Buck and Tommy recognize each other after meeting at a firefighter event in S1
Buck who thinks he’s fully straight and a sex addict and tell Tommy that the bond is platonic
Tommy who came out barely a year ago and accepts it, he knows his past and he’s not sure he really deserve a soulmate anyway and also he’s so new at being out that a full on soulbond scares the shit out of him anyway
Still, they see eachother often
They’re soulmates

But they spend a lot of time together
Even when Buck dates others
And Tommy just watches
His feeling has grown for Buck but he accepts that Buck is straight and that it won’t lead to anything
He does try to date but it doesn’t work
Not when his mind keep going back to Buck
But it’s not healthy
He can’t keep going like that
And so he quit the LAFD and disappear from Los Angeles, leaving just a letter for Buck
Buck started to realize that maybe it wasn’t that platonic after catching Tommy on a date and feeling so jealous about it

But when he comes to Tommy’s, using the key Tommy gave him after they bonded and became closer years ago now, to finally talk to Tommy and maybe revisit the platonic side of their bond, the house is empty
Except for a letter on the dining room table with his name on it
Different meeting au where Tommy needs somebody to housesit for him while he’s out of town because [insert reason here] and Buck needs a place to stay and their mutual friend Chimney sets up the arrangement
Tommy has to leave before he can meet Buck, but he texts him and tells him where the spare key is and he’s left him a list of instructions on the kitchen counter and some leftovers in the fridge
Tommy’s gone for a couple weeks, but they text every day (maybe eventually speak on the phone/facetime?) — Buck sends him updates and photos of Tommy’s plants to ensure they’re thriving and Tommy’s multiple fish tanks to show all the flora are thriving their too and that the fish haven’t gone belly up (Tommy will never admit how much he laughed the first time Evan made the joke)
Somewhere along the way, they keep up their text conversations even after the routine assurances that Buck is making himself at home and that everything and everybody is still alive and that the house is still standing
Buck starts telling Tommy about his day and vice-versa.
Tommy opens up about his reasons for being out of town [death in the family maybe?]
And they both quickly become the highlight of each other’s day
One night—late night, early morning really but neither of them have gone to sleep yet—Buck says something about staying in Tommy’s house despite never having met him; that he doesn’t even know what Tommy looks like
Within minutes, Buck gets a reply in the form of a selfie of Tommy—tucked in bed, hair rumpled and soft looking (Buck is taken aback by how much he aches with wanting to run his fingers through it), eyes so so blue, and a soft smile on his face.
Buck doesn’t overthink, he takes a similar selfie. As he’s getting ready to take press the shutter button, another message comes in: hi :)
The smile (and the blush he can’t ignore) in Buck’s selfie is genuine
He follows it up with a hi 🙂

Basically what happens is they fall in love over texts and phone calls and probably some sexts and Buck stays for awhile after Tommy returns while he looks for a new place but then he actually stays forever

The new EHRC Code of Practice pushes trans people out of toilets, hospital wards, and community spaces. It normalises gender policing based on appearance and stereotypes. It becomes statutory guidance in the UK by the end of June.
Trans people are now legally their assigned gender at birth and must join gendered spaces accordingly, but if they are perceived as their lived gender, they can also be ejected from those spaces. The guidance says: either break the law, or don’t pass too well.
A mass lobby is where you invite your MP to discuss your concerns with you in-person. Ask your MP to:
Demand full parliamentary scrutiny, debate, and use their free vote on the EHRC Code of Practice.
Support any motions rejecting the EHRC guidance. As of June 4th, Labour MP Nadia Whittome has submitted a prayer motion - Early Day Motion 240.
Write to Bridget Phillipson, the Minister for Women and Equalities about our concerns
Your MP does not have to be an ally, they do not have to respond to your email for you to show up and greencard them (details below the cut.) What matters is that as many people as possible show up.
I cannot stress this enough: Showing up in person matters. It is much more effective than petitions, emails, and letters.
It is a horrible, stressful time, and I am so sorry if you're trans and live in the UK. But I was at last year's mass lobby and the line for greencarding alone stretched around the back gates. It was a record breaking mass lobby and made us impossible to ignore. Let's do even better this time. Details under the cut:

Bring your personal worries about transphobia being signed into law, and trans friends being excluded from public spaces. You are a living person who deserves dignity. Remind your MP of that. You will also get guidance and brochures from Trans Solidarity Alliance that outlines our demands. This is mine from last year.

