“me? think inappropriately?” jaeki scoffs, and rolls his eyes playfully, “briair, really? should you even question that? we haven’t known he each other long, but, i can assure you that i would never ever have an innocent thought.” he smirks and nods his head confidently, “always dirty thoughts, more fun that way.” he muses. 

he’s honestly not sure if briar can handle his worst. but he can still give her fun. once they make it to the carousal, jaeki intertwines her fingers and drags her forward. with a smirk settled on his mouth he picks her up by her waist abruptly and drops her down on one of the horses, making sure to give her a playful squeeze to her sides, offering a wink before sliding into one next to her, “i promise it’ll be worth your while, sweets.”

“--I guess, I don’t really know you at all. But, spare me all those. I still can prove to you, innocent thought isn’t always as boring as it may sound.”

Briar throws a playful smile on his way, followed with a chuckle. Hanging out with him is different, almost like a breath of a fresh air. Since they’re coming from different background and different personality. But, surprisingly, they still can get along well. A hearty laugh fell from her lips as he suddenly picks her up and put her on one of the horses. She watches him as he took the empty spot on her side and she smiled as they start to move.

“--It already is.. Thank you for hooking me up with the decision to escape work for once. Let’s be real, this is more fun than catching you sneaking into Zavie’s office.”

“ this is insane but.. ” he started, mouth parting as he tried breathing through his mouth — doing so just so he couldn’t breathe in her irresistible scent. “ no.. forget it. ” he let out, emotions at war within him as he weighed down his options. “ i’m sorry. i’m just.. i’m so fucking.. ” he rasped, eyes shifting back and forth quickly as he continued to go against his nature. hands immediately went to his temples as he tried to calm his raging mind. the moment her question reached his ears, he was instantly next to her, shutting the door as he stared down at her. 

his eyes were still shifting, his expression pained as he looked down at her with waning control. “ briar, you do know what i am, yes ? ”

“--Yes, I do.”

Her instinct told her to leave the room, but her body refused to move. Bold colors swirled inside her. His frantic moves, gestures and emotions spark yet another questionable option that rages in his mind. Briar could scarcely believe that this is the same man who had approached her months ago, offering her to work for him at this bar. He didn’t appear to be the same person. Holding her hands up against him, she shook her head slightly.”

“--You don’t want to do this.. trust me..”

Zavier sighed heavily at the desperation in her voice to help him. Why was this human child so damn defiant with everything? Sometimes it was strangely admiring and other times it just got on his nerves. Right now he was sitting in the middle on what emotion to lean on. Be annoyed or become intrigued? He was too tired to decide or even fight her for that matter. The blood he just drank was ice cold so it festered through his body slowly to start the process of healing. “Fine.” He greeted his teeth through the pain in defeat. “Just help me up the stairs, will you?” He steadily approached her wrapping his arm over her shoulder to hold on so he wouldn’t fall over and freak the poor girl out even more. Each step after the other up the stairs cause soft groans to come from the vampire. 

It had been awhile since he bit his last bullet. Maybe with his age the pain was less tolerable now. Once the made it to Ardan’s room Zavie couldn’t help but curl his lip in disgust towards his friend. He could only think of what joy he would get finding out that Bri was in his room. “Okay.. thank you.” He grunted making his way to the bed. “Guess my age is finally catching up with me…fuck.” He smirked slightly before leaning back on the bed. “Ahh damn it this hurts.” He breathed through his nose and closed his eyes. “Why don’t you come lay down? I’m sure you need some rest as well after all thats gone down tonight.” He opened his eyes and patted the bed. “I promise I won’t bite. I’ve already had my fix for the night.”

Her thoughts filled with endless possibilities of how he might react to her ‘demand’. It was quite outrageous of her to actually ask her employer to listen to what she needs to say. But, she knew him better to rule out his perseverance as her own reason to make him to do so. He’s not going to die, at least not under her watchful eyes. When he agrees to her request, it still renders her off guard. Before she can recover from her shock, Briar could feel his firm arm snaked around her shoulder. Instinctively, she secured her arms around his waist and lead him to the stairs. Instead of saying anything that might change his mind, she was more than proud that she manages to keep her mouth shut for the entire journey to the upstairs.

