ONCE UPON A TIME, visiting Undella Town, he would have found himself in one of those villas occupied by the rich and famous. That was a long time ago, and whether or not he could have still done so now aside, he had no interest in staying in accommodation like that.
(Not to mention, with it being the season it was, the risk of running into someone he didn't want to see there wasn't zero.)
The bungalows or the hotel, perhaps... he would have to ask Blanc.
When was the last time he'd visited Undella Town anyway? Catching up to Svern, Blanc realizes that it felt like it'd been ages since he came by here. Never really had all that much reason to, besides just enjoying the fact it was a nice location.
Attending a beach event was also not very like him, but he knows how much Svern is more of a warm weather person too. Svern could've gone on his own to go forth and cause chaos, but it did tend to be fun when they actually attended these things together.
Or chaotic.
Or chaotic fun.
It was always interesting, that was for sure.
"I got our bags from the car," Blanc spoke to get Svern's attention. "So...where to now?"
Send “Examine!” and an item or person and I’ll write an RPG description of it/them.
topheavybrawler:
(For example, a stormtrooper mask:
“A white mask with a black visor on the front. Putting it on, you realise that the visor isn’t even transparent. How are you expected to do anything competently like this?”)
also happy pride to blanc ( @brokensnowflake ) for doing this barely 2 days into reo starting to play tomodachi life
im here for you
First Impressions sentence starters
“You’re not… how I thought you’d be.”
“Is this what you’re really like, or was that an act?”
“I need to know this is for real. If you’re not genuine, tell me right now.”
“You’re… good at that.”
“I didn’t realize you were - maybe we should start again. I’m [name].”
“So this is what the (in)famous [Name] is like behind closed doors.”
“You have a lot of experience with this.”
“Do you know what people say about you?”
“You’re just like they said.”
“Why don’t you correct them? When people talk about you, and they’re wrong?”
“I thought they were exaggerating about you.”
“I’ve wanted to meet you for a long time.”
“Am I safe with you?”
“Do you mean that?”
“I’m just trying to figure out why you’re here.”
“What made you get into this/that line of work?”
“Look, you’re either going to help, or you aren’t. Which one is it going to be?”
“You … you chose me.”
“I… no, nothing. I just didn’t realize you were brave.”
“You’re going to get yourself killed/fired, you know.”
“Have you always been like that?”
“That was kind.”
“That was good of you.”
“That was stupid.”
“You didn’t have to do that. But you did.”
“You were there. You didn’t have to be.”
“I think .. I have you to thank, for this.”
“I wouldn’t be here without you.”
“I wouldn’t have been there if it weren’t for you.”

🦌 Send Blanc a deer to get random Deerling and Sawsbuck facts
Okay, Blue he could at least understand, he'd been to events she'd been to before no less! But Leon? THE Leon? He almost drops his drink in surprise. When had he caught The Leon's attention?
Despite his shock, Blanc does manage to clear his throat. If a champion trainer wants to hear ramblings he's certainly happy to provide some.
"Unless crossbred with well combined traits with a Sawsbuck and Gogoat for example, most variants of Sawsbuck aren't rideable the same way a Rapidash or Mudsdale is. Though the average Sawsbuck when in a group can still pull a cart or sleigh without issue with their combined strength, but it's really the caribou based Sawsbuck that manage to do this task best. It takes half of the amount of pokemon to be able to do the same thing because they're just built sturdier."
"Caribou based Sawsbucks are also more rideable like Rapidash and Mudsdale though. They're actually great for trekking through forests in that regard, if you can work around the summer and autumn foliage in their antlers. But to use them more on paved roads you need to get plastic deer shoes for them, so they can get more of a tread on the road. Traditional deer shoes that are built more like regular horseshoes, have a habit of making them slip around too much on flat roads."

🦌 Send Blanc a deer to get random Deerling and Sawsbuck facts
Not a face he recognizes, but he doesn't really question it and starts rambling anyway.
"Providing they don't get into any fights that results in loss of antlers, the average Sawsbuck will lose their antlers from January to March naturally every year. Winter Sawsbuck antlers turn white in particular to signify their weakness before they fall and grow back in as brown and blooming with pink blossoms in the spring."
