rabbits are not easy pets. thousands of bunnies are abandoned in shelters - or worse, the wild - each year because homing them isn't what people expect.
rabbits are prey animals with a naturally fearful disposition; cuddly and affectionate rabbits are the result of proper exposure and interaction, and is not guaranteed - some rabbits, like cats, prefer their own personal space.
their vet bills are expensive and rabbits are sensitive to lots of medical issues that can be quickly fatal. it is important to be educated on conditions like pododermatitis and gastrointestinal stasis BEFORE you acquire a rabbit.
while a wonderful, fluffy little friend can be the most rewarding thing in the world, the reward comes from the time and effort you put in.