The door swung open and they were greeted by a sight of an empty bedroom. Comfortable and inviting. She was only realized now, how much drained she gets from the things that happened earlier. Holding back a grimaced upon listening to his grunts, she closes the door behind her.She watches him warily, as he took his steps toward the bed. Her eyes flared slightly, at his attempt of throwing a joke at her, much to the irony of how the evening had turned out to be. A small smile slipped from her lips as she took the empty spot on his side and lay down on her back.

“--I can’t believe you still can crack a joke, in amidst of the pain.”

She said, before her gaze softened as she look at him.

“--Are you sure that you are going to be alright?”

 “I suppose you are right, though there’s just something about clowns that just isn’t right.” She shook her head trying to get rid of the clown images that popped into her head. “ It’s nice to meet you too Briar. Are you new to town or have you always been a resident of this lovely town?” 

“--Clowns? Don’t tell me that you’re scared of them?”

She pursed her lips together and give the young woman a once over, with a genuine curiosity.

“--Well, you could say that I’m new? I lived here for only a few months now. How about you? Do you happen to be an old face around or also a newcomer?”

“I honestly can’t watch that without putting on the original right after. I am just a sucker for practical effects at times.” She replied with a small chuckle. “Movie preferences? I love Sci-fi and fantasy too and sometimes the odd rom-com”

“--I guess, both of us have respects the originality, despite how old and classic they might look when compared with their remake or adaptation.”

She chuckled with her.

“--Odd rom-com? What movie that you had in mind?”

“Exactly, they are classics for a reason, because they are so freaking amazing that nothing will top them, especially a re-make with some pretty crappy cgi added in to the mix.”

“--I agree. The remake of Night of the Living Death is one of the examples. The 3D effect can't even keep up with any level of competence or excitement. Sometimes, it’s best to let them the way they were.”

She quipped it from her father’s long speech about the movie itself.

“--Although, do you have any preferences aside from horror?”

“well,“ she hummed out in thought. "while being a man littered with problems and a long list of people who’d rather him dead, he can actually be quite lovely.” a smile took her lips.

“he can grow to be quite compassionate, and puts a lot of value protecting those who he cares about.” her mind mulled over how he had taken kade in, as well as how he raised lily. he was quite the protector, really. it was something that she adored. “though, he’s never been my employer so i’m not sure how to prepare you to be his employee.”

“--Well, from what I heard, I feel like you both are really close. So, it’s more like an insight from someone who came from his inner circle.”

She had heard rumors about her employer, Ardan in particular. Some might have questioned her decision to work for him and Zavier. But as far as she’s concerned, they have been treating her well.

“--Do you have any suggestion regarding work around the vampires? I will be sharing the room with Zavier. I just don’t want him to feel like it isn’t safe to be around me..”

Zavier couldn’t help but feel perturbed at the point when Bri brought the glass to his lips like a helpless toddler. He was perfectly capable of drinking a glass on his own yet he refused to make a remark towards her kindness. It was more than anyone else would do in this situation for him. In one huge gulp the thick red liquid was gone within the blink of an eye. He then slammed the glass down and hurriedly reached for the decorative glass bottle and brought it to his lips to chug. With it being cold it made his stomach churn in discomfort, but the need from his that craved it suppressed the disgusting chills running down his spine. 

It was almost animal like the way he consumed it. Blood from the bottle flowed passed his lips and down his neck. Normally Zavier was much cleaner when it came to his feeding. He may have drank blood to survive but he wasn’t a savage. Once it was all gone Zavie slammed the bottle down feeling not fully satisfied, but at least his hunger was suppressed for now which was good for Briar’s sake. His body could focus on nothing but healing now. “God. That was disgusting.” He rose from the stool nearly stumbling since he was too stubborn to let her help him up. “We should lock the door and rest here for the night.” He spoke holding himself against the wall managing to get to the door they just entered through to lock it. “It’s safer here for you since I can’t do much right now to protect us both. Ardan has a room here you can sleep in for tonight. Come I can show you where it is.” He held onto his shoulder his breathing slowly regaining back to normal. “I’ll be okay go you can stop looking at me like I’m about to die. It’s gonna take more than a bullet to get rid of me.”

