Background:
A bastard is born of passion. It was a common belief in Dorne, and certainly one upheld in the Vyrwel house. While the infidelity may have strained his father’s relationship with his lady step-mother, Tryston was never shown resentment from the noblewoman. He was allowed to live in the palace, permitted to eat at the table, ride alongside his father, train in the yard and study literature and history with his half sister. Though, being a bastard, he was never forced to learn the proprieties of court. This never bothered him, and he took advantage of his freedoms from the responsibilities of lordship as he grew.
He would venture north, spending time in The Reach, sail the sea of Dorne with lords and ladies, and when justice in the principality demanded it, he would ride North with wandering crows, escorting prisoners to the Wall.
The bastard is known to be a troublemaker, playing tricks on palace staff for fun or making hellions of younger children about the towns and palaces he visited even well into his twenties. His energy was welcome however, despite often becoming ‘a thorn in the side’ of his family or hosts.
