the only completed drama show in the last ten years that is absolutely utterly FLAWLESS is dark. there is not a single plot hole in dark. you not only get every single question answered, but they tease all those answers in very early episodes so you know they were always planned to happen. they also had the self respect to end the show at only three seasons because thats when the story ended, which is rare these days.
it is a PERFECT show. its the best time travel media ive ever seen, it has absolutely phenomenal world building, it has an incredible finale, and i will once again say the same thing ive been saying since 2017, it is the best written show of all time.
i highly, highly encourage everyone upset with stranger things right now to watch it.
This scene is so important for so many reasons. They're not hiding it from Chris, but he's still able to be there for his Buck. Playing cards just like Bobby played with Buck after his coma. They're still family, and Chris somehow always knows what to say to Buck and Buck knows it only comes from a place of love đź’•
The diner fight between that bigot and Eddie in 9x13…I have thoughts….
Fact 1: it’s late night, everyone at the diner minding their own business, having dinner, maintaining the peace. In walk Buck and Eddie being loud and disrupting the peace.
Fact 2: before he showed himself to be a bigot, the man was in the right to ask Buddie if they were done bc they were disrupting the peace and creating a scene
Fact 3: Eddie, usually calm cool collected, jumps at this guy in full defence mode, ready for a fight
Yes Eddie is hangry and “dull and gloomy” and he’s cranky and he’s tired and frustrated.
But AYE FEEL, he’s also aware of the place they’re in - red state, small remote town, conservatives and small minded people everywhere so not only is Eddie is hangry but he’s also on alert
So he’s on the defence from the moment they enter the diner. He’s already aware of how they’re being perceived. So when that bigot confronts Buck and Eddie, he’s ready to preemptively attack.
The bigot’s opening line is “you all done?”(mind u, they *were* causing a ruckus) which in itself isn’t alarming but our man is ready to pounce (and he does)
To me, it looked like Eddie knew this was coming and he was ready to protect. He didn’t handle the situation as an Other or even an Ally, but as a queer person and that is Gay Eddie omen #ToMe!
Gay Eddie is imminent but it’s gonna take more of the “I love Buck” path rather than a self-actualisation thing (tbh Bi!Buck was about Eddie too) which I don’t think is necessarily a bad thing, given that Buck and Eddie storylines are so interwoven and they’re codependent, and married without ever having dated.
I like to think that of every divorce fight buck and eddie have had it was escalated at least 5% because eddie was hungry. grocery store divorce? they went shopping before lunch. eddie was hungry. freddie fakeman argument? it was just before dinner. eddie was hungry. kitchen scene? he forgot to get groceries. eddie was hungry. diner fight? well that one is obvious
