Hiyah Ben! I have a question i have been meaning to ask. I was wondering what your education is with Flash. Did you take a class or are you self taught with the program. -totally not asking due to failing at self-teaching self this devil program-

Heya Purpah,

The short answer?  Pretty much 90% of my Flash training was purely through self teaching.  I had gotten Flash over like… 15 years ago and it took about 2 or so of those before I was really comfortable in the program.  Though Flash being Flash, “Being comfortable” still involves violently shouting at Flash on a daily basis for being a bastard for no good reason.

I want to say I’ve answered this question in the past on this blog but I probably didn’t label it super well, but if you dig in there you might be able to find my earlier ramblings on the topic.

For as long as Flash has been around there just isn’t a ton of easily digestible  tutorials for the thing for animators.  At least none that I’m aware of.

I think the best thing I’ve ever seen tutorial wise is this video from OneyNG.

This is probably the most practical advice and tips for people starting fresh I’ve personally found.

Either way though, as I’ve said in the past, just stick with stupidly simple things until things start becoming second nature in Flash.  If you can start by making a bouncing ball and make it look decent, you are on the right track.
