I have some old xiaoluc high school head canons that I wrote a few months ago when I started this year's classes out of boredom
So here's this random... Thing-

Hndfjdkh if you think they got together on their own, you’re wrong.
They are literally so stupid when it comes to reading social cues it hurts
Except it's not exactly everyone’s social cues, it's just towards each other.
Diluc’s more or less a really good listener, so he doesn't exactly write notes, but he does somehow get really good grades despite not taking notes.
Xiao just doesn't like listening to the teacher- he doesn't take notes out of spite
Diluc has to help him with his classes
He makes xiao record his class so diluc can get an idea of how his teacher teaches and where he is in class
Doesn't mean xiao started thinking about paying attention in class, but like..
He listens to Diluc whenever he “teaches” him yk?
It’s like,, he’d rather listen to someone he likes rather than listening to someone he’s forced to listen to
But like every bit of motivation he gets is bcs of how diluc pushes him and he appreciates it <3
Either way, it's more of a.. "he’s desperately in love with diluc and for some reason despite all they do for each other, they haven’t realized their feelings for each other."
Oh, and in this AU, while yes, Diluc’s family bloodline worked entirely with a wine industry, he owns a coffee shop and gives xiao like,, daily caffeine
After their friends notice they’re down bad for each other, they take it upon themselves to bully diluc into asking xiao out on a date when it comes to giving him his daily caffeine
But he does it in a way that’s so slick
First few days it doesn't work
Which is just plainly writing something cheesy on the bottom of the cup or something
Somewhere its not noticeable
And then he gets a bit more bold with his attempts
But he doesn't go all out bcs he realizes xiao’s a bit of an idiot and throws out his cups in groups
He notices when he throws out the group, then uses the number of cups he threw out to write out the date proposal
Its either word by word or letter by letter
And when you put them all together, it’s like a lil ask like “will you go out with me” or smth
Bcs i’m an idiot and don't know how people do it lmao
When xiao figures it out he like runs over to the shop almost immediately and /slams/ the door open-
Like he didn't even give himself a moment to process, he’s just like- ????
D: “Did I do something wrong??wh???”
X: “I...saw what you wrote on my cups”
X: “was...it not for me-?”
D: “Nonono, it is! I-...I’m assuming its a n-”
X: “Yes. I mean- no- I mean no to the- I m- I want to go out with you-!”
And it's like,, they either made a huge scene or they should be glad that no one was in the coffee shop at the time-
But bro, you have no clue how big of a smile Diluc gets hfskdh
Like they’ve been pining after each other for how long??? So many subtle hints and now they could actually date?? Like dang-...someone help these two lovestruck idiots-
