situation as it ever could be.

Look. I don't do much with my life. I write fics, some of you have read them and that's pretty much it. I spend my days with my head in the clouds because that's where I like to be.

But two days ago, my grandmother tested positive, had to be taken to hospital and the ambulance caught fire.

She barely made it to the urgent care she needs.

So, here I am, using whatever meager platform I have to cobble this request together. Because I have to do something.

To put things in perspective,

1 USD = 75.22 Indian rupees

1 euro = 90.99 Indian rupees

1 pound = 104.40 Indian rupees

Even a small amount of 5 or 7 or 10 of foreign currency will help a lot. Our government has essentially abandoned us. People have turned to social media for help. WhatsApp groups and DMs on twitter/insta is where we find help. Our helpline is a Google doc. Situation is so dire that hospitals are discharging patients due to lack of oxygen. Every night the same story, oxygen running out in hospitals, citizens running around to somehow arrange for oxygen with minutes to spare. Last night, we had manged to get oxygen to a hospital with 14min to spare.

Please, PLEASE help. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

UPDATE:

The number of new cases has almost hit the 350,000 mark. The total number of covid cases in the country is just shy of 17 million. This is the situation as of 25 April 2021.

Things are dire. People are largely on their own now and help, if any, is yet to come.

President Biden is being urged to ease restrictions or remove to embargo on raw materials that could be critical in India's fight against the virus.

Just a while ago, the US government committed to helping with "a small supply of inputs and components from US companies for production of COVID-19 vaccines in India".

No one needs to die. Things are bad but Indian lives can still be saved without costing American ones.

We've been allies for decades.

We need your help.

Please, please, please find it in your heart to help.

Call your local representative and register your concern. Urge them to offer India aid by way of donating some of the vaccine stockpiles and removing the ban on raw material exports so lives can be saved.

Take this message to other platforms. Spread the word. Those of you on Twitter, please use your voice to promote #indianeedsoxygen.

Most importantly, DONATE WHERE YOU CAN. As little as 5 dollars can make a difference right now.

I've heard from multiple sources that the government-run PM CARES fund is not directing funds to where they're needed and while I don't have exact information, I would advise you to avoid this platform out of caution.

Some of you are rightly concerned about where your money is going.

Again, I do not represent any charity or NGO, am not affiliated with anyone and am not involved in any stage in the collection or distribution of your donations. I'm just a person doing whatever she can so please do a little bit of research to help you identify the best place to put your donation.

Charity Navigator is a good place to get a good overview of your NGOs.

At the very least, please don't let this post die. Don't let more people die. Keep reblogging and yelling about it on social media.

As someone else pointed out in the notes, there is no central helpline. All we have is each other and the little we can do in the face of this chaos.

Help is coming but we're nowhere near safe yet!

Here is a list of all countries who are currently helping and what they're doing for India's crisis

Germany is trying to get oxygen to India

Efforts from the US and UK are underway

The US Government has reacted to India's pleas and is committing to send supplies of testing kits, PPEs and ventilators. They're also looking to help BioE (India's vaccine manufacturer) expand supply.

NO COMMITMENT TO RELEASE THE UNUSED STOCKPILE OF 20 million VACCINES YET FROM THE BIDEN ADMIN.

"When we make decisions on what we're gonna do with additional vaccines, about exporting them, we'll announce them," said Anthony Slavitt - White House Advisor in an interview with CNN (Source: link right above).

Nonetheless, all the international efforts are heartening and will make a lot of difference.

But even as I write this post, the total number of cases in India is 17.3 million, 195,000 people are dead and the number of new cases continues to rise - last seen at 354,000

These numbers will not go down anytime soon, not with what we're working with.

To what extent this one post I made out of total desperation has helped in spreading the word about our terrible situation and in generating donations wherever possible, I will never know.

But I want you to know how grateful this one Indian is to all of you who reblogged, used your platforms, opened your wallets, found the goodness in your heart to help and didn't give up on us.
