So im currently Reading fearless - and I’m only on chapter 5 or 6 I think and Paedyn detests the marriage thing because it’s not what she planned or imagined or wanted. But all Kai is thinking that his fucking heart is breaking seeing her with someone else.

And Paedyn (to this point) didn’t ever think in that direction? In this way like oh but I wanted it to be Kai or what about my love for him etc etc. I’m not sure I can put it into words but at the end of reckless she thought the three words - I love you - but didn’t say them to him. And ofc she’s obviously traumatized and stressed about the marriage thing but so is Kai and all his thoughts are about her and how this wedding is wrong because seeing her with someone else is wrong Blabla but hers… aren’t? And I’m not saying that I hate her or any of it but I’m only wondering… will she ever get to this point? That it should be him, that she’s desperate after him?

Did I miss the hype of crescent city?

I just finished the first book and it fucking BROKE me! Bryce and Danika??? Connor???? The whole conflict around Ithan? I feel like crescent city consists of so many small details, all the relationships, the tiny puzzle pieces, THE PLOTTWIST?! I was crying my eyes out with Bryce and Danika at the end…. Such a good book!

Xaden didn’t just marry Violet so Tyrrendor would have a ruler after he was gone. He didn’t just do it so that she could protect Tyrrendor.

He married Violet so the title would protect her. He laid it out plainly when they were in Deverelli and he called her his consort—“the designation gives you the protection and privileges of my title”. The easiest way to kill venin-Xaden would be to kill Violet and hope that the bond does the job for them, but now that she’s Duchess of Tyrrendor? With the entire army of the largest province in Navarre under her command? And all the wealth and power held by the Riorson family? The Navarrian command can’t touch her.

Because Xaden used Tyrrendor to protect Violet, not the other way around.

It’s been 0 days since I’ve cried over Onyx Storm.

I wonder if there’ll be a moment in the next books where Violet fights against Xaden. Like not full on battle but like him not being himself anymore and Violet stepping in before he could hurt someone innocent or someone they love. If we get this moment of Violet standing up against him. Maybe something like enemies to lovers and back to enemies and back to lovers. I mean it would fucking break me but

I started the Fourth Wing Series for the first time on the 25th of January and am now done with my second re-read. In between my re-read of Iron Flame and Onyx Storm I read Fourth wing AGAIN.

I have to leave them behind now. It’s been a whole month from coming home from work and grabbing my book straight away. I was hooked on acotar before but not like this.

I’m gonna miss them all like hell for the next two years. What has happened to me 😭 how will I cope

Onyx Storm thoughts (and Spoilers) Ch. 64/65

So imagine Violet just killing Theophanie, then probably passing out (“then I hear nothing”). Teirn and Andarna are there with her, knowing what must’ve just happened with Xaden, Teirn being aware of Sgaeyls emotions.

Then after doing what he did, Xaden and Sgaeyl get to Violet, who is passed out between her dragons. And we already know Teirn didn’t trust Xaden during OS because he’s Venin but like now???! Seeing him and knowing what we all think went don’t with Naolin, he must’ve been SO furious. Even at Sgaeyl for bringing him and then Xaden LOOKING like a full on Asim now.

Maybe Andarna was even a Voice of reason at this moment and knowing violets heart and not being blinded by rage and protection mode like Teirn she probably spoke for letting Xaden pass.

And what is Xaden feeling knowing Violet is passed out between her dragons? Is he raging? Or is he trying to feel anything?

And THEN! Violet fucking waking up and seeing Xadens red veins around his eyes over her and there must’ve been like even just one second of major fucking panic. Like… how would she be feeling at that moment?

I’m thinking a lot about that still. I hope we get some insights in book number 4 but like… what am I even doing with my life until then?

Xaden Riorson’s actions in Fourth Wing and Iron Flame both make more sense and become infinitely funnier when you remember that the man is 22-23 years old.

This man is AT BEST a first year grad student trying to finish compulsory military service in an active war zone while running the family business (ruling a legit kingdom) and taking on extracurriculars (leading a rebellion) as side hustles. On top of that there’s a literal plague of evil descending, institutional racism is against him, and his Situationship (calling Violet that cuz a lot happens there over two books and I’m trying to cover all the relationship levels) never seems to settle out for more than a month at a time.

Like, of course the decision making is not always on point. The man doesn’t even have a fully developed pre-frontal cortex yet and he hasn’t slept the recommended amount in 6 years.

Onyx Storm spoilers about Xaden & Tairn

Does it break anyone else's heart how much Tairn doesn't trust Xaden now? I'm sure his backstory with Naolin will come into play a lot (assuming the theory that Naolin turned venin is true), but it hurts reading how much Tairn just wants Vi to leave Xaden for her safety 😭 like I get it, it's super unsafe and dangerous, but he has absolutely no hope for a cure (again, makes a lot of sense if he tried to cure Naolin etc).

And like, it is very characteristic of him to be so protective of Violet, but I also wonder how it affects things with Sgaeyl too? Obviously Sgaeyl is pissed and heartbroken about Xaden turning venin, but she clearly still cares very deeply for him, like genuinely in the glimpses and insights we've gotten to see into their relationship, I think Sgaeyl and Xaden might have the closest bond out of all the riders and dragons 👀 she goes so hard for her boy and I love to see it. So does it bother her that Tairn is telling Violet that Xaden is a lost cause?? Like, I'd probably get mad at my partner if he thought my son had no hope left??

Again, I think it's totally in line with everything we know of Tairn's character, I mean, him and Xaden are so similar and Xaden would also kill anyone who puts Violet in danger without hesitation. But it just hurts my little Xaden-and-Tairn-loving-heart because they really did seem to have a begrudging mutual respect for each other (one of my fav moments is in Fourth Wing when Tairn asks Violet why she's pushing Xaden 😭 like he's actually concerned for Xaden's wellbeing too). I just want Xaden to get the cure so Tairn can have a soft spot for him again 😭😭

I finished Onyx Storm last night and how are Sloane and Dain the only thing I can think about? They had like three scenes. This is why I can never have nice things.
