I'm so BOGGLED by people saying oppenheimer perpetuates the """post-war lie"""" about invading japan
Like, it's a widely accepted fact that Operation Downfall was a plan considered before the atomic bomb was dropped on hiroshima, but the government realised the deaths would range well into the millions. So why are people now saying it was made up afterwards? where are they getting it from lmao???
Doom mods that are either dead, cancelled, unfinished or lost in time
(A pic taken from Doom X's Moddb page, this enemy is based off RTCW's Loper)
This list could be better/updated/fixed.
Is there a mod that eventually became discontinued, that you wished it came back or at least had its current build became available to the public?
Tried to think of mods that i heard were left unfinished or vanished, even if finished.
What came to my mind and some poor research was:
Fractal Doom, which ICARUSLIV3S made a video out of, but i heard its download link is gone.
Some of Reelism's addons.
Demon Eclipse.
Unloved 2.
The Killing Time remake.
A Plutonia remake by Death-Destiny.
Hexen Souls.
Samsara's inclusion of Prisoner 849 in the base mod.
Doom Kart (SRB2 Kart may or may not fill its niche).
Mordeth but that seems to be missing later levels for years.
Project MSX, kind of.
Ground Branch.
Alando Guns.
Doom RPG (Not the mobile games, this is something else).
HRTXC.
Foreverhood.
Forsaken Planet from HDoomguy.
Shut Up and Bleed 2.
Super Doom 64 and Ultimate Doom 64 (Not sure if they're the same).
Quake: Nexus Aftermath.
Null: Face to Face and like 4 different projects Kinsie onced shared on ZDoom forums.
I think Terminus' Project Booty was left unfinished and Demonsteele might somewhat count, since it doesn't work on later GZDoom versions.
Doom X
Most of the stuff here https://zdoom.org/wiki/Category:WADs_In_Progress
I think there were stories about a Zelda Doom project.
HDoomguy was making a spriteset of a Cyberdemon with a chaingun arm and like a "Terminator" skeleton or something.
There's probably some more i think could be added to the list or even some here that could be taken off, if they're easily available and completed.
Some of this stuff may have some role in Doom modding history too.
mordeth e2 is, believe it or not, actually still being made! mordeth gives some updates on it every now and then; it looks pretty great, though i honestly have no idea if it’s ever actually gonna be finished (probably not lol).
there’s a plethora of wads that fit your description, honestly. most of them are pretty insignificant, though there’s a few fairly prolific ones that you didn’t include in here
the remaining episodes of Scythe X are a pretty major one. the first two episodes (10 maps in total) were released, but erik alm has quit doom modding and the rest of the megawad has been left in limbo
the aptly-named Vaporware was never finished, with only a single-map demo being made available to the public. at least we got kdikdizd
the Thrust TC, which was meant to not only be a total conversion but its own source port, was abandoned back in 1999 or so. it's largely been forgotten, but it seems to have been a rather hyped-up tc back in its day
Doom Millennium is a rather infamous one that was being made by several well-known mappers of the late 90s and early 2000s. development began in 1997, and it was supposed to be released in 2001, but it got stuck in development hell, and by 2004 the project lead, lüt, was the only one left working on it. lüt has seemingly vanished from the community, so it's safe to say that the project is dead
the Eternity TC was a wad that was supposed to be so advanced that it necessitated an entirely new source port - the eternity engine. however, it got canned in 2003, though the source port is obviously still being developed. it centered around having mbf's helper dogs be expanded into a general ai that would fight alongside you; my assumption is that, once daikatana was released, the people working on it saw it and went "oh fuck this is a terrible idea actually" and their motivation plummeted
there are, again, loads more, but these are just the most notorious examples that i could think of
