What do I taste like? Tommy doesn’t ask.

Instead he watches as the tentacle twines itself around his wrist, down his arm. The suckers shift minutely as it does, moving across his skin with muted popping noises. He moves his arm a little bit, just to… just to test it. To feel the strength of it. Evan’s tentacle resists the pull for a split second, before loosening with another series of pops. Tommy shivers. It would be so, so easy for Evan to keep him in place. To make him be still.

Tommy clears his throat.

“Neat.”

“Thanks,” Evan says.

His voice is light but, when Tommy looks at Evan's face, his eyes are dark.

Summary:

Buck can feel the attention and interest of the couple that settles at a high table not far away before he fully turns towards them. They're gorgeous, really: the woman is a little older, her long, copper hair done in an elegant braid that falls over the low neckline of her blue, flowy dress. The guy is some years younger than her, his body tall, wide shoulders and sharp cheekbones. The flicker of interest is like the softest caress, but it's shut down as quickly as it appeared, leaving the faintest of traces at the back of Buck's throat.

Started to think how that would look like when mates are connected and all outside hurdle and own thoughts calm when you’re around your mate. Tried to draw somekind of ”bubble” around them. Also I really wanted Tommy to look like in real agony and little hesitant to calm down. He just wants one thing and it is Buck to be saved 😭 but the irritation feeling if he and the pack wouldn’t come sooner . . .

There was no reason to be nervous. He and Tommy had been together for nearly a year, now. There was nothing Buck hadn’t seen from him.

Well. That was kind of a lie.

See, Tommy was special. Not just because he was the one who made Buck realize his attraction to men, not just because he was the person Buck wanted to spend the rest of his life with.

Finally got another thing done! I won't finish all of my WIPs for @btmonsterfuckermonday before the season's finished - considering it finishes tonight - but hey, maybe I'll get them out by Monday. Or not, we'll see.

But I finished this one! Finally. This also went through three different versions before I was finally happy with it.

As Buck pulled up to Harbor station, he felt his nerves make his fingers shake, and he clenched them harder around the steering wheel to make them stop.

There was no reason to be nervous. He and Tommy had been together for nearly a year, now. There was nothing Buck hadn’t seen from him.

Well. That was kind of a lie.

See, Tommy was special. Not just because he was the one who made Buck realize his attraction to men, not just because he was the person Buck wanted to spend the rest of his life with.

Around ten percent of the population of the US was some sort of magical creature. There were nymphs and centaurs and merpeople and harpies, and so many, many more. But amongst them were those that were rare, and their presence was coveted. They tended to keep to themselves, and they hid amongst humans. They only revealed themselves when they felt safe and when they could trust someone.

Tommy was one of them. Buck hadn’t known before. To be fair, no-one had known, except for others of Tommy’s kind. And while there weren’t that many of them, during specific times, they would turn up, and skulk their way around Tommy’s workplace and home. Buck hadn’t understood the first time they’d dated, or when they started dating again, but now he knew.

He was a dragon. Tommy. A rare and ancient thing, those creatures. In medieval times, they used to be hunted for their scales and wings and blood and organs, since people believed they granted magical abilities to humans, were the secret to immortality, or other things that weren’t true. As such, dragons used powerful magic to hide their true visage, and only showed them to those they were close with.

That was something that Tommy had never done. Until now. A couple of months ago, he’d told Buck the truth, revealing the true form he took when he shifted into a human body. Dragons were mages, and shapeshifters, after all, and long, long ago, they would shift into human-like form to communicate with humans. Back when things had been better for them.

Buck was- well, he was a little obsessed with how Tommy’s actual human form would look like. He knew what other dragons looked like – they had slightly pointed ears. Many of them had horns curling out of their hair, sometimes more than two. Scales along the lower arms and the backs of the hands, as well as from the knee down. Digitigrade legs, ending in claws. Scales down the spine, a fucking tail, and wings sprouting from their back. Some of them had feathers, some of them looked like they were covered in gemstones. Buck didn’t know what color Tommy was. The only thing he knew about were his wings because Tommy had told him. They were torn, frayed, so broken they would never carry his weight again.

It was the reason other dragons came around when it was mating season – mating season! – and tried to court Tommy. Buck immediately hated those strangers, but that only became worse when Tommy explained. His wings had been torn apart in fights. It was dragon culture for two partners to stay together forever. But if something went wrong, they would signify their wish to leave by flying high up into the air and staying there, flying further whenever their partner tried to reach them.

“They want me,” Tommy had told Buck with a grim face, “because I can’t leave.”

Leaning his head down, Evan gently grazed his tongue against the pooling blood seeping out of the wound on Tommy’s throat. Soft licks and kisses eased the dull buzzing pain. Tommy leaned into the touch, quietly moaning, arching his head back, allowing him to get more. Tommy ached for more, not just of Evan, or for the sensation of being feasted upon, but Tommy ached for knowledge, to know how he became this way.

"Evan?"

He hummed against Tommy's flesh.
