I live on the east coast, it's pretty damp here, and there are corn farms just outside town, and my gardening relatives have grown corn successfully.

BOM says our mean yearly rain is just over a metre, while yours is 70cm. Could be about when the rain is, because yours is mostly in July/August, while our wettest months are February and March

My corn fertilises poorly (we get a lot of wind but it's raining at the same time) and starts to rot before maturing in the constant drizzle.

I’m not saying it’s wrong to take care of yourself but when I see posts praising old women for having good skin and no wrinkles because they never sunbathed or smiled or ate sugar it makes me sad. what’s the point?
