Genshin characters react to your lactose intolerance
Iansan: "Hey, it's cool, just make sure you're getting your protein somewhere. Can you do meat? Nuts? Mushrooms? Eggs?"
Zhongli: "It is said that Lactaseus, God of Milk and Milk Byproducts, left a curse upon Liyue after Rex Lapis and Guizhong slew him in the Archon War. However, amateur historian though I am, I cannot help but notice some inconsistencies in this account. For instance[...]"
Sigewinne: "There's nothing to be embarrassed about! Different bodies, different microbiomes :) Here, have this fermented algae yoghurt instead."
Dori: "You know there's potions for that, right? Speaking of which..."
Nefer: "Do you just go around telling people all your weaknesses? How have you survived this long?"
Dottore: "Pah. You can hardly call that suffering... Oh... I know... >:) Since I'm feeling generous today, how about I reline your stomach with Vishap skin? I promise you the dairy won't be causing you pain after that... heh..."
Nahida: "I hear some Amurta scholars have been working on solutions to lactose intolerance. My Sages and I have also been regulating ingredient labelling for common food intolerances, so you should be able to have a meal in Sumeru City with peace of mind! In the meantime, if you need to do a poot or a dookie, is it okay if I request that you step out of the room?"
Albedo: *wryly* "Next time you eat dairy I'll have to watch and take notes."
Sigewinne: "Oh, yeah, I nearly forgot! Next time you eat dairy, let me know! I'll watch and take notes :)"
Linnea: *stumbling over the words in giddy excitement* "Next time you eat dairy can I watch and take notes?"
Emilie: "Next time you eat dairy, do let me know so I can take..." *adjusts glasses as The Who begins playing* "...notes."
Emilie's notes: "Sulphurous, not even slightly indolent."
Escoffier: "Yeah, and I'm allergic to molly coddling. Iudex's tits, what kind of idiot do you take me for? If you weren't interested in me, you could have just said so instead of leading me on all this time." *a line cook whispers in her ear* "Wait. That's a real thing? That's so fucked up."
Alhaitham: "Alright. Was that all?"
Vanesa: *tearing up* "You're... so BRAVE..."
Sandrone: "Okay? And? I'm not your fucking mother. If you don't like my pastries then bring your own." *at subsequent tea parties there is a large dairy-free selection which she insists is on a whim unrelated to you*
Aloy "Elisabet Sobeck": "Sure, good for you. I think we can fix this extradimensional teleporter, but I'm going to need 30 cuihua wood, 168 ruin cores, and a pigeon skin. Not a pigeon bone, a pigeon skin. Know anywhere we can farm those?"
Klee: "Oh don't worry, cream and ice cream are different things! Come on, eat up!"
Skirk: "You mean you can't eat cheese yet. But as you train and your power grows, one day you will be able to eat anything. Perhaps even me."
Columbina: "Oh? I see. Is that like how Sandrone doesn't like milk in her coffee?... Oh? It isn't? I see..." *floats dreamily into a wall and bounces off of it like a balloon*
Xiao: "It causes your insides to burn? I know a lot about suffering... endless aeons of suffering..."
Sucrose: "O-oh? Well maybe if we replaced your stomach lining w-with Vishap scales then the byproducts of, um, the chemical reaction would... would be neutralised? There might be some painful side effects but I think it's a really good idea! Come by my lab if you want to try... Just... send a letter ahead so I know to expect you... I'm not very good with surprise visits..."
Yae Miko: "Don't worry, this ramen is vegan. :) :) :) :) :)"
Nicole: Actually that's really interesting, because it resembles the way in which incompatible sources of power cause imbalance within the self, but it operates on an entirely sub-Elemental level of alchemistry! Before the Voyager's arrival, the primary source of dairy products was galalimaskos — the modern terminology would be Lactose Slimes (oh, but there i go talking about nomenclature again) — but Koitar's rebellion, and of course the Funerary War, caused instabilities in the laws of Teyvat that made secondary slimes and hypostases impossible, let alone tertiary classes like milk. This necessitated the invention of cows (Wait, do they know what a cow is? Or should I explain that too? (A lot of people have had dairy but have never seen a cow. Except for the Knights of Favonius's 9th company, of course...)) which are a kind of four legged animal that look a little bit like a cross between a deer and a qilin?... (Why are they staring at me like that. Is there something on my face?) which are now the sole extant source of dairy in terrestrial Teyvat (though the Light Realm and Celestia itself are another story and a subject of intense speculation) Do you know what milking is? (Oh no, there's something on my face isn't there)
Xiangling: "No cow's milk? That's fine, this lasagna only uses bull's milk."
