He didn’t want anyone messing up the place. He decided to keep out that he was the new ruler, as it would dumb down the situation, he didn’t need doubts from people.
She withdrew her hand with a frown. “You’re the ruler?” She shouldn’t be surprised at his young age--Lin Lee Koo, her squadmate on planet Mira, was probably even younger and a genius, though probably not mature enough to rule over a town. She wondered if this young man were different in that sense. “Well, my apologies for not giving you due respect. I don’t intend to cause trouble here. I heard there was a library here with quite a bit of history, I was hoping I could learn a bit about Eternity and its culture,” she said. She was beginning to think maybe the hostility in his eyes were natural, rather than aimed at her. It would be a relief if that were true.
