Hi um- the last five years just made me cry and not the kind of cry where you’re really invested in the character and you feel their pain and emotion (even though that has obviously happened with this musical before). I was just kind of half heartedly singing the confrontation part of see I’m smiling and tears jusy started coming out???

i miss broadway so much. i miss the idea of thousands of tourists and locals flocking to the theater to take them away from the real life for two and a half hours. your musical theater kids seeing the show for the 7th time, trying so hard not to sing along in their mezzanine seats. the tourist who spent $225 on orchestra seats, only to hate the show. the aspiring broadway dreamers stage-dooring to get their playbills signed (such as myself).

there’s nothing quite like live theatre where anything can happen. there is nothing like being on stage with the lights burning down on you and your 3 pounds of makeup. there is nothing like hearing the audience laugh or gasp at something you don’t expect them to. the applause gives an actor life.

curtain call has always been my favorite part of the show. i see it as actors thanking the audience for seeing them perform. we are thankful, we are thankful we got to put on the same show we’ve been doing for months so it can be a new experience for you. that’s the magic of theater.
