I wouldn’t say we’re sleeping on them. These women aren’t getting signed, their music isn’t being promoted like these wack ass make artists, people actually have to do extensive research to find these artists’ and honestly - ain’t nobody wanna do all of that. In order for some artists or songs to blow up - that shit literally gotta be shoved down our throat.

But since these women aren’t being signed or promoted enough, it’s our job as fellow black women to support them. And I don’t mind doing my part.

True ^ what most people mean when they say there’s no female rappers they mean mainstream ones who are ruling the music industry.

It sucks no one is signing some of the most talented people. I always thought that there’s so many people who are talented but don’t have the opportunities as most famous people or it’s just a sexism/racism issue going on.

Also on another note, there can be more than 1 good female rapper instead of pitting them against each other. Ya’ll do realize that there can be more than 1 “Queen of Rap”! And ya’ll can appreciate a female rappers work, style, and music without having to put others down and compare them to other like “Oh, this new rapper is trying to be like this rapper” or “oh this rapper is better than this one” like damn.

She named like 4 good rappers in that list. I do agree we need to promote female rappers more but let’s promote the rapping part more. This goes for guys and girls but the trap rap shit needs to stop. The same repetitive beats need to stop. The talk of money and drugs and sex or love is tiring. Too many people sound the same or are taking a sound from someone and everyone asks “why we not promoting so-and-so?” Rap has an inherent issues of too many people not being good. Guys and girls. Get past the bullshit and you’ll see that theres a plethora of women who are sending straight bars but get overshadowed by someone like Megan or pump or ski mask.

Yeah alright Rap Genius. I said what I said. Music is subjective and should be fun. It’s not that serious and shouldn’t have to be. Ain’t nothing wrong with Megan’s music or anybody’s music. If you don’t like a certain artists’ music, don’t listen to them.
