Just a reminder that this exists in the world.
Attack of the Killer Tomatoes (1978)
Once upon a time we had a Yankee Swap at work for Christmas. And I decided to do a Tomato-themed gift basket: tomato pasta, pasta sauce, pizza sauce, salsa, sun dried tomatoes, etc. And I wanted to include a copy of Attack of the Killer Tomatoes as the pièce de résistance . I went to the mall, to our local Suncoast Video. My Wasband and I used to love to go there, sometimes just to chat, because all of their employees were complete movie geeks and so were we.
I walked up to the counter, there were three or four employees standing there. I said, “I’m looking for a movie, it’s a little bit obscure. It’s called Attack of the Killer Tomatoes.”
IN UNISON, all four of them said, “It’s out of print.” They didn’t even have to look it up, they all knew what movie I was talking about and that it wasn’t available .
Damn but I miss Suncoast Video.

If you need some adorable today.
The above costume is an excellent example of a theatre costume being reused for a film. Archie Nathan’s 1960 book Costumes by Nathan notes that the armor that Jean Seberg wore in the movie Saint Joan in 1957 was initially made for Ellaline Terriss for the play St. Joan in 1911 at the London Coliseum.

60 year old historian Martin Bühler (who identified himself to the press, I do not identify activists without consent) appears to ‘photobomb’ a lot of media images of the G20 in Hamburg. In reality he is a long time observer documenting police brutality. In Hamburg he chose to cultivate the most non-activist ‘white bystander in a suit with a bike’ look he could manage and casually walked in front of police. As police slowed down or interrupted attacks and waited for the ‘bystander’ to get out of the way (being caught on camera trashing what look like bystanders is bad press after all), activists had time to regroup or retreat.
oh my god, what a fucking badass
This is how you use privilege
I made a comic about every comment thread under any content involving a fat person existing. Ever. This counts as my inktober #1 because I spent way more time on it than I should have.

SAY IT AGAIN FOR THE BROS IN THE BACK
I bought a new bra this weekend. And every time I got bra shopping it’s so obvious when the designers are male. Skimpy straps, scratchy lace, and silly bows all over things. This bra had a button on it. When I got home I took a closer took, it isn’t even functional, it’s entirely decorative. Why does it need to be there?
And then I took another look.
And I realized....
It’s not a button, it’s a clitoris.
Because clearly this bra needed a vulva between my boobs.
MEN!
I can’t believe this guy mansplained mansplaining.
