Inazuma
@billowingbabes Enough that everyone wants to feed her. It's how she started belching so hard she got her domain of Thunder
"I do suppose that this was destined to happen, what with being the public face of Inazuma and all..."
Sasayuri and Kitsune Saiguu both are heavily amused at Makoto's inability to close her kimono over her front...
Everybody loves Raiden Makoto.
And I do mean everyone.
what if we were twin sisters in a hoyoverse game and i sacrificed myself for you so that you could properly ascend to godhood and then your first act as a god was to reform my body and bring me back to life and also at some point you died and i had to take up the burden of godhood in your stead but we got to have a final goodbye centuries later in a space outside of time. and we were both purple.
The OG hydro archon, the archon of justice, Egeria being the the only OG archon who served time in prison is so funny to me. The fact that she was imprisoned itself is bad. But the fact that she was in jail is never not going to be funny to me. Aaah, I love the irony of the archons and their ideals. And its not even just Egeria. For example the god of war, are gods who wants no war, gods that fights for peace.
Or Makoto. When you think god of eternity, you would think of someone who wants an unchanging world, "everything the same forever", stasis (like Ei). But actually Makoto is more "the only eternal thing is change", "let's enjoy these ephemeral moments we spend together", and "as long as you remember me, I am eternal" kind of person.
Also Zhongli. When you think of the god of contract with geo element, you would think of someone rigid, no nonsense, obey word to word kind of guy, but the vibe I get from him is that he's actually more sly. Although yes, he follows all of his contract, he also makes and found loopholes, takes advantage of multiple interpretation, and generally wiggles in the grey area. I don't know if it's something he gained before or after he became an old man...
Also Rukkhadevata (and Nahida). When you think of the god of wisdom, you think of someone all-knowing, "I know everything so I'm never wrong", "I'm very accomplished so I'm at the top" kind of person. To me, the vibe they give are more of "I'm knowledgeable, I know a lot, that does not make me wise, wisdom is a dream I found behind the delicate petal of a blooming flower", "wisdom is not reaching the top of the sand dune, but wisdom is the grain of sand that accumulates under your feet that built the sand dune itself", "wisdom is the time we nestle under the great tree of wisdom, smiling as we care for that tree and its samplings".
Today, I am hijacking the Fallen Stars tag so I can elaborate in-depth on the connections that I see between Genshin Impact and the Xeno metaseries. This post will be about the Raiden Family as a whole.
The Shogun, despite being an automaton in nature, has her own willpower or realm of consciousness of sorts. This is seen during Raiden Ei's second Story Quest, where she and the Shogun battle for about five hundred years within that little pocket dimension. Because of this willpower, I wanted to believe that she would be capable of creating her own Monado once she was finally willing to believe in herself (though a bit of extra help from Makoto like Zanza on Prison Island helped a bit in that regard, too).
Scaramouche, on the other hand, was essentially given a Temu version of Xenogears, constructed by the Akademiya and The Doctor to attempt to make a vessel that could both house a god and house the power to kill a god. Speaking of Xenogears, you could very much consider him to be like Ramsus as a discarded puppet who simply couldn't live up to his purpose and tried to seek it out by any means necessary even if it was detrimental to both himself and the people that care for him.
Due to the way Ei's Plane of Euthymia works, it works a bit like KOS-MOS' Hilbert Effect where entities from the real world get pulled into her little pocket dimension. Broadly speaking, I consider her relationship with the Shogun and Scaramouche to be like Fei Fong Wong's relationship with Id and the Coward (which in turn inspired Pneuma's relationship with Pyra and Mythra), with the Shogun being Fei/Pyra, Ei being the Coward/Pneuma, and Scaramouche being Id/Mythra.
As for Raiden Makoto... I want to imagine that in modern times, she plays an Alvis/Zanza-type role in guiding Ei and the Shogun to where they need to be. Although she could never be the mother to Scaramouche as Ei had been envisioning, Makoto has always been watching over them even after passing away so long ago and having part of her consciousness stored within the Musou Isshin. In this sense, one could truly argue that she herself fits the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 definition of a Blade...
The family is all together now...
"And I get to put a ring on all of them!"
Lumine pauses. She tilts her head.
"...Okay, maybe not the original Makoto, but, like... I'm sure she'd like me if she met me, so..."
