Abusive men pave the way for lazy men to get wives and girlfirends.
Lemme clarify, how many times have you heard your overworked female friends and relatives say âYeah, Jerry drinks beer every evening after work while I cook dinner and clean up after everyone and does the bare minimum to help me raise the kids but heâs such a nice guy. Heâs never beat me in my life. I couldnât ask for a better guy in my life.â
Like no, Sally, your husband is a common stone among turds and you know it.
I try to explain this conceptually to people as a thing that happens not saying that this is good but itâs a thing that happens.
This is what male privilege is and how all men benefit from it.
This is why you are not exempt from statements about âall menâ even if you are overall good.
You benefit from the bar constantly being lowered by systemic issues within the gender.
The expectations on you are always lower than they should because âat least youâre not Xâ.
ThatâŠis the best response Iâve seen to the ânot all menâ thing. Thank you.
âa common stone among turdsâ is a beautiful phrase. thank you for it.
Girl is a cop
Iâm not defending her or anything but honestly, what do you expect? Sheâs a mainstream American politician. She might be better than most but if any politician at this point ran on a platform of not deporting anyone then theyâd instantly be seen as too radical and âidealisticâ by the media and the general public. I mean it took us a very long time before most people got on board with the idea that having a health care system similar to basically every other first world country wasnât too radical.Â
The context for this was that a 95-year old Nazi war-crime suspect who happened to live in the district for which she is running for Congress was finally deported (he was actually ordered to be deported 2004 but no country would accept him until now, when Germany finally agreed), and the GOP attacked her for it, and then when she clarified that yes, she still wants to abolish ICE but some deportation will be necessary, like the deportation of Nazis suspected of being war criminals, the left attacked her for that, because that makes her a cop.
Twitter made the Jewish lady that posted this delete it for âthreatening violence.â
Her followers spent the rest of the day tweeting this. Trolls couldnât keep up.
Coming from someone who studies the Holocaust and the history surrounding it, It is important to remember that Nazis were human, not monsters. Itâs important because if we dehumanize them we create a level of separation between us and them. Itâs important because if we create that level of removal, we start ignoring the subtle signs of antisemitism because âOh, well theyâre just a normal human, not a monster, iâm sure itâll be alright.â Itâs important because when we create that level of removal, they come back in waves. Itâs important because when you create that level of separation, you get the problems that we have now.
There is a very simple set of brain equations involved when we dehumanize the enemy, and it goes something like this:
âNazis are monstersâ âI would not be friends with a monsterâ The CORRECT conclusion is âI cannot be friends with Nazisâ BUT PEOPLE KEEP BELIEVING THE COROLLARY âNone of my friends are Nazisâ ââŠeven that one guy who keeps posting âironicâ Pepe memes, who never really grew out of his 4Chan /pol/ phase, and who keeps trying to have really intense conversations with me about âglobalistsâ. But heâs my friend! Iâve known him forever! He doesnât REALLY believe any of that stuff. Heâs just kind of an asshole, and we love him anyway.â This is a very bad corollary. It is an extraordinarily dangerous corollary. When we sincerely believe that we would not be friends with bad people, we ignore the signs that our friends are bad people.
(Friendly note: you can replace âNaziâ above with âsexual predatorâ or âracistâ or âabuserâ. Same hat, pretty much. There are very real reasons not to dehumanize the enemy, and they have nothing to do with the enemyâs right to humanity, and everything to do with the enemyâs ability to sneak past our lines wearing a nice-person mask.)
Iâm reblogging this to my main blog because it is extremely fucking important.

bro i wanna cuddle w a boy so bad rn
this is the only ship that matters
i was watching a video of cyntoia brown talking to a man investigating her case or whatever, and sheâs telling him about how Cutthroat, her pimp, forced her to do drugs, raped her several times, choked her until she passed out and then he asks her âhow come you didnt leave?â and sheâs like âyouâre not listening to what im telling you! he even knows where my mom lives.â
i just hate the constant victim blaming women go through. no one ever asks why that men was raping her and forcing her to sell her body. no one ever asks why a forty-something man purchased it. itâs always our fault for âstayingâ.
anyway, i hope she finds peace someday.
Today, she was granted clemency. 14 years in jail. 14 year she should have spent living her life and healing instead of being punished for saving herself.Â
