i hate when people cancel plans so much, you have me sitting here like a little girl getting abandoned again because you slept through your alarm or you wanna hang out with your boyfriend or you “forgot” you had something today or some random emergency comes up.

if you don’t know for sure you won’t be free then why lead me through that disappointment over and over and over again?at my core, i feel weak. sputtering inconsolable kid all over again, except now my body is overgrown and disgusting, my spirit is diminished, and im ashamed. ashamed that i could believe that for a moment, anyone really wanted to be around me, because who wants to be around a clingy brat?

thinking about those freezing wet mornings in middle school, and the smell of dewy grass and dirt, squeaky shoes on the school bus and feeling like it’d never end. english class droned on forever, 6 years until i graduate. and now i’m almost 20 and one day i’ll be 30 thinking back to these everlasting summer evenings, cicadas and lemonade, and how this felt like it’d never end. and one day i’ll be 40, 50, 60. and while it never ends, you can never really return.
