Hey PSA,

I don't have a preference between buddie and bucktommy, i like whatever is well written.

I think the bucktommy breakup was well written, and beautiful. It was true to a lot of first queer relationships. Buck was naive and new to it all, and actually saw a future with Tommy, but tommy knows how it goes, and stopped it before buck could get too far in. It didnt feel forced or shoe-horned for the fans.

I am so excited for the implied buddie cannon! It feels like a long time coming and i'd be lying if I didn't see the tension from frame one.

BUT

I do not want to see Tommy slander. I'm not happy they broke up, i'm happy how graceful and well written it was.

I also am not mourning bucktommy the same way i didn't mourn buddie when bucktommy happened. I'm just enjoying the show, and you should too! Don't get wrapped up in the ship politics of it all that you forget to have fun, like eddie at the end of that episode.

i will mourn the mustache tho :[

I fucking love brad. I'd hate him if he were a real person, don't get me wrong, but something about this pathetic silly (gay?) man has entertained me so much. I'm so happy he's going to be shadowing the team. Best New Character award goes to him this season.

i'm not mad that people are upset, i'm mad that people are turning it into a moral battle and saying that the writers are bad/homophobic/biphobic for how they wrote it. I'm not upset that people are upset, I liked bucktommy, I was just tired of people making me feel bad for being excited for buddie.

It was bs but it was meant to show tommy's insecurity. He figured that since buck was "exploring" he would eventually leave him. It's not bad/homophobic writing, it just shows tommy's character

the bucktommy breakup was WELL WRITTEN and if you weren't seeing it as black and white ship wars you would very easily realize that.

1) The season isn't already written, filmed, and produced

and

2) People don't get upset after every major breakup. TV execs are freaking used to it because it's a way to add drama and intrigue to a show

i am being so fucking serious when i say a lot of people need to free themselves and queer characters from the shackles of the idea of "good representation" you are stifling and limiting and shrinking queer characters down just so you can fit them into a "good representation" box and it's so. exhausting. queer characters are not a monolith. free yourselves. and them.

A male queer couple breaking up because the gay dude doesn't trust the bi dude to be really into him and is going to want to "explore" is not a good ending. It's biphobic and it's incredibly disappointing. I expected so much more.

Tommy doesn't trust anyone who is into him, it has nothing to do with buck being bi and everything to do with it being bucks first queer relationship. Tommy thinks that buck is just exploring and will find other dudes, or maybe other girls, but will inevitably break up with him. Tommy is too closed off so when Buck, after realizing he saw a future with Tommy, asked him to move in, Tommy freaked and broke it off.

He broke up before buck could break his heart. But, it had nothing to do with buck being bi! isn't it amazing that a gay breakup on tv doesn't need to be a moral battle.

TLDR Tommy was afraid Buck would leave him for someone (wouldn't have mattered if Buck was bi or gay) and Buck was too impulsive and invited Tommy into his life too soon.
