Iâve made a post about this before and Iâm making another one.
The majority of the vixenamoric tag is people being against it, and people completely misunderstanding what it means.
Vixenamoric is a term created for gay womenâcis and transâwho are only attracted to binary women. We felt that âlesbianâ was watered down too much (see; âlesbian meaning non men attracted to non men/nb lesbians/he him lesbians/bisexual lesbians/etc) and didnât describe us anymore.
We tried fighting to keep the label meaning gay woman attracted to women. It didnât work. So we said âyou know what, fine. Weâll make a new termâ.
Gay women felt that we were pushed out of the lesbian label because of the obsession everyone has with being âinclusiveâ.
I just find it so upsetting that we canât seem to win. We stay with the lesbian label, it doesnât fit us because of yâall. We try to keep it to mean woman exclusively attracted to women, you tell us weâre [X]phobic. You go out of your way to tell us you donât like us. So we move on and find a new term and you still go out of your way to tell us you donât like us.
Letâs clear a few things up.
1.) Itâs not transphobic to not be attracted to nonbinary people. Some people want a binary partner because they arenât attracted to the idea of having a genderless partner. Thatâs not transphobic, youâre watering down what it means to be transphobic.
2.) vixenamoric includes trans women and isnât about not being attracted to trans women. Still, some vixens might not be super open to dating trans women for whatever reason and thatâs okay (people are allowed to be as âpickyâ as they want when it comes to dating and itâs none of your business). Itâs not transphobic as long as the person is still a trans ally and supports trans women and men. Also, there might be trans women who themselves wouldnât date another trans person for whatever reason. Either way, vixenamorics can date trans women. The label doesnât mean trans exclusionary.
3.) itâs not terfy. For it to be terfy it would need to be trans exclusionary radical feminism. Itâs not trans exclusionary as explained above, and itâs not radical feminism. Itâs literally just gay women not feeling comfortable using lesbian to describe ourselves when itâs been so watered down.
4.) saying that many vixenamorics are transmeds says nothing. transmed literally just means that you believe some degree of gender dysphoria is needed to be trans, and that you believe being trans should stay medicalized. Why should it stay medicalized? Because taking hormones and getting surgery is no light matter. And if it is demedicalized, those hormones are going to become financially inaccessible and those surgeries are going to become âcosmeticâ. I think we can all agree that trans people wanting surgery is not cosmetic. Itâs to better the quality of life. So thatâs what youâre saying when you try to use âtransmedâ as a way to devalue a label. Transmed isnât a big bad boogeyman wordâit just means wanting trans people to have proper accessible healthcare.
So stop hating vixenamorics. Itâs very clear that you just hate gay women who say ânoâ to certain things. Whatâs it to you if we use a new label? You took ours and watered it down, so we handed it over to you and moved on. You should be looking at that as a win. You kicked the actual lesbians out of our own damn label, congratulations.
Stop posting your homophobic bullshit in the vixenamoric tags. Stop saying you support lgbt people when what you really mean is that you support lgbt people who agree with you and do what you say.
