As much as I enjoy the concept of Bratlin Celebrini and Will Smith Brat Tamer, I (through my rpf goggles) don't see Mack as a brat outside of his relationship with Will. Everything I know about him makes me think that he's incredibly polite and humble, that he prefers working hard for the things he wants over being handed anything. He'd rather bite his own tongue off than say anything that might come across as rude or asking too much. Plus, the 20 years of his life have been full of sacrifice - Mack is not a guy that expects or is used to always getting what he wants. He's incredibly driven and takes hockey so seriously that it may seem obsessive to outsiders, but he's not a brat.
Except, then he gets to know Will, and Will is confident and unapologetic about wanting things in a way Mack hasn't known. Will knows how to make jokes that could be understood as mean if Will wasn't so damn charming. Will was supposed to harbor some remnant of hate for Mack after their BU/BC days but instead, he took one look at Mack and decided that they were partners now, and he never cared about any of the things that make Mack feel like an alien among human people sometimes.
Will tells Mack to dream big and be proud and speak things into existence. He laughs when Mack is intense and ridiculous. He listens to Mack's yapping, throws in a 'yes, and...' every once in a while. He made Mack his partner in crime for pranking teammates. When Mack says or does stuff that warrants getting mad, Will asks what's wrong, and when Mack doesn't want to talk about it, he finds a way to distract him instead.
Will and Mack have confirmed that Mack punched Will's windshield when he got impatient and annoyed because Will didn't take him home fast enough at the end of a long day, and that Mack refused to apologize for it. Will told this story with a big fat smile on his face and Mack blamed the softness of Will's windshield. Can you imagine Canada's prince of hockey accidentally breaking anyone else's windshield? He'd be mortified and apologizing a million times.
Anyway, Will Smith Hockey made his boybestfriend into a brat because he likes it. He walks his good little brat like a dog and he could tame him, thank you very much, but most days he enjoys the growling and biting. Every so often Will tells people the story of his windshield and people are like, What's wrong with that guy? Will looks over to his favorite person and thinks, Nothing you'd understand.
accidentally noticed how thick and filled out will has gotten in the past 1-2 years. oh my god. i need that. i need him. oh my god. oh my god. on my tongue oh my god. i feel broken. i need that. his neck is so thick.
anyone else feel like will can’t do anything without people being weird. it’s one thing to make lighthearted jokes, but to tear him down lowkey..😭 “he doesn’t know me” which is exactly why some of the things being said r weird…
i’ll bite. i don’t really understand posting something on a public account to a public platform and then getting upset it’s circulating as if you didn’t video two well known players. video isn’t even that bad either im assuming (haven’t seen it bc it’s under wraps like a government secret) but i digress.

the truth was a quiet, heavy thing that lived in the space between the both of you. the reason you and macklin weren’t a “thing” wasn’t because he was some untouchable college athlete who loved being chased. he wasn’t the one keeping the distance. no, you were the one holding back.
you liked him, of course you did. you liked the way his presence calmed you down from whatever spiral you were going through mentally that week. but the idea of commitment felt like standing in the middle of a frozen lake, waiting for the ice to crack and pull you under to drown, it was suffocating. you had never gave relationships a chance, usually preferred to keep things short and to the point. it was a crippling feeling to be truly known, to be expected to show up when things weren’t easy, when things mattered more.
you loved what you and macklin had. you loved the hours you spent with him, especially when the both of you were tangled in the dark and basking in a win from a game. it was stripped from complications, at least the ones you ignored, the ones macklin stopped bringing up with the hope you’d be ready to walk further with him.
everytime he leaned in, his lips would brush yours with a softness you could never describe, a softness you would never feel from someone else. you could always feel the weight of everything he held back, he was afraid to startle you. he placed all the affection and loyalty he wanted to give you in his kisses, all of it waiting for whenever you were ready to take it.
even when you had your moments, your spirals, you always gave him an out, but he never took it. he’d crawl in bed with you, holding your head to his chest as he rubbed your back and talked about any and everything, not expecting you to do anything in return. the days where your hadn’t left your bed in days, hadn’t spoken in days, he was always there.
macklin wasn’t anyone else, he always stayed right there, attention fixed on you, offering a devotion you didn’t know how to accept, let alone carry. he was willing to be everything, you just had to let him.
how do i project my super sad ocd anxiety ridden brain and thoughts onto mack for a fic. usually i cant read angst bc it forces me to be one with myself but i kinda need a chronically compulsive obsessed anxious macklin that wsh learns to manage
i did indeed just delete my requests posts bc a lot has happened in the past week/couple of days and now i’m in an awkward mental space. i unfortunately lost all inspiration to want to write atm, at least for something specific. i am so sorry to the people who didn’t get their requests:(