Being this close to him, all Briar could smell is the metallic tang of blood lingers in the air around them. Her stomach churns at the sight of another side of him, which she never dared to witness. It should’ve scared her and drove her away from him. Yet here she is, keeping a hand on the small of his back, as she watches the man downed the entire red liquid straight from the bottle. Her gaze flickered on his features as soon as he was done, but before she could stop him, he was already on his way to the door. He still seemed unsteady on his feet, but she could only guess it’s because the blood hasn’t kicked on his system. She was dumbfounded when he addressed about the way she look at him, a hint of a blush appears on her cheeks.

“--Just do me a favor. Stop being so bloody stubborn and let me help you, Zavie. For this once, please..”

She was scared, yes. Seeing him in his pool of blood before her almost bring the tears to her eyes, but she was more than willing to hold back any sign of emotions and focused on getting him away safely. Ignoring his words earlier, the blonde take a couple steps closer to him.

“--Now, which way? Upstairs?”

His mouth was severely dry and his body felt frail to the point where he needed a tiny person like his fellow employee to latch onto so he could walk into the bar. One of the thing Zavier hated was appearing weak and pathetic in front of others. He despised that worrisome expression that defined her gentle features every time she looked over him. Briar should be be more worried about herself since she was dealing with a vampire who’s nearly lost half his blood from a gunshot wound. He was going to need blood to recover. Fresh blood would be preferred, but she was the only person around so he refused. He was afraid that one drop of fae blood could awaken his blood lust state and after that he wasn’t so sure he could stop himself from hurting her. “Thanks..” He uttered in a low begrudging tone as he shoved through the door along side her. It was a side of him she didn’t deserve since she was helping him right now, but Zavier was pissed for a severity of reasons. First of them being who in the hell would be so bold to shoot at an innocent girl and who the fuck did these people think they were messing with. Landing at the bar Zavie sat at the stool to rest for a moment. His breathing started getting heavier. “Behind the bar.. there’s a decorative glass bottle filled with blood.. reach back there and give me some please..” He groaned out that last part holding his side. “Hurry..”

She looked around for one last time before she pushed through the door, in order to make sure that none of the masked figured had followed them.

“--Don’t thank me yet, we still need to take care of your wound.”

She half dragged his limp body across the room. Even after he was seated at one of the stool, she was still reluctant to let go of him. From his labored breath, she knew that the wound wasn’t showing any sign of improvement. He must survive and get this through, she mused to herself. Suddenly, it struck her. She couldn’t even bear the thought of him dy-- No. The weight of that word hangs heavy and unspoken, as if she was swallowing her tongue. Her mind spins at his order. Then, it all makes sense to her, about why he didn’t start healing. She pushed him gently and propped himself up against the counter, before she made her way behind the bar. Keeping an eye on him, she began to rummage the line of the glass bottle and found the one that he described. Picking up an empty glass and a napkin from one of the stations, Briar rushed to his side. She pours a glass of the red liquid and clutch the glass on his hand. She warily guides the tip of the glass against his lips, giving him the push to start drinking.

“--Here..”

“Oh, am I getting lectured?” He reaches forward and pokes Briar’s nose. At the suggest about the vampire he smirks, “Oh, spend time with you and him. Depends on what kind of time spending we’re talking about. i wouldn’t mind the two of you at the same time, though.” He smirks, and winks. Dreams were dreams, though. He muses to himself. He grins at her offer, “Ah! That’s a great idea. I call the one that moves!” He laughs, and tugs Briar to walk faster, “I will kick a kid off of it, okay? I’m not kidding.”

“--Maybe..”

She scrunched up her nose and nudge his chest playfully, before a hint of a blush grows across her cheek. Jaeki and his flirty nature always caught her off guard ever since they met.

“--Oh, I believe it’s still the ‘appropriate’ kind of activity. Now, now.. Don’t tell me that you’re thinking the otherwise..”

The fae manages a laugh, as she keeps up with his steps.

“--Do your worst, Jeong Jaeki. After all, you have promised me ‘the fun’ and how it’ll worth my while.”

“So would I, I mean if you think about it that would be the logical thing to do and not walk over to your impending death.” She replied as she ran her hands through her hair. 

