I don’t think I’ll ever be able to put into words just how much this show means to me, but I will say this-

Adventure Time is the purest reflection of human emotion I have ever seen. It makes me feel, down to my core, in a way nothing else can. It makes me marvel at the joy, and pain, and warmth, and grief, and above all- the sheer wonder of life.

Loss, candy and bacon.

How lucky we are to be alive.

How lucky am I to have been alive at the same time as you.

Adventure Time Finale

I can’t believe it finally came. The finale was an emotional roller coaster, and I’m left feeling very bittersweet. It tied together all of Adventure Time’s plot elements with romance, comedy, and some flair, and I couldn’t feel more grateful to the creators. Thank you for sticking with us for all these years. Thank you for your phenomenal art and storytelling. Thank you for pouring your hearts and souls into this beautiful show.

I started watching AT when I was 9, made this blog when I was 11, and am now 15. I got to grow up with Finn. I found bubbline when I was coming to terms with my sexuality, and was able to see myself in both the scientific PB and the expressive Marcy. And a week into my first relationship, I’ve been blessed with the sight of the two girls kissing on screen.

If my writing and grammar are sub par, it’s because I am literally shaking. Throughout the finale, I was screaming and flapping my arms, because this show makes me feel a way nothing else can. I’ve found a home and a family in Adventure Time, and as sad as I am it’s over, I’m equally happy that it happened in the first place. It shaped who I am as a person. I could write pages upon pages about this show, and I probably will at some point. All I wanted to say is that I love Adventure Time and I love you.

A Serious Post

You might have noticed I haven’t been especially active lately, and to be honest, I don’t have a good excuse. I still watch AT faithfully and love the pairing of Princess Bubblegum and Marceline, but this blog isn’t giving me the same joy it did three years ago.

I was 11 when I created this blog. I was coming to terms with being a lesbian, and blogging about a gay ship from my favorite show gave me a safe, facilitated way to express my sexuality. I didn’t understand how Tumblr worked, so since this was the first blog I created, it ended up as my main. This caused problems down the line, because I want to post about other interests and I often reblog to the wrong blog. This blog has 8,000 followers, and there’s a certain expectation to post relevant content. I’m now 15, and while I haven’t outgrown the show, the ship, or this blog, I need freedom to post other content.

As you probably know, Adventure Time will soon be ending, and as much as I hate to rob you of AT content, I will be phasing out use of this blog after the finale airs. I won’t delete it, because I know it can be distressing when favorite blogs are suddenly nowhere to be found, but I will be inactive, probably permanently. I’ll still be active in the AT fandom, and I’ll try to provide a link to my new blog, which will post a variety of content.

I’m sorry I haven’t done a better job running this blog. I’m sorry I don’t post consistently, create much original content, or always respond to asks. Thanks to everyone for their support.
