ok rethinking this a little bit -
- this would have to be a wlw story, I'm a lesbian and I do NOT understand straight relationships and also cannot see Yae as anything but lesbian, so... yeah.
- Reader would sort of be Lumine, but not really. My thought process is that the reader needs a reason to become homeless at the beginning of the story, so maybe she's living with her twin brother who goes missing or is injured or something, and she has no way to afford the apartment she's in and gets kicked out. I wouldn't include physical descriptions of the reader so that one could imagine themself as the reader, nor would I include the name "Lumine" as the reader. If I end up doing artwork of this au, i might simply draw the reader as Lumine.
- Ei and Makoto are both Mikage. Ei is lost in her plane of Euthymia (gone into hiding like how Mikage is) and Makoto died but appears as a kind sort of avatar (like Mikage and the butterfly). Ei is the one who gives the mark to reader.
- The Grand Narukami Shrine is inhabited by Lady Narukami, not by Ei and Makoto. They reside at a smaller, less powerful shrine (keep the theme from Kamisama Kiss of a smaller shrine with few worshipers) where the Sacred Sakura is planted, called Kazari Saiguu Shrine (Saiguu being the kitsune goddess who was a close friend of Ei and Makoto, and Kazari being the name of the manifestation of the rest of her memory in the cleansing ritual world quest). This also makes more sense as Kitsune Saiguu had both Earth and Sky kitsune as her emissaries, so the whole "land god" thing fits much better than having the reader become the goddess of lightning and war.
- Kujou Sara and the Raiden Shogun will probably appear as Jiro in another sort of joint way, with Sara acting mainly as Jiro while the Shogun can be a tool for her to gain power over the others on the mountain.
- Scaramouche should be Kurama since he's kind of emo and there was that whole lore piece about Ei abandoning him in favor of the Shogun because he cried in his sleep
- I guess in a way, this also makes Ei the lord of the Tengu... but that's okay
- Nahida would probably work as Suirou as well as Botanmaru and as a goddess for the divine assembly arc, as she would have helped Scaramouche become well rounded but also encourage him to leave and pursue happiness and she's a sort of motherly figure to him, while also carrying the childlike traits needed for Botanmaru, and since she's an archon, she should be invited to the divine assembly but she's not powerful enough to stop the Shogun puppet
- Onikiri should be Paimon, and Kotetsu should be the little seelie that you can have as a gadget but like, personified, because they are both little cute floating guys
- Princess Himemiko could be Kokomi, but I'm not sure who the human of her affections would be
- other gods are simply the archons and other powerful figures, so Zhongli, Nahida, Furina and Focalors (will get their own focused arc), Mavuika, Columbina, Hexenzirkel, Pierrot, Tsaritsa, Heavenly Principles (will figure out hierarchy later)
- Yoimiya and Ayaka as Kae and Ami
- still unsure about kazuha as Mizuki. Remains to be seen.