“My dad isn’t that big of a horror fan, I got into them myself and I totally prefer the classics over the new ones, especially the remakes of the classics.”

“--Exactly. As ridiculous as it may seem, horror movies tend to defy against logic. Sometimes it makes things more suspense, if not predictable or boring. If my father is here, he'd start throwing his theories about the main character -- Hitchcock's style -- thus making it more interesting.”

She manages a chuckle, before taking a sip from her drink.

“--I agree. The classics are raising the high bar, which is quite a high expectations to fulfill by its successor.”

”That would be the right Jason.  If it was Friday the 13th  at the the sound of any noise I would be high tailing it out of these woods.” Lillian said with a chuckle. “Sor-” Catching herself from apologizing once again she simply nodded her head. “I understand, I’m Lillian by the way.”

“--When compared to its peculiar nature, Friday the 13th got nothing against this town.”

A small smile crept on her features, before soft laugh fell from her lips. The noises could come from something as unexpected as other supernatural creatures, which could be more dangerous than the villainous character.

“--And I’m Briar. It’s a pleasure to meet you, Lillian.“

he blinks before quickly shaking his head, frowning. “ no, no — it’s alright, ” he says quietly in reply, raising a hand and beckoning her to fully enter. “ i was just.. lost in thought, ” he adds, yet the thoughts did not leave him. he still felt the anxiety humming just under his skin. the vampire turns his sharp gaze towards the girl, head tilted as he tries to recall who she was.

it takes a while but his senses finally pick up a sweet scent that fully envelopes the space they were confined in — a scent he was completely familiar with. he swallows, hard. 

“ briar —– ? ”

“--Y--yes?”

The fae musters with a bewilderment. Her brows knitted together as she found herself staring at her employer. He looks.. different from the last time they ever share a conversation. But, it was months ago, yet she can’t seem to remember much about the night when they first met. Clearing her throat, she finally realized that she was still lingering in the entrance. Her fingers still grasped against the door as if she wouldn’t let herself in.

“--Is there anything I can help you with?”

amelia smirked at the fae’s passionate words. it was endearing to say the least. she hoped that she wouldn’t feel so negatively after time passed.

amelia pressed her lips into a flat line at the newly mentioned name. a lot of feelings and memories can be triggered by something as simple as a name. she twisted the flat line into a smile and nodded her head. “yes, I do. i’ve known him for awhile.”

A hint of a frown marred against her features, as she edged closer. There’s something within the look in her eyes that caught her interest. It wasn’t her place to speculate, but she couldn’t help to wonder about the meaning beneath the change of her expression.

“--I’m afraid I don’t know much about him. I worked for him, yes. Yet I only got the chance to meet him once, back when he recruited me. Do you mind telling me more about him?”

Her train of thoughts was halted by the sound coming from the engine roars with each thrust. When she came to think of it, it’s a miracle, about how they could possibly able to find a way to escape from the chaotic scene and heading to the safest place that Zavie could think of. The grip of her hands tightened around the vampire’s waist, as they take a sharp turn on the stranded alley. The sight of the Crimson’s front door appears across from them and a soft sigh slipped from her lips. Washed by the sense of comfort brought by the familiarity of this very place, she manages to calm down, even for a bit. She swiftly climbs down from the back seat and draped her arm around the other’s hips, to lend some support. Her gaze warily trailed across his abdomen.

“--Hey, I got you. Now, now. Can you walk? Come on, I’ll help you.”

Lecia loved movie and her favourite ones had to be fantasy and horror, so she couldn’t pass up the opportunity to watch one at the Pier. This one however was had all the predictable tropes of a horror movie. “I think that she’s both, if I seen somebody in a mask I would get the hell out of there.”

“--Typical horror flick, I’m afraid. But it was way too predictable, if I’m being frank. Like as soon as I spotted someone in mask, I would scarper myself away from the scene, as fast as I could get.”

She musters a laugh and flashing an easy grin at the young woman.

“--My father was a fan of classic horror movies.. Halloween, Psycho, you named it. He would’ve been able to tell you everything about it, including the smallest details. He’d be so disappointed to watch the horror movie nowadays.”
