So I saw 'Assassins' this weekend in London at the Menier Chocolate Factory. First off, the theatre was excellent. Very small venue, only five long rows of bench-style seating on either side of the stage area. The actors also used the stairs between the rows at various times during the show, so the audience was almost within the play as well (at one point Catherine was basically 5 ft away from me, le sigh). The show was just fantastic, one of the most unusual musicals I've seen, but that's what was brilliant. Aaron Tveit was amazing as John Wilkes Booth and of course, Catherine was a delight to watch. Her Southern accent and goofy mannerisms had everyone laughing. And she looked gorgeous too. The rest of the cast was also lovely. Everyone contributed so well to the overall story, I was really captivated. So happy I got tickets for this, my cousin and I had a great night out. The pre-birthday theatre trip tradition continues!