"My own Sawsbuck works a little differently there because of the fact that he doesn't shift forms... and actually his tend to fall off in October instead because he's a bit more of a caribou based one than average."
🦌 she's curious
🦌 Send Blanc a deer to get random Deerling and Sawsbuck facts
!
Well he hadn't expected to wake up to a message from the evolver herself, that was one way to make him more awake suddenly. At least he does think he knows something that could be of interest to her.
"Deerling and Sawsbuck come in all shapes and forms depending on where you live in the world, the most common examples appearing as white-tailed deer or Père David's deer. But the thing about Sawsbuck is compared to both, more often than not, both male and female Deerlings will evolve and gain a set of antlers that will shift with the season."
"It's curious because this fact makes every variant a bit more like specifically caribou in the way their antlers work, caribou have antlers regardless of if the deer is a doe or a buck typically. Rarely however female or intersex Deerlings upon evolution, will not grow antlers as Sawsbuck. Instead gaining a sort of 'mane' made up of leaves that blossoms from the top of their head and down to where their back starts."
"It acts the same way a normal Sawsbuck's antlers do, growing small pink blossoms in the spring, growing more prominent and in green leaves in the summer, turning into various colors of leaves in autumn. The case is honestly so rare though that researchers really don't know that much about it. It can be inherited but the odds of it making an appearance this way, are only slightly better than the random odds of it happening naturally. You might actually be more likely to catch a Sawsbuck being shiny than a Sawsbuck lacking its antlers."
"We're pretty lucky to even have a couple at the Season Research Lab at all that way."
"Hm... for fun I guess, send me a deer emoji if you want to hear Deerling and Sawsbuck ramblings."
"Though note I'm not really a professional, I'm a lab tech who grew up with a Deerling turned Sawsbuck with a medical condition. You can also ask me specific questions if you want, I'll do my best to answer them."
[for the sake of convenience: 🦌]
Blanc has mixed feelings about fossil pokemon revival. In isolated ways, in which trainers keep their fossil pokemon like a regular pokemon partner in some form, he has less of a complaint as long as the pokemon is cared for properly. But what concerns him is the idea of fossil pokemon being revived, and the revived pokemon's presence being a potential problem on any region's ecosystem.
He feels the system needs to be treated with care, which admittedly some researchers have not exactly inspired much confidence in that matter.
Blanc's own personal fossil that he received on his journey, was a Tirtouga fossil. It sits on display in the Nacrene City Museum, and he has no intention on changing that.
Again in isolated ways though, rare locations that have had fossil pokemon living comfortably (seemingly having missed the extinction memo), he takes less issue with. They've made their own little home already, so long as it's not too disruptive elsewhere he's okay with this concept.
@darkestrellar : you were shorter then. (ss)
It'd been a bit since he actually looked at his collection of badges. The initial eight he'd collected on his journey through Unova as a teenager, and curiously, an extra Basic Badge and Legend Badge alongside the Toxic and Wave Badges. He'd been a recognized former Unova Champion when he'd claimed them, what was the point of having them?
Mostly just for fun.
Battling wasn't something that Blanc did all the time, he didn't live and breathe that sort of lifestyle like people say about the infamous Red. But he did enjoy it on occasion, and so did his team. His return to Unova had been in part, a fun run through familiar territory in this regard.
But it's been years since then, and either through age or just having sat in a trainer bag for too long; his badges are showing their wear and tear. He remembered spending downtime when he stopped to camp, polishing them when they were still sparkling new. With nothing to do in the moment, he decided to try and do so again carefully.
Though he didn't expect an audience for it, as he carefully removed the Trio Badge from its spot. Blinking in surprise as he looked in Svern's direction, before pausing with thought.
"...Yeah, I was." He replied softly, "honestly it surprised me one day to realize that I wasn't looking at you completely on level, that I had actually gotten taller at some point."
"...Knowing me, I probably hadn't fully noticed that happening for awhile either. Given the situation I doubt that's surprising though."
