The person I reblogged this from is super cute and deserves to have a nice day
i’m seeing a lot of people reblogging suicide hotlines and this is just a reminder that this is a suicide help line that works like a text-based instant messenger for people who may need to talk to someone but have trouble/are uncomfortable making phone calls
Never don’t reblog this. There are so many people who have such bad anxiety about phone calls. This can save so many lives
dash is dead! reblog if you’re two or more..
-you’re 16+
-over 130 lbs
-active!!
-thinspo!
-lgbtq+ friendly!
-suffering from a mental illness
if you’re an active ed blog in july 2021 rb this so i can have mutuals <3
edit: people are starting to rb this so for me personally if you’re a minor i won’t be following you and please don’t follow me! thank you <3
Repeat after me:
eating disorders are defined by a persons disordered thoughts and eating habits, not their weight or appearance
Me: Eats like a normal person for a week.
Me: This is detrimental why do I keep binging, I’m faking my eating disorder.
eating is just "ooo yummy this is fun" and then "oh wait i hate myself"
Today I learned that one third - ONE THIRD - of women with type 1 diabetes report insulin restriction to lose weight. A powerful quote from Kathlin Gordon in "The Type 1 Diabetes Self-Care Manual":
"The ignorance of the public, my friends, and some of my family was frustrating and hurtful. I felt like I was being blamed. Oh, the stigma of having diabetes, 'the fat people's disease.' The comments still ring in my head to this day: 'You don't look like a diabetic,' I would hear. 'If you just ate the right things; exercise it away,' they would say."
So painful to read. Because it's one of the truest statements I've ever seen.
Diabulimia is what it’s called when diabetics restrict insulin in order to lose weight. It’s extremely bad for your body and can have dire consequences for an already chronically ill person. Diabulimia is rarely talked about even in ED circles but is much more common than you think and just as deadly as any eating disorder
