Sometimes I simply remember that my pursuit of joy in my 30s is a direct result of the fact that I was 99% sure I was gonna die before I turned 30 . I was SO sure I was gonna die . I turned 30 and felt like I had cheated the gods , that I was brought back from the dead , given another chance to really love life ! A chance to not take joy for granted ! A chance to not suffer just because I am destined to one day die !!!

Every time I start to feel that my joy is hedonistic and sinful , I must remember that I do not gain anything from suffering . Not virtue or love or strength , i only gain suffering . I can choose to be joyful after all this time