He turned back to his badge, moving cloth carefully over the aged metal to bring out the shine again. Though he pauses again as curiosity dawns on him.
"Think you'd ever do the challenge again? Not here I'm sure but... somewhere else?"
I heart prey animal rage I love when characters are fucking insane with terror

Don't think about it.
Don't think about it.
Don't think about it don't think about it don't think about it don'tthinkaboutitdon'tthinkaboutit
A phrase that echoes throughout his mind the second he's forced to grip his fire axe.
It's not real.
This isn't real.
But it sure feels that way, the way blood has been spilled onto his clothes and hands. His navy blue and white jacket is unsurprisingly particularly stained a deep red, and he pointedly avoids looking at his own hands for the time being. It all may not be real, but it was also more real than any movie prop, and staring down at his own hands is too much right now.
What else was he supposed to do, if the place that is his home turns on him? Moving would probably be the more logical solution, and if he was being honest... he can't say he didn't consider it.
But White Forest just doesn't feel like it's something he can simply run from, and for all his anxiety....he has developed strength for this task. Whenever something changes in the woods, whenever it gets hostile, whenever he sees a memory play that insists these fake humans have killed others and seek to do the same to Blanc; his survival instinct kicks in with a vengeance.
But while in the moment he finds himself void of thought, the aftermath is always a heavy walk back to his house. Overthinking his own capacity to do harm, about how he is getting used to this. About how glad he is that so far, no one's found out.
Though, nobody anticipates stray cats breaking into their homes, do they?
He walks as though he's in a daze when he first gets into his house again. It's honestly not much safer inside than it is outside, but he strangely does find some peace in it regardless as he breathes a heavy sigh into the low light coming in from the outside.
But his heightened awareness of his surroundings makes him suddenly alert again. He doesn't catch his gaze automatically, lifting his head slowly from its tired position to stare ahead as his eyes adjusted to the darkness.
But when he spots him standing there he knows, he'd recognize him anywhere. Someone he hadn't wanted to ever have witnessing him like this, though also one of the only people he'd ever entertained the idea of telling the truth to.
"Svern!" He falls back against the door, eyes wide like a deer in the headlights.
"I..." He tries to run through his mind for what to say, but quickly comes up empty as he allows the fire axe to clatter to the floor. "This... isn't what it looks like."
Not that the truth is really all that much better.
It's not real. Don't think about it. It's not real. Don't think about it.

do you remember what i told you last time?
have you been doing well since i saw you?
that's not what you told me back then.
when was the last time i saw you?
you were shorter then.
i'm picking the restaurant this time.
we've known each other since we were children.
always knew i could count on you.
that time was different. this is worse.
you're not going to let me live that down, are you?
i seem to remember a conversation we had back then.
so you changed your mind about it?
do you remember our encounter in paris?
you should know me by now.
am i the only one that knows the truth?
we had a lot of help back then.
your mom told me to look out for you.
you just love bringing that back up to annoy me.
maybe don't mention my past indescretions?
this was never going to work out between us.
i told you not to get attached.
i know more about you than you think.
i was there, remember?
i'm not about to forget all the shit you put me through.
you told me you were going to try and make this work.
remember what i said to you?
the last time i saw you, things were good between us.
you never mentioned this before.
that was the longest flight of my life, and you made it worse.
can i still trust you after all that?
at least we tried to make something work.
we never discussed what happened between us.
okay, but i'm driving the car this time.
i haven't forgotten what you said last week.
i'm still thinking about your comment.
i didn't realize it was you when i first saw you.
you seem to make a lot of enemies around here.
there's not much for us to talk about.
we worked it out last time.
i know you far better than you know yourself.
we have a long history.
is that the shirt you were wearing last time?
what don't i know about you?
i haven't told them about us.
you were the only person i could go to.
you know me.
this is bigger than both of us.
i can't stand your driving.
are you taking me to the place we had dinner last time?
that's not at all what you said.
didn't we agree on that?
i thought i made it very clear where i stand.
are these the same people that came after you last time?
are you still going on about it?