Riding the Winds, Subduing the Snowlands
"Should you suddenly find the contents of my plate replaced with lemon slices, or doodles drawn on the bottom of my teacup... Don't make a fuss — rather, turn a blind eye. The greater the reaction to these pranks, the more delighted she who hides in the shadows will be."
— Head Housemaid Danica, cautioning the new maids of Zapolyarny Palace

Gender affirming surgery that gives you a tail
Just remembered that my first gender affirming clothes I literally made hiding in my closet out of scraps of clothes that made me dysphoric back when I was 15
if your love for a shittily written FICTIONAL world is greater than that of real living, breathing, suffering minorities you dont deserve to say you care about us, you dont
its either the stupid transphobe or trans people, you dont get to pick and choose your ally ship
the issue with a lot of bad books really is that people are invested in the concept of being an author while not actually liking literature as a medium. this sounds pretentious, but i really do feel like it's very obvious from someone's writing when they don't read enough, or when they'd rather be working in a different medium and only settled for books because they're logistically easier than making a d&d podcast.
Racist white nationalist lobs accusations at a Black professor.
British news papers write over 200 stories attacking him
Said prof kills himself
Now lots of accounts that made racist remarks attacked him made racist meme are trying to back track and wash their hands of the blame
Feel like it's also worth reiterating that like. While it might not be great, plagiarism in and of itself is completely legal in the UK. It's not a crime. It's an academic misconduct issue, where the realistic worst case scenario is being fired and having your qualification revoked. That's it.
Which makes it absolutely fucking unhinged that Jason Arday was hounded to death because of it.
feel like pure shit just want the manufactured culture war bullshit in this country to stop literally killing people
i hope every single person involved in those articles burns
in case folk outside the UK aren't abreast of our news, the British press just hounded a black academic to death
as someone who used to be an academic in the UK and is now just watching from afar - what a terrible mess. I keep having to explain to people who are not familiar with the UK press culture that saying he was under intense media scrutiny is putting it mildly (I think Wikipedia states 188 articles were written about him in just 9 days).
Yes, he very likely lied about his achievements, and it looks like he definitely plagiarised other people's work. Cambridge should never, ever have appointed him professor. Yes, it's fair for people who do good, honest research to be incensed about this. But he resigned! That should have been the end of the story! As bad as it is, there are much worse crimes than academic dishonesty that the press is not covering, and frankly, nothing aside from something truly outrageous (like maybe what Trump or Elon Musk are doing...) calls for this much media attention. And now he's dead and there's going to be a whole song and dance about that too. Makes me sick to my stomach.
A person has been driven to his death despite the fact that 0% of the British public actually gives a shit about plagiarism at Cambridge, simply because a lot of cunts loved the idea that a black person had got something undeservedly.
This is why I have no time for the hand-wringing of leftists who want to meet the right in the middle, indulging their paranoid shit about DEI and woke gone too far etc.
not sure if this even made it to tumblr, but black man has been hounded to death by the British media
Jason Arday was the youngest black professor at Cambridge University, a few weeks ago a "race realist" (racist) accused him of plagiarism (I don't know if that is true I haven't looked into it), since then he has faced harassment and racism from both the general public and the British media, leading him to resign. He has now been found dead and while no official statement on his cause of death has been announced, it's highly likely it's suicide.
Plagiarism is not a crime punishable by death, but yet again the British media, funded by the right, has endlessly harassed a minority, it was online front page news on the Guardian for TWO DAYS!! This is a heartbreaking tragedy where I'm sure no one will be punished for this.
My heart goes out to his family
“nonbinary people can still use gendered terms!!” is the nonbinary version of “aroace people can still date and have sex!!”
like yes you’re correct, HOWEVER. COMMA. 99.999999% of the time when people say stuff like this online it’s to misgender a nonbinary character or ship an aroace character
everytime a nonbinary person realizes they don't have to be transfem or transmasc an angel gains its wings. like, there's sooo much more. you could be both, transneutral, transandrogynous, transnull, transxenine, transxenoine, transoutherine, or maybe all of them or none of them.