Got a refusal or no response from your MP?
Come anyway! You can request a same-day appointment with your MP through a process called greencarding. They will come and see you if they’re already in Parliament. Even if they don’t, they’re made acutely aware of your cause because you showed up in person. This is my greencard from last year.
Here is the EHRC Code of Practice in full. It's a tough read, but some highlights are:
Organisations can’t provide trans-inclusive, single-sex services, or they risk being sued for discrimination.
e.g. domestic violence support for women including trans women, men’s rugby group including trans men (12.68).
Trans people will have nowhere safe to pee.
If you’re a trans man, businesses can't allow you to pee in the men's, and you can also be ejected from women’s bathrooms if you’re perceived as a man. Vice versa for trans women. EHRC suggests a ‘third space’ bathroom, which is discriminatory and unworkable for most businesses. (13.130-133)
Sports organisations must exclude trans people from single-sex competitions (13.73).
A women’s only sports competition must exclude trans women because of their biological advantage or face potential lawsuits (13.74), but a trans man who has undergone testosterone treatment can also be excluded based on fairness rules (13.81).
Trans women are stripped of the legal definition of ‘lesbian’, and therefore no longer have legal protections if they’re discriminated against on the basis of sexual orientation. (2.50, 2.92).

It takes a lot to surprise Evan Buckley, especially after everything he's seen and done in his 34 years. Hell, the last 10 years alone could be its own novel, and don't even get him started on the last 4.
The fact that he's currently sitting tucked away in a dimly lit booth at a dingy bar with the ex he never quite got over...well, he can safely say it's up there. The fact that it's been well over a year since they last spoke and Tommy agreed to meet without any hesitation definitely took things up a notch.
Tommy suddenly leans in closer, struggling to be heard over the noise. "l'm glad I came out tonight. I've never been here before."
"Yeah, I love you."
And Buck freezes, because there is no way he just said that.

That's what he had intended, and he's absolutely certain that's what came out of his mouth. Except the shocked and confused look on Tommy's face is currently telling a different story.

He's halfway out of the booth before Tommy catches his wrist.
"Evan, wait. Please sit down."
And he does, so willingly that it's almost embarrassing.
"If that was an accident, if you didn't mean it, or even if you just meant it platonically, tell me. Tell me, and we'll pretend it never happened. I'll move on and we can continue just being friends. But if you meant it…I need to know."

Some of yall may have heard some of the shit that has been going on right now. I'm gonna give a quick run down of some of the stuff that has been happening. Note, this is not all, and it may never be all as much as I will try to update this.
(I am going to try and compile and briefly explain these as much as I can. There may be misinformation. Please inform me if I got something wrong.)

1) Racist Chinese Dolls.
There are these dolls in China that are being called "Natasha" baby dolls. These dolls are not only very obvious caricatures of black people, but they are being advertised as a "stress relief" in which the people who buy these abuse it in various ways.

2) The Mocking, Abuse, and Dehumanization of Black Children.
Apart from the aforementioned doll, there are apparently people going around mocking, abusing, and dehumanizing black children.
Some people have compared black children to the doll.
Others have been going into African countries and have found ways to mock, abuse, and dehumanize black children for clout.

3) Black people are going missing.
Black people, especially children and teens have recently been going missing at an alarming rate. Some of these same people are turning up dead, deaths being ruled as "suicides."
While it generally unknown why many of these people are going missing, many suspect that their disappearances, deaths, and even lack of coverage is rooted in anti-blackness.
The following is a list of black people that have been reported missing as of recently. Please note that this is not a complete list (it may never be completed due to the fact that many of these disappearances will still occur as time passes) this may contain inaccurate information. Please inform me if that is the case.

if you've made replies on posts there is now a tab on your blog showing every post youve replied to and your reply.
if this is not what you want, either go to your blog and click comments and disable it from there or just go to your individual blogs setting pages. just change it from blue to grey if you dont want everyone to see your replies AND the post you're replying to
PLEASE BE ADVISED that it is set to disabled for blogs that have not made any replies but it will turn ON if you reply with that blog in the future.! i just tested it with my main, which was greyed out but it turned on the moment i left a test reply

so for some reason this feature was actually announced on the tumblr engineering blog. interesting choice not to reblog it to the staff or tumblr blog, esp considering they asked for user input on how to implement it, but i suppose considering the response to the last update maybe the replies would be too overwhelming...
so couple of clarifications. comments are disabled as default for primary blogs that have their likes disabled. they are seemingly enabled for all other blogs that have replied to posts
posts you comment on may show on your followers 'for you' page if you leave your replies publically available. they may, in the future, show in on your followers dashboard if your follower goes to their dash settings and enables this. apparently, if your likes are enabled, your followers can already see those on the dash if they've gone into preferences and selected to do so, which I was unaware of, and that seems to be disabled at default, but it's possible i disabled it previously and forgot about it ig
Happy Pride Month everyone! Remember 4 months ago when the CEO of this platform harassed and chased a trans woman off this website just for posting her transition timeline, then chased her to other social media platforms to continue harassing her, and threatened to call the FBI if she continued disputing the multiple dubious terminations of her blogs that did not violate tumblr's terms of service in any way? And despite tumblr staff insisting that the CEO was acting against their interests, the broad transmisogyny evident in the site's culture and moderation policy has still not been adequately addressed?
Remember that staff is continuing to nuke the blogs of trans women even after all of this. Remember this post when they call this site the queerest place on the internet again this month