can we talk about it?
staying silent about it won't help.
you're the only person who knows the real me.
this is a bad time to talk about your problems.
nonverbal meme prompts ↪ they seem few & far between, so i tried to come up with as many scenarios as i could think of where dialogue wasn’t a necessary starting point. some are more uh specific than others / drabble-y, but they’re all dialogue-free ( tho ofc this does not necessarily extend to the response itself ). to reverse who sends what, send ‘ [ prompt ]+ ’ ! alter any as you see fit, & lemme know if anything’s unclear ♡

21 December ✶ @twilighttheater (Blanc)
It was the winter solstice, the shortest day and longest night of the year, and also Blanc's birthday. Too early for Christmas gifts, but just the right time for a different kind of gift. This year, they weren't at home; they were attending the Village Bridge Festival. Svern had spent most of the time either running around as he pleased, or eschewing his designated holiday accommodation and camped in Blanc's cabin instead.
That was where Svern was now, early in the morning, before Blanc had to get up and out there and be busy with the Sawsbuck carriages. So early in the morning that Blanc himself wasn't out of bed just yet.
Silent as ever, he entered Blanc's room around the time when he estimated Blanc would be waking up, a small, flat item held in one hand. He perched himself on the end of the bed, waiting for the moment when Blanc would stir awake; and when he did awaken, there would be Svern, smiling, just a shadow at the end of the bed in the low light of the room.
"Good morning, Blanc. Happy birthday."
He would give Blanc a moment to orient himself as much as he could (having just woken up, after all), and then he would pass the gift over to Blanc. It was plainly wrapped in glossy white paper, a simple flat wooden box hidden underneath the wrapping paper, and nestled in tissue paper inside the box — were two hairclips, adorned with white and silver crystals. The shapes the crystals were set in didn't have strict motifs, but both vaguely evoked natural imagery. One in particular resembled a flower.
Blanc hadn't really planned anything in particular for his birthday, besides likely doing the job that he'd signed up for. Though ideally... he had thought before falling asleep the night before, that it would be nice to do something more fun for the day with Svern; if he wanted to. Things were still a bit off feeling since he'd reunited with him, the fact Svern felt the need to disappear still stuck with him. But he did want to think positively, maybe things would be alright for them from here.
He gets this sense of someone being in the room before he's completely awake, Svern doesn't end up waiting long as Blanc's eyes steadily open and adjust to the early morning light filling the room...with his gaze landing on the shadow at the end of his bed. One he's come to recognize well, though the calm familiarity was mixed with vague confusion. Honestly entirely for the fact that the tone here was so soft feeling. He couldn't help feeling reminded of when Svern decided to comb his hair out of nowhere one day, this felt somehow on a similar level to that. The tone of silliness that Svern also enjoyed doing was seemingly absent right now, not a bad thing; just a curious thing.
Blanc had no idea how right he'd be about the soft tone though, as he yawns and rubs his eyes, he listens. Green eyes go a bit wider in surprise with what he hears, not like he felt like it'd been forgotten; Svern's memory was better than anyone else he'd ever known of course he wouldn't. But he'd only just met up with Svern again after him being distant for a month-- honestly he would've just been happy to maybe spend the day with him. He didn't have to do anything. When had he, even?
He's as surprised as he is curious, as Svern passes the package over to him. "...Good morning, did...you get up early just to catch me before I had to go?"
He didn't have to. That statement keeps lingering in his mind, but he carefully unwraps the glossy wrapping to get to the wooden box. He's surprised once again by the hairclips. He never thought anyone had really noticed, he did have a habit of trying to tuck his hair back sometimes-- either something he did idly, or to keep the fluffier locks out of his face for awhile. Seems someone had noticed, and of course it was Svern.
Something about this makes him ever so slightly emotional, but largely he's smiling through the sleepy morning haze as he looks at Svern again. "I almost wanted to use them right away, and my hair's a total mess right now." He laughs softly, before he continues.
"Thank you, they're beautiful hairclips. I'm...not even sure I really knew I could use them until now, so used to force of habit. I appreciate it, very much."
