Two or more heirs fighting backhanded ways to get the king’s favor and political backing from nobles. Poison, blackmail, promises, betrayal, political marriages what not

Bastard heir that was hidden away that is popular with commoners but struggles politically. Some might try using them as a marionette, needing to nit just fight for a throne they maybe not want but also their life. One does not simply leave the game alive.

Servants as spies of different factions

Rebellion. Nibles with a conscience working with commoners OR manipulating them

Some (fantasy) church also messing with it all, different people trying to get their blessing

I’ll be honest again. While Bryce can switch, it’s often much easier to get him into a submissive headspace.

Pushing him against a wall, against any surface really. But even wrapping one’s arms around him from behind. Feeling protected, secure, accepted with all his needs... and brattiness. Because he doesn’t roll over easily. He is a proud man, that might like to be put on his knees, but when someone isn’t able to flick the switch in his head... he just... leaves. 

He also loves “punishment”. He carries a lot of guilt, so much it is overwhelming, so sometimes having someone he is safe with, he can create small “reasons” to be punished for small forgivable and planned things. Spanking, Orgasm denial, making him beg, BUT as important, allowing him to do something to “apologize” to become “good” again. Praising him once more, kissing him and being gentle. That can and should still be part of the play. Aftercare, especially in such cases, needs to be emotional too though. Telling him they weren’t actually upset, that it was clear he was just bratty for the reason of it again. Telling him he is good, and loved even with mistakes etc. (Unless one wants to manipulate him and make him dependent, which is EASY, he barely understands how to be treated with respect, so driving him into trying to endlessly prove himself and love bombing him works very well. inside and outside of bed)

Though, of course, he demands open communication, and he will tell partners he truly trusts those kinks and desires, talk about safe-words etc.

(As always, he makes a good dom too, buuuuut..... getting him into that headspace can be more challenging.... idek )

TREPIDATION narrows his eyes, but its all the hostility he presents as bryce takes it upon himself to straighten up the jacket sitting awkwardly ‘round dox’s shoulders ; NORMALLY a hand might lift & SWAT ASIDE those who dare to get too CLOSE, too FAMILIAR, but---in the present moment, he’s too EXHAUSTED to give more than a PASSING FUCK---if bryce wants to get close to the fire, it’ll be on HIM to take caution against a BURN.

MONOTONE be the inflection by which words are whispered between them, dox uncertain if the situation is too DELICATE to hold VERBAL ACKNOWLEDGEMENT---

Bryce removed his hands as soon as he reestablished symmetry in Dox’s outfit.  It was easier to focus on lopsided details that were even remotely fixable than thinking about how chaotic everything else was.

      “I bet.... it’s OVER two!” Bryce replied with a wide grin, stepping back, not out of fear but respect. His grin melted into a more neutral but friendly expression, shaking his head slowly.        “To be honest, I don’t. But your entire personality is knives, so the physical amount must be great too... I simply learned that looking like you have everything together makes people actually believe it...”

 He could have cried about all the money he had spent on fancy designer suits just to make people not realize that his life was a utter mess... and that it had worked, until becoming entirely worthless.

Verse dependent.

In his canon universe, he is religious, in fantasy verses he at least seems spiritual.

In modern and sci-fi verses, not really. He grew up in a Christian culture, so he celebrates Christmas, but not in a religious way, and more of a cultural, nostalgic thing. He doesn’t really believe in astrology or tarot, but he is also open-minded enough to be proven otherwise. He won’t accept someone saying his entire personality and life struggles come from stars etc, but might see some truth in some warnings etc.

General superstition he’ll roll his eyes at. Aka black cats bringing bad luck etc.
