So commenting on the lighting for a sec, it’s obvious here that with Vi, the light is gold and warm, whereas with Maddie it’s harsh and cold.

I’ve been nonstop thinking about the moment during the CaitVi prison scene where Cait stops to tell Vi about how she was with someone:

Cait pulls herself back into the dark, the warm glow completely gone as she recounts this relationship with Maddie that she feels guilty about, expecting Vi to be cold or upset like she was before about Ambessa and Jinx and everything. But obviously at this point Vi has recognized that Cait knows the awful things she’s done were wrong, she’s actively trying to atone, and Vi doesn’t care about something as trivial as Cait having another lover during that time.

So Vi pulls her back into the light, it almost looks like Vi brings the light back to her, beautifully bringing her back to what matters: this moment.

I think a lot of people didn't understand how important it was for the lesbian community for this to happen, it wasn't the need to see sex in a series but the fact that finally a lesbian couple had a happy ending, even more so when it is not under the male gaze. This was a VERY important thing and for one of the most expensive and well-received series to have this scene is truly a blessing. So yeah, I'm glad it happened. Caitvi is Endgame and they're now a happily married couple. :D

can we talk about this? can we talk about how the biggest western adult animated show in the world right now has a lesbian couple as its main (endgame!) couple? can we talk about how nothing about either of their characters or the way their scenes are handled are fetishised or reliant on stereotypes? can we talk about how their s*x scene is treated with care, reverence and respect, demonstrating their intimacy and passion in a way that FEELS like wlw wrote and directed it, rather than catering to the male gaze? can we talk about how they got a sapphic artist to create the song that plays over this scene? can we talk about how both of their characters are written so well, in a show that has so many interesting characters but still manages to give each one the attention and development they deserve? can we talk about how their queerness is just a fact of the show - it is never commented on, never highlighted, never used as a source of conflict. they are both incredible and unique characters in an incredible and unique show, and they just also happen to be lesbians. i fucking love arcane, man.
