If I were to ever write an Orpheus Valgrace AU (I will not) then it would be written strictly from Jason’s point of view. He would be in Elysium, minding his own business until his whole world violently shifts and suddenly he's standing behind this almost blinding soul completely covered in flame. He doesn't know why, but when it starts walking, he can't help but want to follow. As he gets farther from the realm of the dead, he becomes more aware, more solid, and ghe soul does, too. And Jason’s not stupid, especially now that he remembers he's Jason, so he figures it out. He realizes what deal Leo managed to strike, and for one heartstopping moment he really and truly believes it will work. Leo – wonderful, brilliant Leo who can do anything – will lead him back to the land of the living. But as they get to the end of their journey, Jason begins to doubt. He knows how the story of Orpheus ends, he knows that Leo has never truly trusted anyone, especially not himself. And Jason is praying to every god he can think of that Leo will prove him wrong, but Leo stops just short of the exit. He calls out to Jason, and Jason can't answer, no matter how hard he tries. Then Leo apologizes to what Jason knows he believes is empty air, and he turns around. Jason is allowed to look upon the face of the boy he loves one final time. Leo’s face is twisted in self-hatred and grief when he realizes the magnitude of what he's done, and Jason can't help but smile at him because Leo is still so very beautiful, and if their souls are never to meet again, Jason refuses to let Leo’s last memory of his face be anything but love. Then, in the next breath, he's back in Elysium. Something happened to him, something important enough to break his heart, but he can't remember what it is.
And that is why I will never write an Orpheus AU.
