(﹙˓ 🎧 ˒﹚) whoa, did you just hear that voice? it's so recognizable that i have no doubt it's indiana “indy” presley. i don't really know much about them, but i heard they're a twenty four year old psychology major in their third year of study. people say that they're protean and witty, but rumor has it that they're actually irreverent and cynical, so i guess we'll never know the truth unless you live with them in abrams house. if you ask me, i think i'd describe them as the burnout, but their spotify wrapped should say more about them, in which rerun by honey revenge, lessons by halsey, and better than yesterday by local bylaws are amongst their most played. but whatever, i wish them luck on their endeavors in new directions. i don't know how they have time for all of that, but i can't wait to see how this new school year treats them! ☠︎︎ indy is too cool to care ! at least, that's what they want you to think. apathy is defence mechanism constantly used for self preservation. sticking around with new directions after [ MORE INFO COMING, WANTED CONNECTION ! MESSY SITUATIONSHIP THAT BROUGHT THEM INTO ND ] is the equivalent of a pesky gym membership that one just never remembers to cancel. totally no emotional attachment there. haha that'd be crazy ! ☠︎︎ it didn't always used to be this way. like every pile of ashes, there was once a flame. indiana had been bright & shiny once. the best detective could probably source photos of a little dancer with a wide grin missing teeth. silly little small roles in local plays. it had been special. her entire heart had gone into it growing up. ☠︎︎ the novelty had worn off quickly for their parents. it wasn't looked at as something that made their child happy, but rather another task clogging up a to do list. intermission was always extended in their eyes, then 'just meet us in the car when you're done' -- slowly fading away until it was just a pick up / drop off. unsurprisingly, still complained about. ☠︎︎ indiana had to cut their losses when it became undeniable they were being put at the back to cover many missed practices. when a role that she had worked so hard for got taken away. ☠︎︎ music stayed in their life in the way that they continued to sing. just alone now. they had fallen in love with the guitar. eventually moving onto drums as a moody teenager because she could hit them as emotions would become too much. drown out thoughts, the sound of her parents fighting. one day, she came home from school to a very casual explanation: they had sold her drums. too much of a ruckus. ☠︎︎ furious would be a understatement. however, this was a lesson to be learned. everything added up to teach indy a simple lesson of not getting attached to anything. publicly admitting you were invested in something meant it could be taken from you. ☠︎︎ so now she doesn't care at all. if you read between the lines, there are hints. like lingering around new directions even though it just feels like setting up and waiting for a rug to be pulled out from under them
