Introduction Post

You do absolutely not need to read this before looking at my posts - feel free to skip.

Hello! I am burbur! You can call me that if you want to - I don’t really care. The username has no meaning I was just smashing buttons.

I am in fact autistic (diagnosed in February 2025, but I knew from 9 months before). I want to be loved for it and not despite it.

A girl (do use they/them when referring to me sometimes though; I like feeling detached from myself sometimes, unperceived)

My current special interest is: Transformers (I posts about it on my sideblog @burbur178-specialedition ).

I do have other interests and will post about them now and then. Most of my blog will be filled with my special interest though.

I have an ao3 account! I write fanfiction! Not all of them are on an indefinite hiatus! The username is “Somebodyz08”.

Swedish and will post in Swedish about Swedish things every now and then.

Omg imagine a phm fic where Ryland and Rocky come across another alien species on their way back to Erid. Problem? It looks horrifying and its intentions are unclear.

The trope switches between space horror and misunderstanding as they try to figure out wtf this thing is trying to do exactly.

One minute it’s banging so hard on the glass of the airlock that it cracks and when it’s inside it starts chasing them down.. But on the other hand… it seems to kind of be searching around for something and pauses at their reactions.. so maybe it’s just trying to communicate w/ them and is just really bad at it???

Okej så jag kan inte LOVA att det här stämmer. Eftersom jag inte längre äger numret. Vad jag minns är att Reinard fejkade sin död någon gång. Min hypotes är att det är detta nummer pga omslag:

Han återvänder till livet senare, tror att det var typ ett år efter eller något. Som sagt jag har inte kvar numren. (Jag hade aldrig hela den storyn så fick inte se karaktärernas reaktioner)

Jag kan som sagt inte lova något detta är bara (någorlunda) kvalificerade gissningar som är baserade på förhoppningsvis riktiga minnen och inte en dröm

I think more people need to learn the phrase "I don't know enough about that to have a strong opinion" its literally a cheat code for awkward conversations

Once when I was in undergrad, someone described something as “problematic” in class and our professor was like, “That’s cool, but ‘problematic’ doesn’t really mean anything. It means that the thing you’re describing has a problem, and in and of itself that’s not bad. Art, especially, should always have problems, or else it’s not interesting and not art, either. It sounds like you’re trying to say that this is bad, but you don’t want to say ‘bad.’ Is that right?”

So from then on whenever one of us called something problematic, he would make us talk it out until we could name the “bad” thing we were hinting at. In this particular class, 7/10 it was some type of oppression, and the remainder was like, “I’m uncomfortable because this is very new/confusing/pushing boundaries that made me feel safe.”

Once we stopped calling things “problematic” and stopping at that, class got way more interesting and... we all had to say, like, “that’s racist” or “that’s misogynistic” or “ew capitalism gross” out loud, which a lot of us had never done in a classroom before. Or we had to be like, “Uhhh... I’m not sure what’s so bad?” and confront our own beliefs and that was maybe even more useful.

Anyway. Whenever I see the word problematic, I can’t help but think of this professor being like, “Good starting point, now let’s get specific.” I think when we have to commit to saying “that’s ___” it requires a lot more careful thought about the truth and impact and complexities of whatever we’re claiming. Sometimes there really is some bullshit afoot, and also sometimes it’s art, and it should be full of problems, because that’s what art is.

Grönsaksbuljong. Alltså bara en buljongtärning i en skål och sen häller jag på kokande vatten från vattenkokaren och blandar. Om jag är frisk nog att orka äta fast mat brukar jag kombinera med bröd (vid sidan om eller doppat) och ibland rivet äpple eller morot. Jag skulle inte rekommendera det i vanliga fall, men man får i alla fall i sig vatten och salt och en gnutta näring, så det är bättre än inget. Dessutom är det lätt att tillaga och äta och stor chans att man får behålla maten.

Something that I need to learn how to do is accept that people I like/look up to can have different opinions on things that are subjective without me having to feel like I’m wrong for not agreeing/agreeing but still having a different opinion.

Like, just because you hate X and I like it doesn’t mean that I have to make a decision based on it, I can even agree! And still like X myself.
