the whole point of girls doing the not like other girls thing is basically them believing that the girls around them lack an interior life. they were raised on depictions of women as shallow caricatures and they recognize themselves to be actual people with thoughts and feelings, but instead of drawing the conclusion that these depictions of women are incorrect, they draw the conclusion that those depictions of women are correct and that must mean they're smarter and have more substance than the "average" woman. to exit the not like other girls phase means recognizing that all real life women have the same level of interiority as you do, and that depictions of women in the media as consistently empty headed and frivolous are misogynistic stereotypes not grounded in reality.
i say all this to say that to exit a not like other girls phase does not necessitate taking an interest in "traditionally feminine" ways of dress and makeup, nor does it mean never saying anything negative about the beauty industry
local conservative suddenly very in favor of gender neutral language after someone points out something terrible men are doing

My most old-school internet opinion is bring back chunky scroll bars! I don't want some scroll bar so discreet I can't even find the fucking thing. I want a nice Windows 98-level of obviousness.

how do i put this. I think it's important to take some responsibility for the state of the world. I think it's also important not to feel guilt over it. That you are obliged to take some responsibility does not imply that you are guilty of something; it's just a matter of being an adult human being in society. The responsibility is to act to change things for the better on the basis of your actual ability & capacity. Guilt for things you did not do does not help you in that.
sometimes i just want to shake women who exhaust themselves for the men in their lives like. they would never do that shit for youuuu. they dont even defend you to their friends when youre not around. they would never do that shit for youuuuuuuuu
Stunning art-filled home in Los Ranchos, NM was built around the original 1850s ranch in 1973. It has 8bds, 9ba, 11,269sqft, plus 2 acres of vineyards with award-winning wine grapes. $13.5m.
i feel like a lot of fandoms pride themselves on being gayer than the source material but have they considered being less racist and less misogynistic than the source material as well . could be revolutionary
there's this phenomenon i've noticed on youtube which i dub "man math" which is when men STEM-ify hobbies/activities/art forms in order to make them more masculine. it's very noticeable in the cooking video sphere where there's an endless stream of videos made by men along the lines of "the SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN best way to cook an egg" (and dgmw, i watch them and find them helpful, but the observation stands), but i notice it also in the way men approach ceramics (a lot of focus on mold-making and slip-casting to perfection, basically reinventing one man mass-production rather than play and discovery), tailoring/sewing/knitting/textile art, gardening and other nature-oriented hobbies, interior decor, furniture making and woodworking, journaling/planning/productivity, even drawing and painting, there's always some man math angle to it that although interesting it often strikes me as some sort of overcompensation to move away from the inherent vulnerability that comes with art making and once you notice it it's literally everywhere
