The COVID-19 outbreak has caused much tension and stress to boil over into all parts of society. Such energy needs to be released into the world in a positive manner so that we can cope with the hardships of life. Resiliency is only so helpful if the tension lingers or even grows into a variety of downpour and bitterness. Comedy has been given a bad name for its perceived insensitivity of some topics that people do not care too much to even bring up and talk about. The power of words is enough to kill anything with enough emotion charged towards them, but it also can provide us with the essential survival skills to get through the worst circumstances that we could ever fathom. Cardi B, whether she may know it or not (which she probably does, she’s on social media more than my entire friend group), has given many hope for a better future and the dedication to keep fighting for one.
A clip of her went viral online and got everyone talking about another iconic moment that has nothing to do with her body. Cardi’s “coronavirus meme” has spread far beyond its reach and into all facets of life and culture, inspiring everyone and their 1.3 billion search resuits on google. The law of conservation of energy allows Cardi to flow into your body and back out into the world through your own laughter. Chemical changes occur, as with any reaction, and now all the anger and pent up frustration from your long weekend becomes released through inspiration. Songs, tweets, exercises, and just about anything and everything that can inspire someone else. The subjects can get dark but that doesn’t mean Cardi’s energy was wasted because an open mind can see the beautiful world within it. Cardi will always be around spreading positive vibes as long as we are mindful about our actions and emotions. You cannot escape Cardi B for she is a part of everyone’s world, our collective world as well as our personal one. It brings a ray of sunshine that is able to glow even through the thick fog that is clouded over all of the earth. The constructive energy around everyone lets us know that Cardi B is still there laughing through her nasal cavities. Sometimes all we need is a good reminder, and laughter is abundant throughout the world for any person out there going through a difficult time with the tension in the world. It says more to someone than even you can think of and you could be the only one laughing. Like right now.
Hopefully.
And at the end of the long painful day, we can actually sleep in our beds for once and know that Cardi B will still be there
Unless we literally destroy the earth. Then… we might be too late.
